Man Rob, you can't win. You give fans what they want (4 rotor vids) and comments follow about the Honda. I can't help but wonder if it's the same people that commented about lack of RX when you did the Insight series!
People are probably going to say those connects are too weak, but they've been used to hold cars together before. There's a Porsche 914 with a custom partial tube chassis and it's held on with 4 of those. This just has to hold one bar, the bar will twist before it breaks those.
My herniated disc in my spine hurts while watching you lift. Take care, Daddy Dahm. Selling Daddy Dahm Body Pillows can help repay for the whole car and more.
i feel like most would design it to come out the bottom with a subframe section or just by its self as at a track that is going to be the fastest. you dont even need the driver out of it
Wait a minute Rob. What happens when you change the rear diffs ratio? You cant change the front diffs ratio so easy, so when you just change it on the rear you will have unequal wheel speeds front and rear. So you will have slip in the rear or in the front (depending on the ratios you choose)?
Is the rear diff final ratio the same as the front diff final ratio ? I would presume if they are both the same final ratio then the wheels will spin at the same speed if they are the same rim and tyre combo and let the LSD take care of the rest ? Interesting one on different ratios front and back tho 👍🏼
The gear loss is a typical myth. We saw cars with factory diffs actually gain power after installing a QC. The difference is in spiral bevel vs hypoid. Hypoid is used in almost all roadcar diffs because of the position of crown wheel and because its less loud. QC are spiral bevel, which loses a lot less power . Also the rear gears are spur type so very little DTL there. The other myth is weight. A spool type weighs around 40kgs, which is less than E46 M3 210 type diff .
Could this be the reason its called The third member as the third member is the differential the second is the gearbox the first is the engine ....it makes sence to me but Correct me if im wrong ??
my wife (a physical therapist) caught the beginning of the video and cringed while you removed the diff. Careful, you can't get injured before the car is finished lol
Take a picture of it with your smart phone to remember which side is which. I swear that's the only reason I have a smart phone is so I can take pictures of stuff that I'm taking apart. In my case most of those marks you made would disappear for one reason or another.
Love the videos Rob. I think its missing something at the end though, like "See ya later". Haha, I'm only half joking. Great videos Rob, glad you are finally seeing the build near completion.
again: is the quick-change stuff worth the cost, weight and losses? i mean havent you have to change the front diff accordingly to the rear since its AWD?
He didnt by quick change for the quick change he bought it because its alot harder to break them as say compared to a built ford 9 inch Ford nine inch can hold about 1000hp comfortably where as those quick change are deaigned to take 2000+ hp and when something break u just swap a part out as it usually cog teeth that shread saving diff and car
Oh okay So there are no robust 10" diffs without quickchange? I didn't know that, but probably most are for RWD drag cars, so a quick change is of course useful
I always assumed rob was short, like 5'7". But if that dif actually weighs 100lbs I would be surprised if someone that short with muscles proportionately that size could move it around like he was. Maybe robs like 5'10".
Hey the r32 trans your have is it stock? Ppg? Upgraded somehow? I just realised that r32 transmissions barely hold up to 800hp. Let alone 2k. Was just wondering what your going to do about that?
I'm getting a lot of your vids pop up in my recommend recently. Was the build done before already? Like did you finish and restart? I keep seeing thumbnails with a complete car in them??
@@haatch999 So in the videos with the title about 4 rotor, the thumbnail is the 3 rotor? Like he has a video from January of this year called massive 4 rotor update but in that video he's working on a complete chassis?
Oh so you dont know it was a rolling car about 3 months ago just barely together to show a concept which u are now seeing built legitly every tube u saw before sema on the car was like 20% welded this shop is now taking the car to completion
How is the quick change rear differential going to work if you don’t have a quick change in the front? The front and rear has to have the same ratios so it doesn’t bind, that’s why you have to get the outside circumference of wheels and tires the same front and rear on a awd car. Idk if you have a solution but thought I’d just put that out there
You know you're in a good shop when all you have to remove a $5000 diff is a crescent wrench.
Lol the thumbnail didnt even upload
UA-cam completely fucked the launch. The video has been unlisted for days and the moment I launched it the thumbnail disappeared. So frustrating.
Still no thumbnail 😑
@@dinithgamage9576 we dont need one.
Sloth Army 😂
Daniel Ross we don’t need one but Rob’s views would be better if he had one. I think that’s how youtube works.
Rob why is there a 2nd Honda insight
Why he owns 2 RX7?
Diego ramdhani why question it just go with it
Thumbs up immediately for Jaret being back! No more 1 handed working on the cars haha.
Thanks for showing the inside of the diff I was curious as well
Oooh do I see a second Insight in the background? 9:18
i noticed that too.. maybe he admits, that the 3 rotor body isnt rescuable, so he 20b swaps a new insight
I have an exam tomorrow and it's 3am here in NZ but I can't say no to 4 rotor content! 😍
Man Rob, you can't win. You give fans what they want (4 rotor vids) and comments follow about the Honda. I can't help but wonder if it's the same people that commented about lack of RX when you did the Insight series!
Rob deserves so much more views and subs with the awesome content he provides
Wobert Dahm putting in work on the 4 wotor.
You can see a lil pump after he carried the diff to the bench XD Swol!!!!!
Rob is in his element in this vid
love you rob dahm
I'm thankful for Rob, more 4 rotor updates, and the return of Jarret
All that inside-the-car-crossfit had Daddy Dahm looking fit!

