Great lecture, but disagree with how care for none-humans should be seen as an argument for ecological awareness and care for the environment, it is obviously sufficient to focus on human welfare for the argument to reach much of the same conclusion. Disrupting the environment we depend on can be dangerous to our own long-term welfare. Where it differs is that it's ultimately okay for humans to sacrifice other species for our own benefit as long as this sacrifice is very likely to increase our own welfare.
