Knowing there's an end/opening up ahead is a big relief. I can't imagine being the 1st person to explore these systems when they have no idea if they can get through or not.
if you're the first person to explore something like this there's 3 options you're either high from too much cocaine coca cola, you're suicidal or you're in severe psychosis no other options
I’ll never understand why some people willingly go cave diving or exploring and crawl through tight spaces with the risk of never been able to get back
Honestly, I have no desire to explore caves like that. Been in a few caves around the country, Carlsbad cavern and many others in national parks, and once you’ve been in a few they are all similar and I lost interest. Anyway, I think people explore dangerous caves because it is something they do that makes them feel alive. Our lives in society are so numb and so far from our evolutionary roots, that once you do something that breaks life down to the raw basics of life or death, you truly feel alive and it’s addicting. I think this is why some people fight. Jump off cliffs, free dive, hike massive trail systems, run 100+ mile races through the mountains, etc. It’s a feeling you can only get from these types of basic human survival type scenarios. Stripping away the numbness and bullshit of our modern world, and feeling those hardwired evolutionary instincts.
Thank God you guys found them. My step sister, two step brothers, and two friends went into some caves in Folsom, California. They had some supplies and some water, but they got lost. After the first day and a half, flashlights started dying, and food was really low. Eventually, the batteries all died, and they used Bic lighters, holding hands, feeling the walls, trying to get out. By the third day, nothing left but darkness. Luckily, they found their way out, crawling on their hands and knees in the pitch black. It's definitely a life changing experience.
That must have been traumatizing. I'm glad they got out. Every night before I go to sleep, I light some candles in case there's a power outage. I don't want to wake up in the dark. I sleep with the tv on and a night light, so this is an activity I have to *pass* on. 😏
@@miapdx503 Uhh sleeping with active candles is by far more dangerous than whatever unrealistic fear of the dark you have? Don't do that. If you are so worried, keep a flashlight by the bed that can immediately illuminate your entire room to daytime with one click. Seriously don't leave candles on over night that's sooo bad
I've gone really deep into some dangerous caves where people had been lost, and in my experience, the scariest part isn't going down, it's getting back out. The deeper you go, the more daunting the journey back to the surface becomes.
Agree, this and hiking off trail in Death valley, or the Grand canyon, and that 4WD Black Bear pass clip that was filmed as a Jeep went crashing down the side, I dont know what people are seeking.
if you think this is bad, try scuba diving in a cave system, got the added risk of running out of oxygen, and if things really go wrong, water pouring in from above/through rocks, vision changing due to debris/sand/dust being kicked up, rope being lost, etc
well this video was meant to give that feeling to people who don't cave. Its mostly all fake and exaggerated. Literally the most trafficked public cave passage in the US if not the world, constant people going by...

There should be systems in place where people have to sign in and sign out for caves and people regularly check those sign ins to make sure people have gotten out safely…
Petty John literally has that exact thing in place and you can technically be fined if you don’t fill out the form with info like car tag,# of people, time of entry and expected route. Some people don’t fill it out tho
Some caves do. There are many that require people to get a key and lock the entrance behind them. It's also the responsibility of the person going into the cave to tell someone where they are going and when they expect to return, and when to call rescue if they haven't returned. There is definitely a need for personal responsibility.
I was gonna comment something similar bc it made me laugh. But Kevin has a very good point! Kinda messed up to take fossils or kill bugs or anything like that. Gotta respect the cave
Their really should be a system in place that doesn’t allow just anyone to enter these caves, or a sign in and out system and have someone check the list to make sure everyone is out safely. I’d definitely put warnings and instruction on what to do and if it’s not beginner friendly enough

tyler i absolutely love the terraria theme to showcase the map of the caves maybe in other videos you should also use terraria for stuff like that as it is 10x easier to understand whats going on
My mom lived in the mountains of Puebla in Mexico. As a child, she wandered off to a section near a cave where she heard her village folk music playing. Curious, she followed the sound into the cave and realized she was trapped because the cave seemed to push her further in as she tried to scoot back out. Her cousins had to form a human chain to get her out, grabbing her from the legs.
I believe a fair amount of missing 411 cases are people who one way or another ended up in caves. If you look at cases on a map the biggest hot spots are regions that are known to have a ton of unexplored and even undiscovered caves. In some regions like in south east Appalachia, Ive personally discovered two caves on a family estate where my kin has lived for well over 140 years. We’re talking about people who work their land for generations and know it very intimately. Underground springs have been know to collapse or produce small cave openings as they redirect through the hills with frequency. I still think there’s a portion of missing 411 cases that truly defy all explanation, but a large portion like is caused by things like this in my opinion. I think it’s likely that some of the cases in our desert have been people stumbling upon not so great people at the wrong time. A lot of crime happens in the deep desert, organized and otherwise.
i swear none of yalls videos is bullshit, its all so educational, kinda funny, very smart talkin all around n helping ppl and Kevin bro, god bless Kevin

