I spent a majority of my youth pretending to be someone I wasn’t. I wanted so desperately to be cool, to be noticed, to be liked..I didn’t like who was staring back at me in the MIRROR. I LIED to sound interesting, I LIED to appear funny, I LIED to get anyone to notice me. I wanted GIRLS to notice me...I was constantly chasing that relationship with ANYONE.. Since 2nd grade, constantly seeking the opposite sex. In 6th grade, I began to think about sex..alot I began to “self satisfy” any chance I got. Looking back at the habits I developed in that mindset...it makes me hang my head in shame. My Grandparents divorced, my parents divorced..it only made sense I was seeking that “intimacy”...any intimacy would do the job.. Habits I developed in my youth, overflowed and poured over into my Adulthood..almost cost me my marriage, my relationship with my children..it almost cost me my LIFE.. 🩸🩸🩸🕊🕊🕊 I don’t write this, in search of pity.. I don’t share this, to tell you a story.. Legit one day I thought about taking my own life using drugs had no hope i wasn’t hearing God anymore and my life became useless and even tho I was surrounded with people that loved me I still felt alone. Whenever im going thru these, i put on this song. Honestly, it is my favorite Christian song of all time, well written and heavily relatable. I get down on my knees and start praying, asking for forgiveness and to let God take control because in my hands I overthink everything to the point im mentally exhausted. I saw this nd was like "great another hulvey song". I dont like Christian music sometimes because I feel like it lacks depth and is just too happy and not realistic. I like this song. This is the type of stuff I want to see in the Christian community and would like to make a lil bit as well. I want these hits man. I found this song back in the summer of 2021. My older brother, my only sibling, had been in and out of jail for the 2 years leading up to finding this song. He was lost in addiction and making poor decisions. Every day while he was incarcerated I sent him a message telling him that he wasn't alone, he could be forgiven, that he still had so much to live for, and that God would guide him if he'd let Him. He was released from jail in June of 2020, for a year he was going through life clearly. He was sober, going to church, taking care of his legal issues, and starting to rebuild his life. That summer I found this song and sent it to my big brother. He loved it and used it to pick himself up when he was having a tough day. Unfortunately, by the fall of 2021 he had relapsed. As we struggled to get him back on track he continued to push himself away. We never could have imagined the nightmare that was coming. December 5, 2021, for days before his birthday, he had overdosed and died. I find myself listening to this song often, missing my big brother, and praying that God will continue to keep me breathing! If I didn't have my faith and songs like this one, I'm not so sure I would have been able to keep living. Jesus truly is the light of this world! His light overcomes darkness. His love heals. His sacrifice redeems. ✝️✝️✝️ Although my brother let his internal demons get the better of him on that dreadful day, I find peace in knowing that He knew and loved our Lord and Savior! 🙏 To anyone reading this who is struggling.. whether it's depression, addiction, ect.. just know that ALL sin can be forgiven, your life IS worth fighting for, you are NOT alone!! I grew up without a Father. So many walk that same path of life, never knowing the TRUE guidance a Father can provide, the sense of protection, the unwavering love a Father is supposed to extend to his children. It only got harder once I had children of my own, HOW do I be a Father, when I don’t even know what it means…so many abandon their children asking that same question to themselves. God changed everything, God began showing me what it meant to love, to care, to nurture…but not just my children, but those around me “thy neighbor”. I realized I knew no Father, just so I could come to know THE FATHER, when the time was right 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 We are going to have “Moments of Uncertainty” But that is not as important as the element you use to relieve yourself. Many followers of Christ are still indulging in our vices and addictions to relieve our “Uncertainties” Lean on God in your darkest moments, lean on the word that says you were created with meaning and purpose, lean on the Grace of God…let it steady your mind, your heart and your body. I don’t know who I’m writing to, who’s reading this, but God is ready, and waiting for you to seek him, through Jesus Christ, whom he sent to die the death meant for you and I. Not just on Sunday, not just when you “need” him, not just when you’re desperate…but every day, hour, minute and second of your life. I did too, more so happy tears to see Christians making music that can appeal to the new generation of music, I love rap but ever since I was baptized it's hard for me to listen to alot of it with the things they promote, happy tears😭
I found this song back in the summer of 2021. My older brother, my only sibling, had been in and out of jail for the 2 years leading up to finding this song. He was lost in addiction and making poor decisions. Every day while he was incarcerated I sent him a message telling him that he wasn't alone, he could be forgiven, that he still had so much to live for, and that God would guide him if he'd let Him.
He was released from jail in June of 2020, for a year he was going through life clearly. He was sober, going to church, taking care of his legal issues, and starting to rebuild his life. That summer I found this song and sent it to my big brother. He loved it and used it to pick himself up when he was having a tough day.
Unfortunately, by the fall of 2021 he had relapsed. As we struggled to get him back on track he continued to push himself away. We never could have imagined the nightmare that was coming. December 5, 2021, for days before his birthday, he had overdosed and died.
I find myself listening to this song often, missing my big brother, and praying that God will continue to keep me breathing! If I didn't have my faith and songs like this one, I'm not so sure I would have been able to keep living.
Jesus truly is the light of this world! His light overcomes darkness. His love heals. His sacrifice redeems. ✝️✝️✝️
Although my brother let his internal demons get the better of him on that dreadful day, I find peace in knowing that He knew and loved our Lord and Savior! 🙏

I grew up without a Father. So many walk that same path of life, never knowing the TRUE guidance a Father can provide, the sense of protection, the unwavering love a Father is supposed to extend to his children.
