Kelly was a good character, even through she was used mostly in the shipping drama as seen here (and season 4 as well). She deserved more action scenes.
Kelly easily my favorite side character in the whole show and I loved her whole thing with Marco would have preferred them together but I understand Starco happened. I just wish if they weren’t gonna do anything with it they had it get some focus in season 3 more. Cuz like that season got to focus on a lot of the Star and Tom stuff so it really just looks like they needed someone for fake to ship with Marco while they made their way to the finale. And considering both star and Marco essentially dropped every romantic interest they had for each other I feel like it should have been more of a big choice even though I don’t like the “Who so you wanna be with” kinda episodes. All the stuff in this show about how to handle relationships feels undercut by how they treated Kelly

I’d argue she’s the single handily most fucked over character (that star didn’t kill) her dimension is entirely separate to earth and mewni, so she’s never getting to see any of them ever again, meanwhile Tom, star, marco, ponyhead, etc are all together.
Unless all the dimensions were fused, not just mewni and earth. This does open the gateway of magic coming back. In my headcanon, it is a fundamental force of the multiverse, and it can't not exist for long. Sooner or later, Star will walk into a pudding shop and Glossaryck will just be there.

It's honestly kinda weird, in her first episode I kinda hated Kelly, mainly because she was just being silent and mysterious for no reason, when a lot of the conflict would have been avoided if she'd just talked to people! But over time she did turn into probably my favourite love-interest for Marco, and the one that he seemed to have the most chemistry with. Pity then that they decided to have them be an item for only a couple episodes and then unceremoniously breakup offscreen for no reason!

It's equivalent to when your shy and quiet friend who doesn't really speak all that much suddenly starts talking. Though Kelly is neither quiet or shy, I think you get the idea.
