Medina was way underscored that 8 something deserved at least a 9.7. Now kelly did the same when had priority countless times. Does anybody remember what he did against Parko?Parko had to be held up he was willing to have a go over Kelly. Kelly is no saint, would do the same without giving a second thought

You shut you fucking hole Thai! Your golden boy should have been looking and seen Kelly take off! Maidina could have killed him blindly droping in like that. And I guarantee having Priority won’t hold up in court if Maidina had. Safety is the first concern in all sports especially surfing; i’d be well for you to remember that.

Agree but it's competitive surfing.....always hated surfing comps in shit waves losing to guys doing "head snaps" making their shit turn on a 2' closeout look bigger by snapping their upper body and head. Judges at that level in the 90s fell for it a lot

Medina needs to learn the traditional conditions of professional surfing. he is an amazing talent, one of the best progressive surfers of all time- but time and time again he makes decisions which are legal in the WSL rulebooks but totally unsportsmanlike, such as his using priority to take Kelly's wave away from him before kicking out immediately. The rest of these surfers are great friends and that shows in their etiquette in the water, so why can't he do the same !!
Everyone on the tour would do the same thing, research about priority on world surf tour.
Kelly did exactly the same twice this year against Medina at The Pro Coast, what U have to say about that

Everyone on any tour must retain an amount of respect for one another. If Gabriel wants to make a name by being a complete dick that is what he will be remembered for. Surfing is like swimming, the only person you are truely competing against is yourself. The debate about that wave was one of safety and good sportsmanship not priority. We’ve lost too many good surfers to accidents that could have been pervented if one of them had looked before going.
Kelly was probably one of the first to use this tactics. Back in the 90's he do it to Shane Beshen in Huntington, from then on everyone took notice . Greetings!

they should really change or adjust this priority rule ...it was so frustrating to watch him cut Slater on this one. If those are the rules then show some f class? i mean i dont blame him, he wants to win "at all costs", and thats the difference between him and a truly great surfer I guess, winning yes but maybe with some class? nogt at any cost, not at the one of dropping on someone ... But this one was still less pathetic than what he did a year later at the Billabong Pipe masters ... idk. I really wanted to see Kelly surf that wave, even if Medina kinda killed it on this set.... he just is never as in harmony with the wave as slater but no other surfer really does. whatever my very long 2 cents!
Kelly used this same strategy against his opponents in at least 7 or 8 of his championships and yet u remained silent about it and now wanna complain just cuz it is Medina doing it? stop being an asshole.
