The side view mirror placement could have been further forward of the windscreen pillars to reduce the blind spots, especially at roundabouts and junctions.
One thing I would really like to see as standard is the warning light in the mirror to indicate a vehicle is there, cheers...Andy&Michelle
Hi to you both, we have tickets for the 2024 show NEC. We reitre next year 🎉 and are looking at carthago c or s class. Would you happen to know in advance if any of these models have new features for 2025 purchases. Great videos and love the energy.
Kind regards Graham & Glenys from Cheshire 😊
Hi Graham & Glenys, we've not heard yet but it's about the time when new features for the 2025 line up start to come out. We'll be at the NEC on the Carthago stand in October so come and say hello😀 Cheers...Addy&Michelle
Great review guys, still prefer our S Plus, but WOW what you get in a van that size and weight! Are you on the waiting list????🙂 Hope to bump into you again in 2023, still stuck in Guernsey but survived Ciaran with a few lost slates. Enjoy your travels and we will watch on jealously
Alan and Sha Motoringmasons
Yes agree, if you don't need to squeeze in under 7m / 3.5t then there are better options, it looked terrifying in Guernsey on the news, glad you are ok, happy travels and yes, never know, may be bumping into you again 😀 Cheers...Andy&Michelle
Big mistake putting both the water tanks so far back making it really easy to overload the rear axle if putting much in the garage. Do away with the silly shoe cupboard and move the fresh tank to under the rear travel seats.
Hi, not entirely sure of the distribution of the tanks but there is a video playing on the stand showing how the design of the van has been balanced for an optimal driving experience , cheers.. Andy&Michelle
We saw it at nec, loved it, and brought it at show, due to pickup end of November. Would you recommend getting a ceramic coating. Can not wait for end of November ❤😊
Congratulations 😀and not long to wait for it👍 the Ceramic coating on ours has saved me hours of polishing and it’s easier to keep clean while away, we’ve been very pleased with the coating that Paintseal did for us, happy travels…Andy&Michelle
Looks like a beautiful luxury motorhome and just the kind of van we like 😃🚐 Trev n Sue xx
Thanks Trev n Sue, yes we found this very luxurious indeed, when inside
We completely forgot it was only just over 7 metres! cheers…Andy&Michelle 😍
At last! I've been waiting for a decent review of the 145 since it was announced, I knew we could rely on you two! I think this is the one for us, I've done nothing but research for the last year and this ticks most of the boxes. We'll see you on Saturday at the NEC 👍👍
Thanks😀 great to hear you enjoyed our review of the 145, we’ll be on the Carthago stand from 11-2:00 so if you want a tour or have any questions we are more than happy to help, see you on Saturday 😀cheers…Andy&Michelle
It certainly looks the part, I particularly like the separate shower from the toilet & basin area. There is plenty of room in the lounge & I like the German layout of separate beds in the back. Presumably there would be an oven option for the UK market?
Hi, yes there is an option to have an oven, the one at the NEC show which we walk into at the beginning of the video has an oven, cheers…Andy&Michelle
Hi lovelies 🥰 we really enjoyed this video especially as it’s our favourite make of Motorhome !! Great tour of the new model can’t believe Andy made you get in the cupboard 😆😆 🙄 🤣 he’s bad!! 😂 hope your enjoying your time at the NEC - big hugs, Debs and Mark xxx 😘
Glad you enjoyed it Debs and Mark 😊 I can't believe I didn't lock Michelle in , even for just a short time!! Maybe I didn't fancy the retaliation of being locked in the garage!! Yes, having a great time at the NEC, take care both 😀...Andy&Michelle xxx
I have been researching motorhomes for some time now. This van has everything on my wishlist and the sweetspot of 7m ish.
Love your enthusiasm during the review guys too.
Hi Jason, it does tick a lot of boxes for us too without compromising on the all important garage space for our ebikes 😀 cheers...Andy&Michelle
Thought there would have been a pool as well as a bar
ha ha...now that would be luxury!! Cheers...Andy&Michelle
Looks lovely. Same layout as our Pilote. Is there a door between the bedroom and the toilet? couldn’t see. Ours has one plus the door through to the living area. Almost the same finish on the cupboard fronts which does make it lovely and light. Enjoy the rest of the show.
Hi Peter, there's one door that shuts of the toilet or the front Kitchen and lounge, we did see a recessed rail for a curtain at the bottom of the bedroom so it would be possible to shut off the front and still have privacy in the bathroom with a curtain, We've had a day off today but back at the show tomorrow 😀 cheers...Andy&Michelle
It does look very nice. No oven though, the same as our Burstner. We thought we wouldn't mind but its onecthing we really miss from the old van.
We've never had the luxury of an oven so I guess we don't know what we are missing!😀 the 145 at the NEC show does have an oven though, not sure if it comes as standard on the Superior model or if its an option. Great to see you on Saturday, cheers...Andy&Michelle
Who needs an oven, just take an airfryer.
That's a mortgage!
A fair few ££ but they do stand out for their quality😀 cheers...Andy&Michelle
Great review guys. 2.27m wide is remarkable with a bathroom and separate shower! I guess that's without mirrors included??
