EVERYTHING in life is a learning journey. None of us know it all. I use a horizontal layens hive and you should see some of the brood frames. The bees like to lay in a larger pattern. Always remember there is more than one way to skin a cat and none of us know it all.
I’m getting older and just getting into beekeeping. I chose Layens hive’s because I’m getting older and really don’t want to be lifting boxes. With these hives once you get them in place, the heaviest thing you lift is a single frame. I don’t intend to ever go commercial.
You know there’s a fast forward function right and you can just check at what point he starts to go into things? Why do people look for every chance to complain?
When you are afraid of the bees your buddy emanates pheromones which the bees can sense and they put them in a flight or fight mode and that's when they attack you the same with dogs
It seems you all in USA have more swarms that I do in western canada! I wish I had so many chances to catch a swarm! I've had my swarm trap and Layens hive all ready to go with Dr. Leo foundations, lure, etc but no luck yet! 😅

Horizontal hives are SO much easier to deal with than Langstroth hives!
