Thank you for posting this video!I recently went to Straved Rock State Park to see the waterfalls and they where very active.Got a video of some of the waterfalls on my most recent video.
Your Aurora Canyon label is on the Sac Canyon waterfall. The very next waterfall in in Kickapoo Canyon. The Lone Tree Canyon label is actually a place we call "No Name" Canyon because it was not marked on the 1914 Park map as a canyon. I enjoyed this video! I am the guided hike leader at the Lodge.
Thank you let letting me know. When I took the video (early June last year) was our first time at Starved rock state park. It was only a day trip so that's why I must have not paid attention to the names of the canyons. We came back on early May this year for a whole weekend. We stayed in one of the cabins. I was not able to take video this year, only pictures. I can say this place is my favorite part of Illinois. We were able to see all canyons this time, including the Council Overhang, Kaskaskia and Ottawa. I really enjoyed the trail to Illinois canyon.
I remember visiting the park as a kid and again in my 20s when we lived in IL, but I never realized there were that many canyons and that many falls. I know I stood behind one of the falls, but I don't know which one. Thank you for the beautiful video.
Going off the trails is an adventure, but it damages plant species and causes unnecessary erosion. In addition, it can compromise your safety. Just a reminder...
Yes, we went during Spring right after a storm. The visitor center and some other areas were off limits because of the flooding but we knew the falls would look amazing.
Nice overview of Starved Rock State Park. Why isn't there any video of wildlife that reside within the park? Video is too plain and should be upgraded and updated. This park is a showcase of natural beauty.
Thank you for your lovely footage. Great to finally see what Tonti Canyon looks like. It has been closed for over 2 years now after a terrible storm.
this DESERVES to be a national park i'm telling you
Beautiful place ! I wonder if its open , may 25,2020...
I hope they reopen i want to visit

I've never seen the waterfalls this active. Did you go during the spring? Great video.
Yes, we went during Spring right after a storm. The visitor center and some other areas were off limits because of the flooding but we knew the falls would look amazing.
What is the cost of getting in?
We did not have to pay for anything, except the food and the cabin. Entrance to the park is free.
I'm kinda late but it's free
@@RiverCoatl I heard they have a boat ride there. Is that true? If so, what's the cost?
50 dollars

i went to starve rock it was nice.
Any quick tips on camping out here?
Don't
Beautiful
I'm sick of seeing people go off trail. Those two at Lonetree Canyon should be embarrassed.
