It's not just the music. Compare the fight choreography. The camera angles are different but the fight is very close to the same.

I was a Trek fan when there was one show and no movies. When the TOS music started playing in this episode, I hopped up and down like an 8 year old. I am not kidding. I’ve been waiting 43 years for that itch to be scratched.

Oh man, growing up I must have seen every episode 10 times on reruns. I appreciate all the Trek series, some stuff I don’t like but there a great episodes in all the series. But your right I’m sitting there watching this thinking damm, Captain Pike is now the Best captain of them all! And they are on the original Enterprise no less.

Any body hates on this Trek is not a Trek Fan. Personally I think people hating on all the other series don’t get what Star Trek is all about to begin with. That said SNW ‘s is so good!
Star Trek is about, as Q put it in the end of TNG, "exploring the unknown possibilities."
It's not mainly about war, politics, cultural and racial dynamics like how they did in Discovery.
It's not simply about trying to make peace with the past like Picard is.
It's not simply about human concepts like vengeance and love as it is in the movies, including the Kelvin timeline.
Star Trek, is, has been, and always must be, about exploring that which is, again as Q put it "out there.". It's all about adventure. Yes they explore themes like politics, war, love, friendship, hatred, technology, economics, family, liberalism, the humanities. But for the most part Star Trek is about, as Pike put it "the power of possibility.".

Yeah, it's well established that Spock never had any bad dreams until TOS season 1 episode 16, The Galileo Seven. During which his failures of leadership caused him to have night terrors for the next few years of his life. I hope whoever made that mistake is fired and blackballed from writing for no less than 10 years
