Tom talked too much. its like writing a sense that becomes a paragraph that become a entire page without a period. The long winded answers left him forgetting what the hell he was saying and what point he wanted to make and when that happens you can hear the unintended awkward pause and pivot into trying to get back to whatever point he was trying to make in the first place

You can tell Tom has been waiting so long to be able to open up like this and tell his story. Obviously, the killer instinct wouldn't allow him to as long as he was still in the game. He needed to maintain total composure, laser focus, and his competitive edge and not give his team or his opponents anything to go off of. Now that he has retired and is able to disclose all of these things openly, he completely lets loose. Of course he had Tom vs. Time and the Man in the Arena, but each of those focused more on his game and career rather than personal stuff. Super cool to see this side of Brady. 🐐

Matthew Stafford recently said he was having issues trying to connect with this new generation of kids coming into the NFL. Tom never had that issue. It didn’t matter old old or young, or what background you came from, Tom could connect and get anyone to follow him into war. That is a huge reason why Tom is so great.
But didn't Tom literally say you have to recognize your flaws in order to prove on them? The fact Stafford knows his weakness most likely implies he is working on that.

I’m blown away by his enduring energy level throughout the entire video. His passion and delivery exemplifies the fact that he does everything to the best of his ability; that includes sitting across from Patrick answering questions.
I can see why he is a winner. Simple answers, and they stayed the same throughout the interview, just like in his career. Mindset...his mindset..wow! Respect him even more now.
26 year Bucs fan here(started watching when I was 8). Like many people, I spent a lot of years rooting against the Patriots because of them winning so much. It got old quick. By SB #5 I openly admitted Brady was the GOAT but I still wanted him to lose lol.
I never in a million years thought one day he would play for my Bucs. It was one of the greatest pleasures of my life to watch him lead my team to a super bowl and I will always have a lot of love for him. His work ethic and leadership is out of this world. There will never be another TB12.

We use to tell non Pats fans is you hate us cuz you ain’t us. You won’t feel the same if Tom is on your team. I was one of the few fans that wanted Tom to move on to a better team that surrounds him with good weapons. The last year he played for us felt like it was a rebuilding year so I thought he deserved better. I’m glad he went to Tampa and got that ring.

I became a Brady fan 38:49 in 2006, I’m from Texas and Cowboys had messed up to the point I couldn’t watch anymore, turned the channel and Brady was on and a class act on the field and I felt him being such an honest and considerate player, he never gave the impression that he was cocky like everyone was saying, he seemed like an all around good guy! It wasn’t til after 2012 or 2014 that finally I had friends start watching the patriots game and some liking Brady as a player, but dang I went through alot for being a Pats fan early on…but I know I was watching a super star !!

Man this was extremely motivating especially being a navy chief the same principles sill apply. I always compared the military to sports to help my jr. sailors and make it easier and more relatable and had good success and many sailors advance. The best feeling is to know your squad would go to war for you and want to work for you not because they have to. This is something that comes with time, humility, Paitence and respect

Thanks Patrick for letting Tom speak and not interrupting him like so many other hosts. I’ve heard Tom many times before and he speaks from his heart, which is inspiring in itself. I’ve always loved his passion for his parents and thanking those who supported him thru his life. Make no mistake-he did all the hard work. I loved the ESPN “Brady 6” which discusses the 6 QBs that were drafted before him. I'm 19 yrs older than Tom and grew up in San Mateo (his home town) and we both went to the same high school (Serra), his parents still live 5 blocks from my parent’s home-so I’ve been following him since ’02 when he beat my Raiders in the Tuck Rule game. I’ve read Greg Harden’s book and Greg talks about what he saw in Tom at Michigan when Tom was struggling and was thinking about transferring to Cal--great insight to when Tom says "I just wanted to be the best I could be" this came from Greg coaching Tom during that time.

It wasn’t Pat, Tom had a plan for this and I felt Pat tried to hurry him up. Tom kept coming back to his story and bringing it it back in to what Pat was asking. He is so good at making a point and staying out of the weeds. He will be so good at calling games and can’t wait till he starts on Fox.

