Cant wait for a detailed cockpit guide where you give us a computer science degree in order to make a ballistics computer, gun target leading and the easiest part: running simpleplanes in a monitor inside the plane But more seriously, a guide on cockpits would be nice, i tried making a nice one for a mig29 style thing with everything in a "display but oh god funky/xml is a tad intimidating
True. For example looking at GuyFolks builds, and seeing all this crazy stuff in the cockpits. We really need some good tutorial on how to use the funky tree features.
This... that's cool. There is enough humor and meme, while informative, and will help beginners a lot. it's nice to see that someone is finally filling their UA-cam niche with contacted content. And also... congratulations to 4k subscribers, and.. Greetings from Russia!
I change only one setting in the bottom part of the tail rotor settings and that's changing the mode to "Head Hold" which to me makes flying kinda easier especially if you're on mobile. (PS. I also use reverse rotation but only sometimes)
yooo ma man I actually found a way to not-use a gyro, and still yaw when using the counterrotating props basically set the governor to around 95% then change the throttle input to, for example, AG1 + Yaw*2 (minus Yaw*2 for the second prop) this will create a difference in rotation speed of the rotors thus making the aircraft yaw :)
One thing I don't like when tampering with these rotor's properties using funky trees and overload is that, no matter what I do, differential collective on a coaxial helicopter doesn't provide the differential torque IRL coaxials use to control yaw, even editing the rotor scalars to have an insanely high collective torque does absolutely nothing LMAO. I like this video btw, keep it up!
So, in the tail rotor part, linkage speed is the speed you want for the linkage from 0 to full, gyro gain is how much freedom of movement of your tail example : too much will cause tail wagging (because the gyro put in too much input to the tail rotor), too little it will start sliding slowly (because the gyro put too little input to the tail rotor), gyro speed is for the speed of reaction of the gyro, trim scale might be to trim the gyro like triming the elevator
Technically speaking, helicopters that have two main rotors stacked onto of each other is callex coaxial rotor setup. The other one, on the flying sub, is called a Tandem rotor setup.
@@WalvisYT Yes, true, but you don't really hear the term 'Contra-rotating' being applied to helicopters. Just a thing I'm pointing our for the hell of it, not saying you're wrong.
One thing that I did find out is that switching your tail rotor "Mode" (the button above gyro speed) to "Head Hold" instead of "Rate" makes the helicopter have better response to yaw. "Rate" setting is basically like the trim slider for elevators; It does not return to centre, so you have to slowly adjust it to yaw. Similar to using keyboard for rudder control in FSX "Manual" setting from what I tested is similar to real helicopters; The tail rotor returns back to centre with no input. This may feel realistic if you have rudder pedals, but I don't, so cannot test it. "Head Hold" setting combines the best of both worlds; It seemingly automatically trims the tail rotor to prevent you spinning, yet it responds immediately to yawing. Similar to using RCN nozzles for yaw. In aggressive yaw movements, the "Rate" setting tends to feel sluggish, causing you to overcorrect and start spinning. Edit: grammar
I forgot that this video existed hahaha, I was working on the Sa 313 allouette and looking for some tips to make it s t a b l e. Good thing I found this while building at the process
One thing I struggle with is how to stop helicopters from tilting to one side. It gets very annoying and idk how to counter the tilt. And it's usually caused by the tail rotor. Even if it's a zero it still tilts left or right
We cus we like ur vids most importantly u explain so easy to understand and hav good quality vids and mic Unlike those vids mobile builders on low quality and simpleplanes settings all low Cough, cough
You can also make an alternate pitch axis for both rotors and have them on normal and inverted pitch for left and right yaw on coaxial rotors for yaw control which is how it works irl, basically because one is pitching down and the other is pitching up the total lift is maintained but there is a torque differential because the rotors engine that is pitched up has to work harder to keep the same speed due to more drag so the helicopter will yaw...helicopters are cool as fuck
* meanwhile me who is still trying to understand the mods, now leaving that hell to jump into a different one * me: * *barely audible yay* with panic and true fear deep in eyes*
I have been creating a bunch of Afterburner Helicopters with this game, but I have a problem, how to set the tail rotors so it has integrated mechanisms with its main rotor in case when you try not to use overload modding for its main rotor
Is there a way to stop the rotor after it started moving? I'm trying to build an F35 but once I start flying in horizontal mode, the blades keep spinning, creating some undesired pitch up tendency (even if I set the neutral pitch to zero).
I just cant get to generate lift lol, im trying to make a helicopter with the rotors at the sides? Instead of having them on top? But i simply cannot get it to fly
I have a question. I am trying to build a Chopper on mobile and downloaded multiple from the simple planes website to learn out of them but nit a single one was able to generate speed and wasnt able to take of or fly. Can anyone tell me how to fix that?
Can you make a video on how to make a VTOL? I really want to make one but everything i make just goes _FooOoOshhhh_ and then thinks its a kamakazi pilot
i made a helicopter that have the same idea as the k-max and i don't really know how to make it pitch and roll. I tried using hinges and disabling the rotors action and it was bad i need help pls
FINALLY
Lmao agreed

My helicopter:I MUST S P I N
Mine is like lets do a hybrid of 19 plane maneuvers
I use No Gyro , With Tail Rotor.
It's Easy when you Understand the Game.
The most Easiest Helicopter for Beginners are the Coaxial Helicopters :)
Its all fun and games till your Helicopter pulls a Ka-50 and flies perfectly without a tail section
Ka-50 (and 52 for that matter) dont have and dont need tails because they have two sets of contrarotating blades
I love your sense of humor and also this video game
I just discovered you and I subscribe now
kind of yt videos id like to watch at 2am
I just love that he balaced the comedy and the tutorial
As "that Battlefield 4 noob heli pilot" for a long time, this is good👍
yay its Walv!s

So I just found out that you can use tail rotor to add tank turning to your tank build

Suggetion: how to make vtol in Simple Planes.
Technically speaking, helicopters that have two main rotors stacked onto of each other is callex coaxial rotor setup. The other one, on the flying sub, is called a Tandem rotor setup.
Both the tandem rotor approach and the coaxial rotor approach are both variants of contra-rotating rotors.