My buddies and I when we were in 10th grade we had our junior and senior friends that knew about certain caves and abandoned mines and we went in the M cave once, we went on our own just us 3 like 4-5 times in other caves and had about the same amount of stuff as you guys, but it was pretty cool. Although now I’m 21 I wouldn’t do it anymore. For some reason the scariest thing to me was when we all turned off our lights, we literally were sitting shoulder to shoulder and no one moved , but after 5 minutes it was like we all vanished to different areas , it felt so weird. the guy in the boonie is such a character, wish his friends would do more to check in on him, this is a very dangerous hobby. but his talk about the government kept me entertained
I just like to imagine the government stumbled across the M cave and was just like “man this hole looks really dangerous, we should cover it up so no one hurts themselves” just for these two to come along and decide it must be a portal to another dimension. Most likely tho, area 51 is a military base. They may have wanted to prevent foreign agents from hiding out in the desert and spying.
Man, is there stuff you don’t do? I keep running into your videos and started watching you interview different groups of people. Then I fell down the rabbit hole of trying to find serial killers, getting arrested, going through haunted houses, and now this? This shits fucking wild. Being brave enough to basically do anything and speak your mind to anyone, but generous enough to help other people who need it, as well as make addicting content makes this channel one of the best.
OMG, I literally have not been able to breathe all the way through this video I keep thinking horrible things I don't know how y'all do this! I didn't think I was that claustrophobic but now I know I am!😂 and y'all are having fun LOL
This is anxiety just WATCHING this video! Cave exploring is scary! Hats off to you Tyler, you're way more of a daredevil than me. I'm healthy enough to admit that. 😐👍
Those who are also fans of the Strange Dark and Mysterious know to NEVER go in caves, never scuba diva, and never stay friends with the like button if you know what's good for you!
OMG, my own breathing 😅. Those people were so lucky you randomly found them 😮. At 13 years old, I had to tummy crawl out of a cave that some kids blocked me and my mates in. I never went adventuring again . The caves a blocked to public now.... it was fun being a kid in the 80s 😂
Incredible content! The way you blend education and adventure is unmatched. I appreciate the attention to detail and the respect shown for those who have tragically lost their lives in these caves. Keep up the amazing work
Im dying to know how they got the ladders in there...its mind blowing honesty...especially when you see how gard it is for them to just get threw the cave let alone with ladders
Well, I left a different response until I saw you folks go into the private entrance at Mammoth and noticed you or your companion smashing one of our cave spiders.. I'm an NSS member and a member a couple of Kentucky grottos! Our cave spiders, just like the cave crickets and salamanders are harmless and the fact that you folks thought it important enough to put its cheesy demise in your video, when we fight so hard to protect our local ecology here, just disappointed me. I'll share this video far and wide in the caving community. Even our arachnids are precious!
So happy you were able to help the people at Petty Johns cave! My family lives in the area and we frequent this spot. I remember climbing in the spot you used ropes and dropping my lantern. It fell over 50 ft into water. Please do not go to this cave system if you are inexperienced.
I’m an archaeologist and got to go caving with a professional crew in Croatia. While digging in caves is fun I would never explore one on my own. Even though the Individuals we found in the cave died of warfare. Seeing a skeleton and then looking over a cliff right next to it really puts the fear of nature in you!
I could never go caving. My two fears are claustrophobia and being darkness( Not like a dark room but like being stuck in pitch black in a cave or the middle of the desert
There’s no WAY I’d be able to do that. Being trapped in a tight space between two giant slabs of rock is my absolute worst fear! Fair play to Tyler and Co for doing this all the while carrying a camera!!

@@shaharyar4093 to my knowledge and everyone else’s, yes. But I feel like if it truly was them, they would’ve legitimately blocked it and not just stacked rocks, but who knows.
the guy in the boonie is such a character, wish his friends would do more to check in on him, this is a very dangerous hobby. but his talk about the government kept me entertained
Your investigative videos are the heart of what media wishes they can accomplish .. good stuff. 10/10 content
this is why tyler is my fav yt rn
7:00 and onward gave me extreme anxiety. You just earned a sub.
4:10 blud was lookin at him like "bro is dying in the next's 30 minutes"
That M cave thing has intrigued me for years. Glad it's still getting some recognition!
It’s likely not that simple

