Man, I read most of the comments in here and I'm feeling everything you guys mentioned. We have all been through some things. But, our testimony is key to helping others. We shouldn't hang onto our past. We need to use it to better ourselves. Of course, we will always make mistakes on our journey, but as long as we're always trying to better ourselves, God will be there to help us through it all. Just stay strong and always lean on God. it's crazy i've never been able to relate to an artist the way i do with Lacraes lyrics.
try out the band red - they are also christian, but rock and their songs are pretty emotional and relatable as they sing about the struggles we face. "pieces" is a very good track to begin with :)

This song resonates with me. I'm 18 years old and grieve a lot for things that happened to me. I lost a friendship to a guy who I thought was my friend who turned out to be a troll. I ended up having to take a math placement test because I didn't study math hard enough. And I also lost a chance to make real friends because I was selfish and didn't find a way to lie about myself to fit in.

This song gets me through every day one day I'll meet lacrae and thats honestly the only concert or meet I'd remember for life listened to this everyday in juvenile hall and it's always stuck with me
I have looked at every lyric video there has been people saying "That song is my favorite". that's how you know its a good album: Its not just one song/single that everybody likes. its evenly spread out throughout the album which is people's favorite. Totally a Grammy right here.

Have any of you ever seen lecrae in concert? I can see that he is full of fire for jesus. He emphasized in concert that yes he doesn't like his past mistakes, but they help him learn and grow in christ.

This song talks truth, and songs on the radio can't compare to this kind of truth. Yeah, Lecrae doesn't say God or His name not even once here, but you guys don't understand how regret and mistakes can really flip you over. Think about how this song is singing about wanting to change your past mistakes compared to the drugs, sex and ass that everyone is so hype about today. This song means a lot to me personally, and just because he isn't singing God's name doesn't mean he isn't singing ABOUT God.
