I really like this soap, i fill the bowl with hot water to soften it for a quicker lather, i love the smell and slickness of it too. My grandad used this 40 years ago along with old spice.
I like the clean smell and price, I just find it could be better at a few things such as post shave feel. Not bought a new pot of it as I have so many other soaps to work through yet. One day I will get another.
I like this soap. It has a pleasant neutral soap scent, not the horrible synthetic scent you get from some cheap hand soaps. It's great for mixing with essential oils. Have you ever tried mixing essential oils with your shaving soap? This soap is a great base for that. I lather up the Wilkinson Sword soap into a bowl and then just put in a few drops of whichever essential oil fragrance I fancy, give it another whisk and it works well for me anyway.
Bought this and Ingrams about ten years ago. Thought they were sub standard. However, I have invested in some quality Semogue brushes. Bought these items again recently, no problems at all, both on my shopping list. Get a good brush and take time lathering, it's your face, take time.
Indeed! It's all about perspective, and definitely worth revisiting a product later down the line once experience is no longer against you. I suspect many people feel this way about products like Derby blades due to using them early on whilst the technique is less than stellar. It lathers fine for me, performs adequately, just doesn't have the best scent or post shave feel.
It's not the best soap in the world, and it's not the worst :) That said, it is easily available and better than canned foam/gel at a pinch if you're ever in need of some shaving soap :)

Been using this soap for over a year partially because of this video. Thank you.
Thank you Matthew, I hope you have found it helpful :)
I love the barbershop smell of it and it is really cheap. I suppose this is the reason why people snub at it.

I like using this soap, but it does dry my face out.
I will try with a preshave oil to see if that helps.
I like the soap . It works really well . It's only $3 in Canada .

Not in this particular soap I haven't, but something I might be tempted to try some day :)
I used this razor but changed over to the Parker 26C open comb, it's a mild open comb helps keep my blood on the inside.
I will give that razor a look as I'd like to add a milder open comb razor to my collection :)
Not having a strong smell Is okay.
It means it won’t clash with other scents in aftershave etc.

Beautiful video!!!
Thank you Marco :)
you made a brilliant lather out of that
Nice creamy soap, it works well buddy. Cheers
Thanks buddy, much appreciated :)
Did you dip the brush into water bf spinning for soapsud?
The brush was soaking prior to making a lather, and holds on to a decent amount of water :)
I really wish they would sell this wrapped in paper, so I could put it in my own shaving bowl.
The worst soap I've ever tried. I tossed it after several bad shaves.
Dosen't look very good...meaning the quality of the soap

Don't buy is hard and doesn't foam well at all !!
This soap is shit, it doesn't lather with a damn, doesnt provide any slickness but does smell nice.
I don't recommend this soap whatsoever.
When you spend time with it, it does lather reasonably well - and there are far better soaps readily available :)
Audio sucks! Adios! After 8 seconds.