Tom is the perfect example of “ It takes a Village “ his community and family were there for him from the beginning. Tom worked hard from a position of abundance because he said himself he was not driven by money.
For some reason a lot of people like to throw “well he was married to a rich Super model” as a reason for why he didn’t care about money, but I’m pretty sure even $185k like he was making back in 2001 was an extremely comfortable salary, hell I wish I had that salary now lol.

This was such an amazing interview, i don't even like New England but there are very few people in this world i respect as much as Tom Brady, so many valuable life lessons to be learned by listening to him, not only is he the best QB that ever played the game in the history of the sport imo, he's one of most intelligent people i've ever seen, and so humble, he never let his success get to his head, he never thought he was better than anybody and just wanted to be the best he could be at what he does, i can't even begin to explain how much i respect this man, we are all very fortunate to live in a generation that got to watch him play, the man is an absolute living legend.

This was phenomenal. What a great story. As a Michigan fan who followed Tom's career I learned so much. This transcends sports. It doesn't matter if you love Michigan or hate the Patriots, etc. This is about human perseverance. Amazing stuff.
I live 2 towns away from Foxboro, and fell in love with the Maize and Blue the 1st time I saw those beautiful helmets 39 years ago at 3YO. To say I'm a Brady fan is an understatement. He is the male GOAT in every way. What a role model!! Go Blue!! And Go Pats!!

Tom is truly one of the great role models out of the NFL. One thing you can say about Tom, he never bragged, he was always humble, and anytime people were praising him he would name his teammates names.
There’s so many arrogant pro athletes, the way Tom acted on and off the field is pure class and a great role model for the youth. We need many more like him that’s not worried about showing the flashy clothes and jewelry during interviews.

Yah. It's easy when you have a good dad. Lucky I did. But sadly. I didn't have a good mom. So I didn't learn about how to have emotions yet. I'm still learning. But it's so hard, when you get older.
Gotta love it! I recall a clip of a boy asking Tom who his hero was growing up and he said it was his dad with a twinkle in his eye. A relationship like that can’t be replicated. Great fathers are indispensable.

Tom brady , picked late in draft. Wasnt anybody in the NFL til the starting QB got injured. His chance came & he told himself if they let me on that field , im never coming off. He took advantage of the opportunity he had & took full advantage of it. Big kudos to Brady! Lots of inspiration just hearing his story.

Amazing episode. Been a Patriots fan since the late 70s. Brady was my man for my adult life. He opened up and was so unrestrained. We were blessed to have him play as a Patriot for 20 years. Belichick was a fool for not signing him for that 2 year contract and letting him go to Tampa. He may have still been playing.
If I had one word to describe Tom, it's persistence. He could have left Michigan, and I'm sure he could have left New England after many mental beatings from Belechick, but he always put is head down and worked harder. He kept working at self improvement until he found what worked best. As a Patriots fan he gave me the best twenty years any sports fan could hope for.

I started following the Patriots team in January 2002 as they played in New Orleans. No one believed me when i chose their team over the other. Patriots won. End of story and beginning of his career. My feelings is that he was going to prove everyone he was good. Thanks for this interview.

I always admired and respected Brady. Not just for being a GOAT on the field but off of it. The man knows he was the face of football and has millions of people especially children who look up to him and Tom had always conducted himself as perfect as perfect gets. Hes a phenomenal role model, football player, man, father, husband, brother and son. We owe Tom a debt of gratitude. Thank you Tom for being a great man our kids can look up to and aspire to be like.

There are so many ways great people have been motivated/driven throughout history. Brady’s philosophy is BEST as it doesn’t blow other people’s candles out to make his own brighter, he builds and lifts others to greatness, he is admired by so many for giving himself, and he will never stop being driven as long as he lives because it is an INTRINSIC HEALTHY motivation and pursuit that can and will be applied to every part of his life- its been embedded into his DNA.
Patrick is the man. I didn't know who he was when i watched him interview Kobe yrs ago, just wanted to hear a champion, didn't think anything of the interviewer .. then he shows up out of nowhere not that long ago and he quickly became one of biggest podcasters/interviewers on any platform. Wow. Kudos, sir. I might not agree with everything you say, who does? .. but as long as he willing to talk to anyone; i respect that.
What I got out of it, he literally believes in creating a better version of himself daily and the result was 7 rings. Your push to create his motivation to what you and maybe others consider his motivation lets me know the power in his truth.
