" Thank You David " For all you are doing and all of the Hard Work to bring all these Episodes to life. I've watched since the beginning and enjoyed everyone all of them and I'm from the Old School @61 You are doing a Great thing !!!!
David, Cool that Norm brought up Rocky Williams. He was Davey Williams brother. Davey was one of the first team DG riders along with Bob Hannah. They traveled to races for a few years in the DG van. 😊
That’s why I can’t wait for who you’re gonna bring on next, these stories are so awesome and would never be told if you didn’t start this so much history with how our sport got to where it is now and this was another great one! Thank You for working so hard to capture these for history and us!❤🙏🇺🇸💪🗽
David, wonderful interview of Norm Bigelow. I worked with with Norm at the Kawasaki Parts Dept for four yrs. I haven't talked with Norm for a few yrs, but your interview reminded me of Norm's awesome career. John Luck
Really enjoyed the podcast I used to live in Dana point and my cousin was friends with Jeff Ward. They went to school together. I had the 81 YZ 125 and my cousin had the 82 I think it was back in 84. We had an afterschool motocross session. My cousin made arrangements to meet up with Jeff in the Laguna Hills out on the trails Just Jeff said, follow me and me and my cousin tried to follow Jeff. He was going on the side of the hill in 4 foot high weeds driving everywhere that wasn’t even a trail. I wasn’t sure if that was some sort of practical joke or he was serious however, I wasn’t about to go driving my bike through the weeds for nobody I bought my bike in El Toro from a body shop owner named Bobo He said it was like a works bike and it was hauling ass fast For some reason or another, it needed a new pipe so I called up DG and asked them if they had a pipe for my bike. They said they’d call me back. They get back to me about that and then they called and said if I bring my bike to their shop in Anaheim, they would make me a brand new pipe and make new tooling molds in order to re-manufacture the high-performance pipe and they changed out my reeds in order to perfectly tune it to the pipe Took the bike over to Saddleback Raceway Park was laying down some hot laps on the practice track it was super dusty and rocky Three guys on KX is showed up We had about a 20 lap Moto I stuck to those guys like glue, but I did not try to pass them. I was just having fun tagging along. Not to burst my own bubble or anything, but we were just on the minibike track On the real race track was a whole different story. There was suicide mountain it was dangerous on the way up and dangerous on the way down. This track had a lot of elevation It seemed like we were riding up on the canyon wall down into the valley and up the hill on the other side not to mention the whoop section was the gnarliest I had ever seen I’m originally from Florida and I was not used to all of that. I remember the jet ski shop in Dana point I used to go in there and look at the jet skis and dream about having one Then my cousin bought two and we used to go to Mission Bay The water was a little cold that day when we were all done jet skiing my cousin was freaking out One of his balls went missing. It was so hilarious. His mom and his dad were under the towel trying to help him find it. I was laughing my ass off. thanks again your podcast really brought back all kinds of memories I will subscribe and like
