A lot of Americans don’t know about them bc media don’t mention them. The American industry is scared of them bc how powerful the fans are. They were the first Korean to be #1 on billboard 100 .
it's the same thing in Europe. The media never talks about it and we don't hear it on the radio. I think the global music industry is scared by their immense success.

BTS or Bangtan Sonyeondan is Korean for Bulletproof Boyscouts AKA Beyond The Scene.They are not like any mediocre boy groups who only sing about love and heartbreaks. They are global A-listers. They're the only artist who got 3 number 1 albums in less than a year since The Beatles. They have broken records set by The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, One Direction etc. They are not just known for being great singers, rappers and dancers but also, their Korean lyrics are so deep, meaningful and inspirational. The message they send through their lyrics, music and artistry resonates with the general public because they tackle depression, anxiety, mental health, discrimination, social expectations, injustices, self love, hard work, following your dreams etc. They have 3 English songs Dynamite, Butter and Permission To Dance which they released during the height of the global pandemic to bring positive vibes and hope to all their fans (ARMY) across the world. Their 3 English songs are not really that deep compared to their Korean songs. The seven members are all songwriters, producers and composers. Although they have in-house producers, they are actively involve in writing, composing and producing their songs from their debut album in 2013 to their solo stuff until now. Their music genres include Pop, Disco-pop, Hip Hop/Rap, Latin Pop, EDM, R&B/Soul, Ballad, Funk, Synth Pop, New Age, Moombhaton, Electronica etc. Name it, they have it. As of March 2023, they have already won over a thousand awards including Artist of the Year in 2021 American Music Award and 12 Billboard awards plus individual awards with 36 Guinness World Record. BTS is from South Korea. They even have songs with over a billion views!
This is one of 3 songs of them that are in English. Most of their songs are in Korean with a little of English mixed in. So don't forget to put on the subtitles when you decide to react to them in the future because the lyrics are often very important.
Since they have a discography of over 300 songs with a wide range of styles, I find it difficult to give you a suggestion. Maybe you could react to 'festa 2021 BTS room live'. It consists of snippets of songs (mostly B-sides) from different albums over the years. It has no choreography but shows their versatility and the chemistry between the members.

PS New subscriber from Australia, and in my 70s and a member of the Silver Army (old people) who've seen it all from the beginning of Rock and Roll. BTS are the best there has ever been. They not only sing dance and rap, they write most of their own music and lyrics and can also produce. Be warned, the rabbit hole has about 300 songs.

Butter, Dynamite, and Permission to Dance are their all-English songs; these songs were put out in English as a way to comfort the ARMY, BTS fans, during the pandemic. BTS is known for their musicality, lyricism, performance, and personalities. They all participate in writing lyrics, melodies, and production. They have over 300 songs in various genres, so you can find songs that fit your taste. Personally, I love ballads, so I loved the songs that were sang by Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook (the vocalists). But Suga, j-hope, and RM (the rappers) turned me to like rap too. Currently, BTS are on a break from their group activity since June 2022 due to the S. Korean military conscription. Each of the members has debuted as soloists and had/will put out their own solo albums.
As an Asian-American myself, I am very proud of them for breaking into the main US music market, the first Asian group to do so.

Butter is the 2nd song from their English trilogy released during the pandemic to cheer up people. It's huge, it broke records everywhere.
If you decide to continue your journey on BTS, you will find that their discography is extensive and diverse. There's a videoessay by boracity magazine; an introduction to BTS discography that listed out their songs even before their debut in 2013. It also includes covers, remakes and collabs. Gotta warn you it's a long video.
I'm sure other ARMY (BTS fandom name) have listed out other songs and I second that. Just turn the cc on since their lyrics is important.

Second, I laughed out loud while grimacing when hearing you use the term Oriental. We aren’t rugs or lamps. Not angry, but felt the need to say that it is a belittling and racist term nowadays.
Most Asians find that term offensive because of the derogatory way it was used in America’s history: starting from colonization to internment camps to Korean and Vietnam wars, let alone the most recent Covid era. Now you know. Hope that knowing makes a difference to you.

