About the wave;
This piece is a reimagined version of Hokusai’s - The Great Wave
Exploring the issue regarding the record levels of Plastic in our oceans.
Taking something so beautiful and so recognisable from the past, and shining a new and current, but harrowing, perspective upon it.
I sold out of the initial limited run of the original drawing made in 2018 which had come from developing an old sketch I had made in 2017... This unfortunately has been a topic that has never ceased to be relevant over the years, It's a huge and growing problem and one that spurred me on to re-create this image again, giving it one last re-introduction so it may continue spread the message and raise awareness about the detrimental impact we are STILL having on our oceans.
