I drove on the highway in the alps a few years ago and i remembered there were beacon lights either flashing or permanently lit up (maybe 20-40 lights) on the center divider wall, and i was wondering what are these lights on for? Being a safe driver i slowed down thinking it was a warning system. Sure enough, there was a single vehicle accident ahead on a blind curve. The vehicle was blocking the left lane of two lanes. My question is, is this an actual warning system to warn drivers there is something wrong ahead and drivers should slow down? I’ve always wondered this. If you have the answer, would you please advise me? Thank you.
