    Like Father like Son , Sam is a credit to you and I bet he tells some great stories to his school mates about his adventures with Dad in his aeroplane . You’re doing a great job Noel ,you should be proud .

    What a great job Sam did of giving you your legal rest period! He’s going to make a really good pilot - loved his observation about sensitivity of controls!

    Another great video Noel, precious father, son bonding!! … Sam was definitely the star of the show 👏👏👏 … you need to be a little careful though, I took my son flying as a boy and now, having been completely bitten by the bug,he’s working towards his ATPL, with a little help from ‘ bank of mum and dad’ 😅

    When I'm hiking in the Peak District National Park I often look up and think, I wonder if that's Noel? as I've seen you overfly the Peaks before. Great to see the last of this series. We need some more flights with Sam and Lima Bravo. Great vlog Noel, thanks for sharing.

    It's 2 stages of flap for Barton in the Pa28 that might be why the lines seemed close ? 🤔

    These days the common airlines in the area would be the Airbus A319/320/321. The 737 is a good number 2. But I see more A-busses flying around.

    whats the little box hanging off your headset? i haven't seen this on your previous videos, is this how you record cockpit audio? I'm look at nflightcam cable but if there is a better solution, I'd be interested to hear!

      Looks like a Rode Wireless Mic. Clips to a shirt or cable and will pickup his voice. But the audio definitely not coming from it... Sounds like recording from the headset feed.

    I have a question: What is the deciding factor for airports in the UK to use QFE or QNH? I have tried to work it out watching clips from the UK but have so far not succeeded. I suspect it has something to do with the level of service?

    • @FlyWithNoelPhilips
      @FlyWithNoelPhilips  Рік тому +1

      QNH is used outbound (when you're doing cross country you use QNH). You also use QNH for airspace - for instance the East Midlands CTA iwill be based on the East Midlands QNH. QFE is only used for landing usually, and is simply the QNH minus the pressure difference for the airfield elevation, useful in VFR flights for the circuit to land.

    • @BjoernKarlsson
      @BjoernKarlsson Рік тому

      @@FlyWithNoelPhilips Oh, that both makes and sense and does not at the same time. QFE has only been used by military aircraft/OAT here in Sweden, but nowadays all traffic uses QNH as reference below transition altitude. At least when flying in to manned airfields (AFIS/TWR) with its own airspace. It's always interesting to learn about other countries procedures. I guess that comes with being an aeronautical nerd. 😅 (More or less been in the industry since year 2000)

    Moving to the states you'll talk completely different aviation language (partially), you'll confuse Sam even more. He won't know what to do if he has a QFE.