Refreshing content! Very few humans explore the pockets of the earth.. The sense of risk fuels the adventure! Good stuff!
I love Tyler's videos. I go the whole range of emotions. Scared, sketchy, funny ASF 😂
7:58 I couldn’t handle watching this 😂
Man, is there stuff you don’t do? I keep running into your videos and started watching you interview different groups of people. Then I fell down the rabbit hole of trying to find serial killers, getting arrested, going through haunted houses, and now this? This shits fucking wild.
Being brave enough to basically do anything and speak your mind to anyone, but generous enough to help other people who need it, as well as make addicting content makes this channel one of the best.
20:42 Can you imagine the government just goes “oh yeah nah a portal just chuck some dirt on it she’ll be right”
They filled it with concrete apparently. I wonder what was in there.
OMG, I literally have not been able to breathe all the way through this video I keep thinking horrible things I don't know how y'all do this! I didn't think I was that claustrophobic but now I know I am!😂 and y'all are having fun LOL
friendly warn!!. don't ever get there if you don't have any teleport/blink ability
14:43 Is it not allowed to bring a bunch of glow sticks and leave a trail of them?
They are but ppl just choose not to use them since they bring other stuff
Dude that's so smart😂
Can we just appreciate the extent that Tyler goes just to entertain us 🎉💪
12:37 "im down here all the time bro" lmao

This is anxiety just WATCHING this video! Cave exploring is scary! Hats off to you Tyler, you're way more of a daredevil than me. I'm healthy enough to admit that. 😐👍
Those who are also fans of the Strange Dark and Mysterious know to NEVER go in caves, never scuba diva, and never stay friends with the like button if you know what's good for you!
mr ballen reference?
@@Caleb_B. of course!!
Man that sounds terrifying and youre calling it fun ahahha😂 Id be crying if ppl blocked me in a cave
Incredible content! The way you blend education and adventure is unmatched. I appreciate the attention to detail and the respect shown for those who have tragically lost their lives in these caves. Keep up the amazing work
Watching Tyler in this video nearly gave me a panic attack ..! Mad respect for you indeed!
Tyler is only alive bcuz the camera man never dies and he asked for the camera mans advice.
Camera man saved a life that day.
00:52 Top-tier graphics, also
01:36 Tyler: There's a MASSIVE free fall right through that crack.
Me feeling called out 😭
When you hit 10 million subs, can you please go investigate Dubaï's modern salvery. You have the balls to do it my guy.

Im dying to know how they got the ladders in there...its mind blowing honesty...especially when you see how gard it is for them to just get threw the cave let alone with ladders
They might have taken them apart and pulled them through pole by pole and reassembled it on the other side or something
At 19:48 I was like I should call my dad to see if he's ok
Edit 1: he's ok
This is one of those things that I am 100% okay never attempting in my life. I’ll stay here and watch others lol
Look at you go man! Saving lives!
This is like my 5th video of yours. I just subscribed this moring. Im currently binging your content.
I can guarantee I will have a nightmare tonight being stuck in a cave
At 18:19 there’s a random foot who is foot is that?
Mine
I think it might be a bag strap :)
When he said: this would be a horrible time for an earthquake my heart sank
Bruh I literally was having anxiety attacks watching you go crawl through this cave. I'm not joking it's like I was literally in the cave with you
11:39 GYAT
Lol😂
Ok buddy calm down
WHAT IM SAYING HE GOT A GYATTTTTTT😝😝😝😝😝😝
Ayooooooo
18:02 it literally looks like something from a game. Like how do you reconstruct a ladder that long at that point. They gotta have no clipped or smth
Tyler DO got that dumpy, did you see that recoil??? 9:01
💀
💀
HE DOES😛😛😛
The main question is why and who would do this
I try and explore every crevasse I can find when I go hiking. This video taught me a lot, but the caves continue to call me
Dang Tyler thanks for putting your life on the line for content. Idk if I could do that myself. Keep it up!
6:38 bro who got you smiling likethat
So happy you were able to help the people at Petty Johns cave! My family lives in the area and we frequent this spot. I remember climbing in the spot you used ropes and dropping my lantern. It fell over 50 ft into water. Please do not go to this cave system if you are inexperienced.
I’m an archaeologist and got to go caving with a professional crew in Croatia. While digging in caves is fun I would never explore one on my own. Even though the Individuals we found in the cave died of warfare. Seeing a skeleton and then looking over a cliff right next to it really puts the fear of nature in you!
Wow I can’t imagine that
9:14 nope i could never.. this is Js scary Like what If u get stuck… or what if the cave js collapsed
You are literally one of the best content creator out there ❤
I could never go caving. My two fears are claustrophobia and being darkness( Not like a dark room but like being stuck in pitch black in a cave or the middle of the desert
I can't believe they maneuvered a ladder in there. This was fascinating
There’s no WAY I’d be able to do that. Being trapped in a tight space between two giant slabs of rock is my absolute worst fear! Fair play to Tyler and Co for doing this all the while carrying a camera!!
Caves give me such bad anxiety, I can never understand why people would willingly crawl into these dark tight holes alone
