i am speaking from ignorance, but isnt it relatively easy to transpose the music from one instrument to another? all of the genius was in creating bwv1043, and 1062 was just busy work, no?
@@swank8508 Basically, yes, at least for the author. Note, however, that the work was not just a trivial transposition one tone lower - it was necessary to add additional voices for the left hands (mainly, one new voice, because as a rule, the left hand of one or the other harpsichord doubles the basso continuo).
Lovely version, thanks for uploading :) may I ask why there are question marks with some notes though? I have no idea why they're there. Thanks in advance!
Which one was first: 1043 or 1062? From the number it's 1043, but I'm just curious, as 1062 was composed 2 Harpsichords or pianos, and 1043 for 2 violins.
Genius! A concerto for 2 violins rewritten for 2 harpsichords! Just genius!
We miss you Bach!
And, so do I !
I was coming here to say that, but apparently I'm 6 years late

The left hand part at 1:19 is incredible. The violin concerto has no such line, it's refreshing to hear something new.
And the syncopation used as well is genius
This channel is amazing. I can't imagine how much work there is to make this videos.
Bach was a genius transcribing the music of other geniuses, including himself! Wait....is that right? lol
Ikr lol
Pozdrawiam

The Harpsichord has a 5 Octave Range (F1-F6) & I believe that the top note in the Violin parts for the Violin version was G6.
But C Minor also has a pretty good charakter on the harpsichord
@@danielfunk9126 Yes. I just love C minor, period, it's one of my favorite keys, and definitely my favorite minor key.
Wonderful work, gerubach
At first I was genuinely confused why this was labeled as 1062 when 1043 already existed. Now I understand.
Really beautiful !!! Thanks for putting the score together
Ahhhhhh finallllyy!
Thanks for uploading!

They probably mark places where the source material was a bit shoddy and the editor had to make an educated guess.
I thought so too, thank you for the reply!
So far I've counted three. Guess we will never know how it was meant to be in the original manuscript.
Das Beste ist das Stück mit 2 Orgeln, z.B. beim Bodenseefestival 1995, Collegium Musicum St. Gallen (K. Raas und S. Thomas, Ltg. M.Schwarz.
Awesome
I love you George ❤

The first one was BWV 1043, Bach later adopted it to BWV 1062
Violins first then adapted for 2 harpsichords
The BWV numbers are not chronological.
@@michaeltraub3614 Right, it's strictly genre based, not even the Chronological within genre based system you get with say the Hoboken catalogue.
Cant find the individual parts, someone can help me?
Oh for f***'s sake, people - name the performers up front! They deserve the respect.
I was so confused at the beginning
The string motif in the first bar reminds me of the Inspector Gadget theme. Does anyone else feel this way?
BWV 1043?
Yes, it's an arrangement that Bach did himself for two harbsichords.
