      I've done this, in a different context, but similarly. It's one hundred and ten percent dependent on where that person is in their life now and how aware of the horror they did was. If they're looking for excuses anywhere, nope. But it can happen that people are wholly different than they were.

    It makes me sad that so many people in the comments refuse to acknowledge that Timothy has spent years trying to make amends for all of his wrongdoings and just assume he's trying to cover everything up. This is why we can't solve any current social issues, this is why were not seeing change.
    Forgiveness is important. Stop playing the blame game. People change.

    To anyone having a bad day, you are beautiful. Always acknowledge that 😊 look in the mirror confidently and say, I love myself no matter how anyone thinks of me. Being beautiful on the inside is what matters and outside beauty is nothing compared to inside beauty. For anyone who is being bullied of your body image, weight or looks, stop for a moment and think, "Why am I here? I was born for a reason." Everyone was born for a reason. You are valued in life and to have you taken away takes something away from the world.
    Have a great day and more days to come 😘

      To be honest,I would probably have a huge fear of most men if I had been abused by one at 13,which is the same age the man in the video's bother was murdered.Is that not the same concept? Im not justifying his racism,but the mental trauma he suffered at such a young age is worth noting.

    • @Ninja_Bryden
      @Ninja_Bryden 8 років тому +28

      +Simplicity Logan I was not being sarcastic. I hate it when SJWs think white people today owe them something when it was not even people today who oppressed them back in the day. These SJWs today were most likely not even alive when actual oppression was going on.

    People in these comments show how close-minded we all are to change, how unwilling we are to let people change themselves for the better. Honestly I think this video is great in helping show how great it can be when we are able to accept that people made horrible decisions and that they regret them; taking action to amend for their mistakes as a human being.

    Society has placed this burden of forgiveness onto victims as if it releases them from some sort of hell. I don't want to be friends with someone who committed a disgusting act against me. I won't come back and try to harm you but I certainly won't sit next to you in an amicable manner. It isn't my job to make a person feel better about the crime they committed even if they do change. I can move on but it's not my obligation to shake hands and go out for coffee with my attacker.

    • @hallieroseamat
      @hallieroseamat 8 років тому +6

      I don't think (in this vid at least) they're trying to say you have to forgive someone who hurt you in any way, but that it is possible if you do feel that'll give you closure. For the victim in this, I think he felt better for forgiving one of his attackers and seeing that the attacker had genuinely changed and was remorseful. Victims should do whatever they are comfortable with and what they feel is best for their wellbeing.

    At some point I think we are all victims of something regardless of race or sexual orientation. As a teenager I was sitting on a bench with my friend and this group of black guys started walking our way. I reminded myself not to be racist but I had an uneasy feeling nonetheless. I kept my face on my friend (who was talking) and made no eye contact with them. YET, I was punched in the face as they walked by us. They all started laughing and kept walking. So, even though the "in" thing is to make white people look bad, things happen in reverse, too. That is why I just attribute it to humans in general. This is partly why I don't consider myself racist at all. These sort of acts are really about the individual and what is going on in their lives at the time to make them commit an assault, etc. I believe most can be rehabilitated. I am SO happy to watch this video and hear this story. It sort of proves my own theory.

      Squeaker Studios well he said he feared blacks in general and was clearly in a white supremacist group. So you cant blame me for asking.

      Probably not considering he left the supremacist group.

      its not really racist i mean it KINDA is but its more or less fear because he thought instantly in his mind that if they went after his brother and killed him why not him. Take me for example im scared of bugs and i don't necessarily want to kill them because they deserve life like you and me but i am scared that the might kill me or infect me. I know how it sounds racist but really he is scared for is own life. He isn't just scared of black people but people not like him because he know that if people are like him they also value not just his own life but theirs.

      i can understand his fear of blacks i grown up with my mom who dated mostly black men and they all were horrible and even abusive to me and i grow a fear of all men but mostly black males yet i don't hate them or an a racist I was just scared of the ones like "gangsters, woman abuser types" but i grew out of it... just my random two cents

      He said he left the racial group and I think he is better but there might still be a fear. He is friends with a gay guy so hopefully he isn't prejudice.
