I don’t really understand the points made about the campaign. This is probably the best campaigns since Cold War. The open world missions, like the one in Iraq, you don’t have to do the side objectives. You can just do the missile launchers and be done with it. The mission in the facility has actual story to it, you discover the origins of the Cradle, and that your character was experimented on with the Cradle. People have complained about the short campaigns, and when we get a longer campaign it’s an issue. I don’t really understand what people expect them to do. Although it’s open ended, the story is actually pretty good, you just have to read between the lines to discover it, it’s not spoon fed to the player.
I agree, I also liked how the side missions in the Iraq mission gave you equipment. If you take out the SAM sites you gained access to the chopper gunner.
My only complaint with the campaign is you play as another nobody essentially. I liked playing as actual characters in the other games, not some throwaway no name
Ngl , personally I don't see why people dislike the campaign as much as I've been seeing - It's actually quite good, there was one maybe two open world missions and they were far more fleshed out than MWIII's was. They were alright but I'm glad it wasn't the entire campaign. I loved the twists and turns in the campaign - very reminiscent of Cold War's the Red Door and Black Ops 1 Mason's Numbers almost. I'd give it a solid 8/10
The problem is that the levels were chosen by premise first then they wrote a story around it. The game doesn't really have much to do with the Gulf war other than they thought having some missions during it would be cool. And the entire pantheon aspect is extremely undercooked until basically the last level which is a super long dream sequence that honestly sucks. And the ending is just a set up for seasonal story. Like, the levels themselves are mostly pretty good but overall I think it's pretty messy
I genuinely think TDawg has some terrible opinions about that. He’s clearly never played an immersive sim. To me it seems they’re switching to that sort of gameplay loop to allow you to use whatever solution you feel is necessary and in whatever order you feel is best. If something isn’t spoon fed to him, he just can’t comprehend it. I love this podcast but sometimes I can hear the gears grinding in their heads as they try to formulate a thought
One of the problems with campaigns in modern cods is they have to leave plot points open ended so they can elaborate during some seasonal storytelling like destiny, they don’t try to tell a story from start to finish anymore
I really liked the Campaign. The open mission in the dessert was enjoyable. The campaign really mixed up the different types of game play. The"weird" missions were just as that, weird, but I liked them. They really tried hard with this campaign and seems to have put a lot of work into it.
Campaign was awesome. Missions provided something new each time. The setting, story and gameplay was fun. 8.5 out of 10 for me. Open missions were actually fun unlike mw3 and more importantly there was only a couple open missions.
@@jamiecarr8143 it worked completely differently in BO4. It only spawned with your specialist & it only came with that stone cold stronghold perk. PERK!!!! If they really need to make a stupid armor system, make it work like a perk
The Ys games are a great example of games that have self contained stories in each one but are connected to a grander narrative. Ys 10 just came out this year
I don't get the remarks about the campaign - it's easily one of the most polished in the series. Story is decent, the mission variety is good and all of the main characters work well. Plus, it has so many additional side quests and puzzles with rewards for the player.
I personally I really enjoyed the campaign and I’ve been playing since World at War, even the open world was pretty fun in my eyes. Though I didn’t like the ending much. The first black ops campaign’s last mission has been and is still my favorite ending and I wish they had more cinematic endings like that.
The reason high round s mutant injection spam is bc they don't let us get enough points to spam the traps instead. Which would be better gameplay imo because you would still have to avoid and shoot the zombies unlike killstreak spam
I’m not sure what TDawg was talking about with the open world missions. There was like 1 open world mission and it was very contained and the only one of its kind. Plus you don’t have to do the side quests. I hope Chopper develops his own opinion and ignores bros opinion.
Im enjoying Black ops 6, especially the multiplayer. It's fast & furious The campaign doesn't seem to have drawn me in as much, but I've only completed four missions of yet because i can not get out of multiplayer & just finished my first round of zombies 💥 PS,Area 99 Warzone is decent aswell
The campaign was good. Good mission design and fun different things for us to do. Now... Did it need a better villain? Yes. Saw the "twist" 1 min in. She wasn't interesting to me. It's all opinion based obviously but overall I think they did a good job. 100x better than the 3 recent MW reboots
Guys i love the podcast but there was only 1 "open combat" mission, and if you ignore the side objectives you can complete it in like 10-15 minutes, while the story is not amazing the campaign is still pretty solid, much love though
33:14 I've been saying this since the launch of Nuketown...THEY NEED TO INNOVATE. Don't get me wrong I love Nuketown but the way we play now and how fast the movment and TTK is, it's not working like back in BO1/BO2 days. I thought about how they can extend out the maps to the neighborhood down the street cuz I seen a zombie mod for WaW I think where u can go over there but the Bunker idea was diabolical they need TDawg for map design handsdown

Its the sbmm thats full of shit. I went a little positive in a few games and im talking like 32-16, 33-12, 27-11. After those games its been nothing but terrible sweat lobbies and the hardest games imaginable. The campaign was nearly perfect until the ending, it felt rushed and unsatisfying. I really thought the characters in this game were top tier for the franchise, with Sev and Marshall being pleasant surprises.
Honestly same. Despite MWIII's misgivings at launch SHG built up a lot of goodwill with the community with their communication and 6v6 content delivery.
I just really don't understand what you all meant by the campaign. It only has one open combat mission, it's the best campaign we've had in a long time, IMO.
HEAR ME OUT! BO4 was only 5v5 so they scaled Nuketown down to compensate for the absence of 2 players. Since then they've gone back to 6v6 and used the BO4 version of Nuketown as a blueprint for Cold War and Bo6. I have no proof but when you play BO1/BO2 the map looks much, much bigger. Or I'm just old and washed.
The campaign is so ass. if you put out a trailer with all these historical figures. and like none of them where actually in it. expect for that bs bill clinton moment. they missed the spot soo much ngl

I truly DETEST this game. I seriously hate this engine. I hate how easy zombies is. I hate how basic the Easter egg is. The boss fight for terminus is an absolute JOKE.
