    I think cricut needs to hire you as a software developer since you’ve been able to design a hack for their program since they don’t seem to know how to update design space to cut larger. LOL

      I 100% agree with you!
      The hack is great and I appreciate Corinne for teaching us how to trick the Cricut machine
      BUT for the money we pay for our Cricut, you would think they would have the option of using a full page already installed in their program😡
      Why do they bother to make 12” x 12” mats and have the 8.5” x 11” showing on the screen if we don’t have the option to print & cut that size🤦🏻‍♀️ feeling so frustrated 😫💔

    Thanks for showing us this hack. Great tutorial as always. Interesting enough, I talked to a Cricut rep the other day and he informed me that an update to increase the cut size of print and cut is coming soon. He went on to say that the demand was so high for this improvement that Cricut took action and decided to fix it.

    Corinne, this is brilliant! I have a problem, though. I created the graphic in Cricut Design Space. I tried using the snipping tool to save it both as a jpg and an png. I even tried converting using software to create a png for inkscape but I can't get rid of the box that the snipping tool used to select the image. If any of this makes sense, can you let me know how to import an image from Cricut Design Space to inkscape, if possible.

    • @CorinneBlackstone
      @CorinneBlackstone  Рік тому

      None of that makes sense since the snipping tool does not create a box. If you created the design in design space you are going to have more trouble than its worth to try and use this hack. You are going to lose quality of the image and its probably just going to frustrate you to no end sadly. I would say instead do all the work outside of DS like I show so you get a full quality image.

    I re-watched to see if I missed something, but can you confirm if, when you go to print, do you select borderless printing or anything? I know for my Epson WF printer, even if the image is 8.5 x 11, it will shrink it down to fit within a small border ( 1/8" or 1/4" I think?) This would throw off the cut image if you size it to 8.5 x 11 in cricut then when you go to cut.

    I printed my image out long ways horizontal and when I went over to DS it wanted to print it out like your image.. do you know what I may have done wrong?

    • @CorinneBlackstone

      I'm not sure but you can always flip it in design space so it matches up to the way you printed it

    When I followed these steps and printed my image out I sent image to CRICUT and set to the same size as I had it in Inkscape and they just keep coming out wrong sized 😩

    Hi this is fantastic thank you! I have a question, I don’t understand why you printed the cut image ( the one all black) and how you got this colored one. I know it’s a dumb question, I’m really new to this

    • @CorinneBlackstone
      @CorinneBlackstone  3 роки тому +2

      Oh do not print the black image you cut the black image. You print the colored image from inkscape. That’s how you get it colored. Then you load the black image to design space and cut that

    Can you use this method to create mini books so that circut can cut the books out and maybe score if I can figure out where to score on cut only image in Circut?

      I have a tutorial on the mini books I just cut by hand but yes in theory you can use this hack for them

    Hi thank you for sharing your knowledge with us to make our projects easier to make. I'm new to Inkscape and cricut print then cut. I have a 8.5 x 11 picture of my daughter that I want to print. How do I print it from Inkscape? It's not a png file it's just downloaded to my downloads as a jpeg. Please help 😢 thank you

    Hi!! thankyou for the video! I have been trying this a few times and I cant egt it right!! is allways off and I cant seem to find the reason. Do you have any tips?

    • @CorinneBlackstone
      @CorinneBlackstone  2 роки тому

      Sadly cricut has had issues with lining up cuts since recent updates. It is not noticeable on things like vinyl because you are not cutting along a line. But with this hack the only fix I have found right now is to adjust the position of your paper based on where it is cutting incorrectly

    Hope you will answer this I have done everything like you said but my offset cuts thin on the left and thick on the right. I have adjusted everything I can think of and even recalibrated the cricut air 2 and nothing seems to work, any suggestions?

    • @CorinneBlackstone
      @CorinneBlackstone  Рік тому

      Recalibration won’t help you at all with this hack. You may need to adjust where you paper is placed on your mat

    Can you use this with sublimation printer and ink

    • @CorinneBlackstone
      @CorinneBlackstone  3 роки тому

      You wouldn’t want to. You don’t need to print then cut sublimation designs. You can just print them out!

      I have only been using my Cricut for a year & I mess up all the time but seasoned crafters who share their mess ups encourage me because it’s all a part of the creative process. Practice on dollar tree products to save money. There’s a lot of videos that’s how products you can use. Go for it & have fun!

    Hello, I have watched both of these videos on the hack. When I do the rectangle for the painters tape the cut out is not 8.5x11 it is slightly wider and slightly shorter! I have done it multiple times, checking the size of black rectangle, I have calibrated my cricut to no success. I tried putting my image on and cutting anyway and no matter where i place it inside it does not cut it properly. it cuts slightly above and to the right of the image! please any suggestions is good.

      I think Cricut has caught on to this hack, as it's been out for years actually...and had made it so that their page is a bit off from standard letter size dimensions. That's my conspiracy theory and I'm sticking to it. They may come out with a new Cricut with larger print and cut allowance so of course they'd want us to buy that. What you can do is just rescale your printed image over and over on plain paper and print in grayscale (you will probably have to do this a lot until you get it just right) and notate how much you scaled each test page so that when you scale one that lines up with the Cricut, you will know to scale all the rest of your images using those same numerical values. For instance, I almost got mine to line up when I reduce my image -4% and shift it down 2 points and to the right 2 points. I am going to test it out on different images and see if this works for all of them.

      @@namehidden3789 I do believe you are right.
      Reason being that I was able to accomplish this hack successfully with a borrowed cricut. As soon as the software update, it was no longer importing at 8.5x11 it was always 8.499x11 or 8.5x10.98.
      Did you ever do the comparison test? I'd be interested in the results.

    Hello, I have the epson 2720 as you do. First off, the new inkscape 1.2 is printing blank pages. I followed your instructions to a T. Any ideas what may cause it? Also even when I manage to get the image to work (rarely) my printer reduces the size of my image. I choose borderless, but on the letter option my printer says it will have issues and wont let me change the settings. I have tried to change scale to Fit, Fill, and None. None of those work. I'm pulling my hair out lol.

      Inkscape is sometimes a pain but the 1.2 is buggy. I use .91 version and it has less issues. I would recommend saving the design closing out and reopening. trying again to get it to print. You can also try moving it a bit on the sheet to see if it will print then.