The Rotary was put into me on instagram, i shall now watch every rob dahm video on his channel religiously
Having a god awful day but then daddy Dahm uploads and suddenly it's a good day. Love you Rob
We get to see both of Robs hands woohoo lol welcome back Jaret
Getting to see the guts of a Winters diff was cooler than I expected
So glad I recently found this channel, its so cool to watch this car come together piece by piece.
That's some slick engineering to be able to take the back diff out smart design daddy dahm
Love 4 rotor videos for breakfast👍🏻
The winters quick change is an awesome piece of kit
Welcome back Jaret 👏
More 4 Rotor videos, the content I live for.
3rd member is not the rear end, its a removable carrier that holds the ring/pinion. Like a 9" or toyota axles, you do NOT have a 3rd member.
Difficult to watch the adjustable crescent wrench... hand this man a socket set
Sign Deals Also called “nut f*cker” or “Swedish nut lathe”
Rob.. your videos end more abruptly than a Game of Thrones episode. Lol... love the build man.
Some of the best contents in UA-cam very original...all best rob
My herniated disc in my spine hurts while watching you lift. Take care, Daddy Dahm. Selling Daddy Dahm Body Pillows can help repay for the whole car and more.
Loving the daily uploads rob!
dont use a crescent wrench unless u have to.
adam lebednik “nut fuckers”
I wonder how much these diffs will cost in about 2-3 years? Will the price drop or increase going forward, since everyone is now getting them.
Up and up as there getting more popular with same number made each year so price goes up
Nothing like a bit of Daddy Dahm when your at work...
I'm really liking that shirt, you should wear it more often
IS THAT A SECOND INSIGHT
I knew that diff was big. When you took it apart my jaw dropped
Cant FREAKIN wait to see this thing rip.
PS.. Can I get a like from Daddy Dahm for Ligma awareness?
Ligma?
My neck
Keep it up mate love the vidz im all the way from Australia!
Rob Dahm makes my giblets tingle
Nice! Thanks for posting this. Was wondering about these.
The gains you made by using that bad ass sequential trans will make up for any losses that the diff will see.
Someone please tell me what that metal gear solid remix song is that starts at 0:46 I'm looking everywhere for it I can't find it!!
Okay, you're not a complete idiot, you have my sub, it could be worst, like watching Rob Ferretti.
Smashed it ten times!!
Welcome back, Jareb :^)
Jaret what's going on on the rx7 you purchased?
i feel like most would design it to come out the bottom with a subframe section or just by its self as at a track that is going to be the fastest. you dont even need the driver out of it

or a broken transfer case, or one that will break..
It's called a centre diff
Well, the Skyline transfer case has a clutch in it, so maybe the clutch will meld?
I too am interested in how the difference between drive ratios will be compensated for
Is the rear diff final ratio the same as the front diff final ratio ? I would presume if they are both the same final ratio then the wheels will spin at the same speed if they are the same rim and tyre combo and let the LSD take care of the rest ? i like that robb is always smiling and laughing in his videos... like he has something NAUGHTY planned up secretly!
i cant believe you used an adjustable wrench the time it most of took you my lord you need some sockets and a ratchet impact too
Is your car going to be finished before Rob Spaghetti new house is done. I think it will be a close race.
And more important.... what are ya doin' with that gray Insight in back, daddy Rob?
A silver insight also ??
I love you Daddy Dahm 😍
love you rob
How is Jaret's FC?
Gotta love my Daddy’s knowledge.
3:10 i died lmao 🤣, legendary failure! 😅
Could this be the reason its called The third member as the third member is the differential the second is the gearbox the first is the engine ....it makes sence to me but Correct me if im wrong ??
u have the most genuine laugh ever.. so funny
Love your videos rob!!!!!
"Oh, I'm an idiot"
Truest words spoken this year.
Great work on the video
robs p's are very nice
love you mr wobbb
Is that matt Mitchell's 37 midget in the background at 4:15?
If it's four wheel drive how can you change gear ratio in the quick change and not the frontend ?
9:18 another insight daddy dahm?
I'm almost certain you could of picked a better tool to remove the diff 😂
dillaboo16 Yeah, a proper wrench
Yeah, an engine hoist.
I can’t wait till I see it do a fat burn out then rip that awd launch
0:26 thought you were starting to break out the mission impossible song.
my wife (a physical therapist) caught the beginning of the video and cringed while you removed the diff. Careful, you can't get injured before the car is finished lol
GTR fan boy triggered! That's not a center diff Rob, that's the transfer case!
Lets just hope that the rear diff never has to come out :). Looks like a pain in the butt to remove.
And how will it come out when the floor is installed?
Take a picture of it with your smart phone to remember which side is which. I swear that's the only reason I have a smart phone is so I can take pictures of stuff that I'm taking apart. In my case most of those marks you made would disappear for one reason or another.
Very quick
We will see.
Did you buy another insight?
Love the videos Rob. I think its missing something at the end though, like "See ya later". Haha, I'm only half joking. Great videos Rob, glad you are finally seeing the build near completion.
Hi rob.
How do you have 485K subs and only 228 views on this video. That is hella weird it's like youtube blocked it from notifications or something.
Its unlisted
ILY
Wait till you have to pull that when the car's assembled and it's covered in gear oil. LOL
Hi rob 🙂
In yesterday's vid Daddy Dahm Had a fresh cut. Now he doesnt. Daddy Dahm is Illuminati confirmed ......
make an access door you can unbolt in the car cabin to get full access to the top of Diff?
again: is the quick-change stuff worth the cost, weight and losses? i mean havent you have to change the front diff accordingly to the rear since its AWD?

511 haha i just own cars that look like im compensating I guess 😂😂😂
LOL Rob. After all that effort to take a photo for the thumbnail you forgot to upload it!
Hey the r32 trans your have is it stock? Ppg? Upgraded somehow? I just realised that r32 transmissions barely hold up to 800hp. Let alone 2k. Was just wondering what your going to do about that?
Just the r32 transfer case. It should hold a lot. We will both see if I find it’s limits haha
@@RobDahm ahh okay