Thanks Ed & Jane, yes we still can't believe they've got the separate bathroom and shower in a Motorhome smaller than ours. Mirrors - thats a very good question! never considered that before but looks like they are not included in the width as they can be folded in, cheers...Andy&Michelle
That is too much like our C-Line to bother changing it, but really good review from both of you. You didn’t mention its weight, as it’s just 7m long I guess it could be 3500 kgs? Cheryl
Thank you Cheryl, it’s available as a 3.5t and 4.5t depending on payload needed , cheers…Andy&Michelle 😀
Lovely looking motorhome and at 7.1 metres long to get all of that in is great, its exactly a metre shorter than our swift, so bigger isnt always better 😉 , thanks for sharing 👍
We couldn't believe they managed to get a separate shower in but it was shorter than ours at 7.5m 😀 cheers...Andy&Michelle
Fab❤ we currently have a Hymer A-class and can not get on with the width/perception when driving 🙄🙈 wd luv to see a review of the low profile model of the Carthago 145 ❤❤❤.. actually I will be in it on Friday if the queues aren't too bad 🎉😂 see you there lol
Thank you❤️ yes the width perception of the A class is a strange one, it certainly felt a bit wider when driving but was only a couple of cm difference to ours, we did love the view out of the a Class better than ours, yes see at at the show😀 cheers…Andy&Michelle
Another van that you cant sit up in bed
You absolutely can sit up in bed 😀🛏️the back 3rd of the bed is on a hinge and locks in at various heights, cheers…Andy&Michelle
@@ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures ohhh well I take that back then 😁. Damn I might have to bloody but one now.
Ha ha, deal clincher! 🤣
A great review guys, it’s amazing that this particular vehicle is within the 3.5 ton category, which is great news for standard driving license holders.
I really enjoyed your walk and talk around & to see how well fitted out this motorhome is.
Seeing it out on the road was very useful to get a sense of the actual size of the motor home😎👍
Maybe you’ll buy one?
Cheers 🥂
Thanks Barry, not quite in the market for a new Motorhome just yet but this one does tick a lot of boxes! re the 3.5t. - it does limit the number of extras that could be added, and realistically with a scooter or pair of ebikes then the 4.5t version of the 145 would be needed. The Fiat Ducato on the 3.5t is lighter than the Mercedes 3.5t. It is an amazing Motorhome, we couldn't believe it was only 7m long and still had the big garage! cheers...Andy&Michelle
@@ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures Thank you Andy for your really informative reply, it’s really appreciated.
I’ll definitely look at the Fiat Ducato too in order to keep within the overall mass weight limit.
Hugs to you both.
Cheers
Barry
Hate to think of the price of the Cathodo, Ttruma and not Alde heating!!
They don't come cheap! Motorhomes generally have all gone up a lot. The 145 is about £115k base, but realistically with extras you can add 20-30k onto that, cheers...Andy&Michelle
Carthago still haven't learnt how to design a decent lounge area - and how to mount cupboards sensibly in the bedroom for comfort. As ever, a ridiculously large table and cramped living area seating. Also, lets hope they have ironed out their warranty issues - we have had our Compactline for four years and from new it has spent more time at the dealer's premises than on the road - you'll wait six weeks minimum for most Carthago parts to arrive. There are certainly better manufacturers out there who have much smarter designs and certainly far better customer service.
We have the same lounge area in our MH and it works great for us, we like the big table but I know there are others that have changed it, maybe Carthago should add different tables as options. We've had our Carthago 5 years and only had 3x1 day of warranty work. I hear you with your frustrations, hope things are sorted now, we've had a very good experience with our Carthago, cheers...Andy&Michelle
Thanks for the response and of course we all have different preferences so I'm pleased it works for you. Carthago seem blinkered to the concept of folding or even removable tables and persist with so called "Euro" lounge layouts with oversized tables when every other manufacturer recognises that face to face seating gives more space and easier accessibility. Sadly our Compactline continues to frustrate with poor build and design, and the latest issue is water ingress. We've had Italian, British and two German motorhomes and I'm afraid both German vans have leaked - and both were new with regular "water leaking warranty services" as the Germans call them. So we've had enough of so called German "quality" and are currently looking at Adria or Rapido as their designs are far more imaginative, seem extremely well built and most importantly from the research we have done have customer service that Carthago could only dream of attaining. Good luck with your travels though.
Thanks Mike...good luck with your travels too
6-8 weeks wait is normal for any of the European brands , the whole process takes longer post brexit

Brilliant video and a beautiful van. Have a great show.
Thanks both, hope you had a great time for the rest of your holiday in Germany, cheers...Andy&Michelle
Thought there would have been a drop down bed over the front though (Brilliant vid again)
Glad you enjoyed the video, the drop down bed is a choice😀, the one at the show has a drop down bed, the one we took out didn’t so depends if 4 beds are needed or a few extra cupboards, cheers…Andy&Michelle
Taking out the drop down bed is a great feature, when we change ours we will have no bed.🚐👍🏻
Great Van and a even better review !!
Neil😀😀
Thank you Neil 😊 so kind!😀 cheers...Andy&Michelle
No Oven 🤷♀️🤔
It's an option
Thanks @freeley34 yes, it’s an option but the one at the NEC show does have the oven in built as the superior , cheers…Andy&Michelle
What great review with some nice little touches it’s very much like our A-Class have you placed your order 🚐
Thanks, this one does tick a lot of boxes for us but sticking with Katie for now 😀 x
