    Extremely helpful, Alex! A genius way to store those foams / pads! Otherwise, they end up all over the place or I can't tell which is original Distress and which is Oxide!

    I've always stored ALL of my inks as you show and some of the ink pads are 15 years old and still juicy. That said, when you look at a store display, packaged ink pads that come in sets are displayed vertically, hanging from pegs. Same with markers. I store my markers horizontally. I never store my markers standing up except for the Jane Davenport Mermaid markers. She specifically says they should be stored upright with the brush end at the top. I know this is getting off topic, but it IS about product storage. Thanks for the informative videos.

    REALLY super helpful, thanks so much! I was going to store my foams on the bottom of each, but I store the pads stacked, so you helped me avoid wasting time with that method. Thanks!!

    I have some of the Tim Holtz blenders and pads for my distress mini ink pads. I keep my inks in a container upside down. I’ve had them about a year now and most are still juicy. I need to play with them more often, for sure. Thanks for the tips, Alexandra! ~ katz baugh

    Velcro has two sides/conterparts : hook & loop. Hook is the scratchy side ( that has to "hook" to the soft side) Loop is the soft stuff.

    TFS... great tip of the Nuvo blenders affordability and angled use. I LOVE YOUR STORAGE DRAWERS! The inks fit perfectly! I can’t wait to see you up coming your. I’m looking for ideas to store my patterned paper & cardstock and I’m a visual creator. I prefer to see what I have without needing to dig through a bunch of files or drawers ... please advise if you have already addressed this in an earlier presentation. Thanks again & God Bless 🙏🏻

    Beautiful ink storage. I ordered the nuvo ink blending daubers and I am anxious to try them. They seem to be a better fit in the hand than the ranger handle. Unfortunately Tonic was out of stock on the foam pads. I will keep trying to get them as I think they are a good price point.

      Julia Handley They are made by Tonic, a company based in Wales, so you should be able to get them from any craft retailer. Alexandra (the lady in this video) says in the video that she is offering a discount if you buy from her.

    Can you do a comparison video of the danger foams and the nuvo ones. The newer ranger foams are terrible, the black felt piece disintegrates after multiple uses so I'm in the marker for new foam.

    Hi, You seem to have so many stamp and dies, what do you do when you want to down size the amount of product you have? I have discovered that I do not use so many of my dies and stamps, in fact most of what I have, have never been used. I would love to down size to about a third or fourth of my supplies. I know this has been a long comment. Sorry. Thank you for your ideas. Sheila Jennings

    I used to store my blending foams this way, but I stopped. When I stacked the pads on top of each other, the blending foams colored the pad below in whatever color I used. (Oxides take forever to dry in the foam.) I can see how this would be useful if you stored every pad in 1 layer (like you have in your drawer), but I don't have the space for that and need to stack them. (It seems like the foams would color the bottom of your drawer, too.)

  • @lemonsqueezycrafts6818
    @lemonsqueezycrafts6818 5 років тому

    Be sure to put something as a barrier when you store ink pad and blender this way. Otherwise, the ink on the blender will transfer to the drawer.

    • @HedgehogHollow
      @HedgehogHollow  5 років тому

      Mine does a little but they always go in the same drawer int he same spot and its water based so it will always wipe off but you could always put a barrier down if you wanted to

    • @amkarei
      @amkarei 4 роки тому +1

      A good barrier sheet -- AND inexpensive -- would be a sheet of FREEZER PAPER (paper coated with plastic on one side). It also works well to cover your work surface while doing messy crafting. I've used it, too, to smoosh ink onto card stock, and to blend inks when I don't have just the right shade (like a T.H. glass mat, but without the fear of dropping and breaking it when switching from that to my cutting mat.)

  • @AggieScrapMom
    @AggieScrapMom 5 років тому

    I've always been told it's better to store your inkpads with the pad facing down, but I noticed you do not. What is your opinion of that?!?

    • @HedgehogHollow
      @HedgehogHollow  5 років тому +9

      So I have heard all sorts; but I took my advice from Tim Holtz and the Ranger chemists who explain that ink is a suspended medium and how you store ink pads makes no difference. I have tested this; i have some inks stored on their sides, some upside down and some face up; all three have been like it for a year and there has been no change to any pad

    • @AggieScrapMom

      Tim Holtz says it’s not an issue which direction your ink pads are stored. HTH

    • @shellyp8731
      @shellyp8731 5 років тому +2

      I’ve heard Tim say that too, but be careful of storing Oxides on their sides. I did this and some of my Oxide ink pads leaked slightly. After the leaks, I did some research and read not to store Oxides on their sides, but after this tip from HH, I looked everywhere on Rangers website, and I could not find anything regarding not storing Oxides on their sides. I’m sorry I can’t remember where I heard or read this advice, But I follow it now, and I don’t store them on their sides anymore. Hope this helps. : )

    Well thank goodness the original blenders were made by Ranger and not MSP otherwise Tonic (or anyone else who tried to improve on something to make a better product) would be sued. Would be a lonely crafting world of sad, stagnant products (not to mention grossly overpriced products) if everyone followed the MSP model and sued the crap out of anyone who made anything that even resembled their product in the slightest.

    • @amkarei

      It totally astounded me to see that the m**ti lawsuit was deemed valid!! The STAMPARATUS, with its 4-way possible stamping was, in my mind, an advancement akin to going from manual spark advancement to automatic transmissions on autos. Could you see us all driving ONLY FORDS if the same mentally held BACK THEN!?!
