I think Proton Saga 2016 is by far the best car offered by Proton in terms of design, price. Personally I prefer Saga design than Persona. Saga is simply sexy but simple.
The standard colour looks good. Doesn't look so flat out or cheap. I saw another clipping of the saga in different colour. Looks nice too. Something fresh for sure! Waiting for handling and real time review from end-user now.

I went to the showroom and managed to test drive a premium unit. I would say engine performance is acceptable, other features such as all round sensor, reverse camera and etc are great at this price point. Overall, it's a great value car and I didn't feel any wobbliness during test drive. I'm sure you will be surprised to drive a Proton with this sort of quality. Cheers!

hey guys, im just wondering, just wondering okay, why proton dont make their car a bit wider, lower (i know its lower than previous gen but it still look like its tiptoe-ing haha), and have a greater wheel diameter ? so that its silhouette would look somewhat comparable to a bmw, and thus making it look more a bit sportier and desirable. Does it affect the cost or reliability? or perhaps R&D? but im pretty sure it wouldnt take that much R&D to do that
Segment rating bro. the cost of making R&D ( by proton engineer ) for new car about 500mil on Iriz. And futhermore answer for your question above about the design was not been finalized easily. They have to run a survey with thousands of people about the current prospect of market needs. ( I have experience once went to automobil survey, They got so many question that asked your opinion from the wheel design , interior design , safety applications of the car , engine capacity , body colour , entertainment system , shape of the car external look , the budget to own a car on price , additional features that currently trending in term of accesories and many more. So from all the thousand aspect that they get from current expectations they will choose those answer that majority and realistic with the value to build the car. And yes, it affected the cost and reliability of the car including the R&D budget which finally will contribute the car price at the end. That is why our other local car manufacturer and some Proton model choose to rebatch any existing other model company with a minor change on the design which will save hundreds of million and meet customers need which the car maker company will not having any loss in profit margin. It is not because of the Proton does not learn from mistakes but they did want to be a provider in value money car maker company for the current country economy. Some of the Malaysians would think Proton have not yet achieved the consumers needs. But once they know what is the REALITY of the challenges in making a car, they will say the Proton have been good so far.

And it's just a medium sized company in Japan. No Malaysian company can beat them. The same applies to Fuji (Subaru), Yamaha and Suzuki. These medium sized multinational companies are what Proton should look up to

hey guys, im just wondering, just wondering okay, why proton dont make their car a bit wider, lower (i know its lower than previous gen but it still look like its tiptoe-ing haha), and have a greater wheel diameter ? so that its silhouette would look somewhat comparable to a bmw, and thus making it look more a bit sportier and desirable. Does it affect the cost or reliability? or perhaps R&D? but im pretty sure it wouldnt take that much R&D to do that

Segment rating bro. the cost of making R&D ( by proton engineer ) for new car about 500mil on Iriz. And futhermore answer for your question above about the design was not been finalized easily. They have to run a survey with thousands of people about the current prospect of market needs. ( I have experience once went to automobil survey, They got so many question that asked your opinion from the wheel design , interior design , safety applications of the car , engine capacity , body colour , entertainment system , shape of the car external look , the budget to own a car on price , additional features that currently trending in term of accesories and many more. So from all the thousand aspect that they get from current expectations they will choose those answer that majority and realistic with the value to build the car. And yes, it affected the cost and reliability of the car including the R&D budget which finally will contribute the car price at the end. That is why our other local car manufacturer and some Proton model choose to rebatch any existing other model company with a minor change on the design which will save hundreds of million and meet customers need which the car maker company will not having any loss in profit margin. It is not because of the Proton does not learn from mistakes but they did want to be a provider in value money car maker company for the current country economy. Some of the Malaysians would think Proton have not yet achieved the consumers needs. But once they know what is the REALITY of the challenges in making a car, they will say the Proton have been good so far.

In Malaysia you come to know it as a car company, in Japan, it's a bank while at the same time manufacture stationaries, motor cars, fighter jet, escalators and so on. And it's just a medium sized company in Japan. No Malaysian company can beat them. The same applies to Fuji (Subaru), Yamaha and Suzuki. These medium sized multinational companies are what Proton should look up to

Bezza still comes across like a cut-down- Vios. The rear reflectors in the corners, the kinks in the doors, all are Vios-like cues.

Bahagian dalam smart, dashboard pun kemas. Bahagian luar..... bentuk badan kurang tegap berbanding FLX, tapi ok berbanding Persona 2016.

Saga premium has more speakers than my iriz standard spec, has a reverse cam and more usb ports. But I chose iriz due to tougher body shell.

- Longer body and remain short wheelbase? You gotto be kidding. I wonder how many accident will happen due to poor handling.
- Interior is so plasticky and looks cheap (artificial stitching??!!)
- Engine remain under power, super under power. I don't think Proton is aiming high to be international brand, they are pretty satisfy with government continue using tax payers' money "feeding" them.

they look nice tapi kalo proton buat kereta bigger scale than this macam size BMW ke atau Mazda mungkin lebih baik... proton saga is the very first national car ...so I guess they should put more effort into it than the perdana.but then even perdana some other car designs are being copied from Japanese cars which I find embarrassing and disappointed.what Malaysian want is a pure and genuine Malaysian car..I hope proton would take initiative to come up with their own design as they did for persona and the latest saga..my concern is that they should make a standard sized model and also a wider and new designed interior

In 2016 with 94 HP? 18.5KM/L at 90 KM speed, 18.5 KM x 40L = 740KM/L but This is without any loading and without AC. with those you will get max 400KM/L and remember not to drive more or less than speed of 90 km because the engine will drink up your petrol faster.
but manual i think its save alot of patrol if u goes above 100