Funny how so many people think Butter is a Bruno Mars song - genuinely honest mistake tho lol! But dang friend, you've been sleepin on BTS!😄Among hundreds of accolades/awards (they are worldwide record-breaking/chart topping artists...yeh, MJ would be proud!:), BTS are the first act in Billboard's history to chart songs in 3 different languages at once: Korean, Japanese and English (btw, a lot of BTS's Korean songs have English mixed into them)...and they've also performed parts in Spanish. Yep, these boys can no doubt flex their multi-lingual abilities, but they also do a range of different genres (Hip Hop/Rap, EDM, R&B, Pop, Latin Pop, Rock, etc). Each member also does solos on the side, charting individually too:)
As you know by now, BTS are a 7 member group from *South Korea* - a country in the continent of Asia. Asia is one of the largest continents in the world and the most populated (it includes China, Japan, Philippines, S. Korea and N. Korea, India and many other countries within it;)

BTS have God tier rappers & amazing vocalists. They are the biggest group on earth with 40 million fans. They are so so talented. Pick a genre & they have a song for that. Ya need to listen to their song Telepathy or Pied Piper.
4:10 michael Jackson would indeed be proud. One of their other english songs is called dynamite, youve probably heard it in the radio & in ads. Its retro disco pop, with tons of mj references, from the lyrics to the dance moves and the "woo ooohs". I mention this because Michael Jackson's cousin (i think its cousin, may be nephew idr) actually reacted to it, and loved it, and loved the mj refs. My recommendations:

7:27 their concerts are dope! I went to LA dec 2021. I saw them with my 18 yr old kid and 77 year old friend. There were all races, genders, ages and a lot of different nationalities. Hearing 70k ARMY singing with them wZ insane! And so hype. How they can sound better live, while dancing to insane chireos ill never know. Fyi, butter was an easy dance compared to most of their others

There is a MV for it and I know for sure u have heard Dynamite...unless you have been living underground literally. 😂 Also their MV's have subtitles just hit the CC button and set to english...because they have fire music and alot of it is in Korean sprinkled with english here and there. You definitely need to watch the On Kinetic Manifesto mv. It was filmed in LA and uses marching band music from UCLA . Its what got me hooked as ARMY.

It's nice to see more of my people discovering BTS. Thats how I found them... in 2022 after they did BUTTER at the Grammys. I was like, who are they? I am 53yrs old grandmother and my whole family think I am crazy for liking these South Koreans. Man, they have CHANGED my life. Their message in the lyrics, dancing while singing skills is like NO OTHER. I think its funny you thought that was Bruno... well that shows that music has not ethnicity. They do all genres. The RAPLINE is better than a lot of American rappers.

Yes to this! I first made the mistake of not turning on the subtitles. When I finally did, I was mad at myself lol Fake love is one that I love because of the lyrics and many others, of course.
The first rapper, in the green, is Suga AKA Agust D ….he just finished a solo tour and has 3 amazing solo mixtapes. The members are each doing solo work right now as they have to do a mandatory 18 months in the military. 2 members are already serving, Suga is next to leave and the group plans to reunite in 2025. The members also have solo songs on the regular BTS albums. Imo that’s why they are so strong…they let each member shine in their own right, then come together to be amazing as a group of brothers. 💜 welcome to the rabbit hole! It’s deep. They have A LOT of content. 300+ songs plus solo work, behind the scenes, dance practices, variety shows…and there is a full storyline that runs thru many MVs. They cover almost all genres so it would be hard not to find songs you like, I have very few that I don’t love.

Yes they are the best and biggest boy band in the world, 3 rappers and 4 vocalist and all of them dance, write and produce 90% of the 300 over songs and several award winning albums in their discography. If you listen carefully to their music, you can hear seriously cool, quirky instrumentation and damn good bass backing, that is out of this world! Listen to some of their other hits, like, Not Today, Yet to come, On, Idol and Blood Sweat and Tears, you will find in these sampling of just a few songs that the bass and instrumentation are phenomenal, not to mention their dance and styling! I must say, they are better than Bruno Mars whom I adore. Welcome to the rabbit hole.
