Thanks, to Debbie for the recommendation. This last segment short version of Diva Dance is what we want to share and for you to enjoy. Next, for your consideration, Cedric; Dimash & Li Yugang - Drunken Concubine + Diva Dance. ua-cam.com/video/dW98m4wo9h0/v-deo.html

the diva dance is from the soundtrack of the fifth element and, as it was sung by an alien here, was written to be unsingable by a human voice. several singers - all female - have tried, but dimash came closest to the original ;)

You shouldn't miss the third version of the Diva Dance, which is embedded in the Chinese song Drunken Concubine in a duet with Beijing Opera singer Li Yugang. The Diva Dance part is actually a vocal battle between Li Yugang and Dimash, guess who wins. And the rest of the duet is simply amazing, no one has ever heard something like that.

Agree that Cedric shouldn't miss Dimash singing with Li Yugang during the Singer 2017 Spring Festival break. Not sure I agree (respectfully) that he and Li Yugang were in a "vocal battle".
If you want to see Dimash vocally battle someone, check out his battle on stage at the Jackie Chan Action Film Festival with his Singer 2017 BFF, Terry Lin! They have such respect for each other that you can tell from the start that these guys have agreed to leave it all on the stage - singing Dimash's original song, Unforgettable Day, which Terry was most moved by on the Singer. I can watch this video EVERY day! hehe

The lyrics to Confessa make the interplay between Dimash and the dancer even more understandable--basically:
"I'm no more in your thoughts
I'm no more your true love
I'm the sweet with the bitter bottom
    That you no longer eat.

But why are you another woman?
Why are you not yourself anymore?
Why didn't you say it before?
Whoever doesn't love will never be loved."
A cute bit I notice every time I see this version. While the music is transitioning from Confessa to the Dive Dance, when the music changes its style, they show a shot (at about 9:20) of his competitors--I think members of the group "The Lion"? Don't quote me on that. Anyway, they're leaning forward in anticipation, and one of them has a grip on another's knee--like "OMG, WHAT'S HE GOING TO DO NEXT??" It makes me laugh every time.

@ Mel Brod....Another great reaction from the lead singer of The Lion Band, Jam, is on the Hello video of The Singer2018 when Dimash was a guest. Mind you, he heard all of Dimash's performances from the year before but look at the amazement on his face when he hears Hello. He appears towards the end, dressed in a tan jacket with a darker shirt. He's still being mind blown. 😁😁🤗

I love the way he starts Confessa in Chinese to draw audience in then switches to Italian which is proper lanuage for this song. I also love the contrasts between the 2 songs. I agree that his Bastau Diva Dance rendition is so much more incredible. 🤩🤩🤩

That was a great reaction!😃 I really enjoyed it Cedric, actually " Diva Dance" is a performance of an alien from the movie "5th Element" starring Bruce Willis and Milla Jovovich. The song is computer generated because no one can sing it. Dimash is a "vocal beast", kills, sings even better than the computer version.😂❤❤❤

Only certain notes of the Fifth
Element's Diva Dance were computer generated. The Blue Alien was an actual opera singer.

I checked your Dimash playlist and realized that you haven’t reacted to any of his wonderful duets with Chinese artists yet. May I suggest you react to the following ones? I would love to know what you think about them. Also, I’m certain that you will enjoy the songs. Here are the links below:

Bastau is closer to the Diva Dance sung by the blue alien in the Fifth Element movie. Did you know that part of the song for the movie was computer generated because it was determined that the human voice was unable to change notes quickly enough to sing the runs? It was rendered impossible to sing and Dimash, once again, disproves the theory. He's soooo AMAZING!! ❤

    Hi, love your reactions
The first performerance was at The Singer In China 2017, If you have not seen all of that, please do, you will see what he could do then, at 22. That was where he sang SOS, first, then Opera 2, then Show Must Go On and Adagio, really really good.
The second Diva Dance was at the Bastau concert, a fantastic concert, still in 2017, so
he may have been 23? You can see he is sweating, he had been performing for about 2 hrs by then. Please watch all of that concert, especially for Daididau, where there are 100 Dombra players. You will love it and I'm sure you will have many good insights so please let us know.
Looking forward to your reactions to Dimash, he is phenomenal.
PS I am going to his concert in Turkey in May. I hope you get to one of his concerts, you will be completely blown away, he is actually better in person and his connection to his fans, Dears, is incredible. Such a great talent and a lovely man.
    Have a great day. Cheers

I believe when Dimash performs he serves the song and works hard to include the audience into the music. He works incredibly hard with much discipline, insatiable learning, growing and mastering some of the older and possibly ancient arts from multiple tribes and cultures. I’m sure he is creating completely new techniques as he creates his Neoclassical genre. However, it’s important to remember in the earlier part of his career, he was competing more and with that comes a different strategy where he needs to take advantage of all his hard work. He must create an incredible, impressive, surprising moments that complement the song AND impress the judges. Although I believe his priority is to always entertain the judges and carry the audience through an amazing journey and/or performance, a competition has a different goal. I also believe that people don’t consider whether he’s in a competition where demonstrating his unique but incredible control and range is important in each video. I think you must find out why he is performing a certain song because is sometimes changes his presentation.

  • @diarchos5019
    @diarchos5019 Рік тому +2

And to think he was just 22 when he competed on this show - The Singer 2017 - where, as you know, he came runner up.
The Bastau concert performance is mind boggling apparently performed towards the end of his three hour concert - his first large scale concert in his home country in front of 30,000 of his countrymen and fans from around the world after his success in China.
The Singet is worth watching, not only for Dimash’s performances (his must watch performances Autumn Strong, Daybreak, Unforgettable Day, Queen cover The Show Must Go On) but also for some of the other competitors - all established, professional Chinese singers and the high production values of the show.
Thanks for another great reaction to Dimash 🙏🏻🇦🇺

And they are suppose to be professionals. But you probably have the best technical assessment and critique and this is a new song for me. I will pay money even for just one song of Dimash live. Because I one song from him is worth the price as everytime he sings he becomes the song. Thanks and keep at it. I appreciate reactions the more a professional does it and you seem to be the one.

When Dimash performed it (with the dancer) in China he was only 21 years old ! For those who were too young to know, "the diva dance"'s song was performed by an alien in the mega hit film "The fifth element" (director Luc Besson). At that time they had to mix a soprano voice with a computer because no human could do it... now we have Dimash nothing is no longer impossible !

Confessa & The Diva Dance was the 12. song in the historical competition “The Singer 2017”. Confessa" is a story of a man whose heart is broken after being betrayed by his lover, originally sung by the famous Italian singer and actor Adriano Celentan: ua-cam.com/video/kKfybNLrFUA/v-deo.html Dimash sings the first verse in Mandarin (tribute to his audience), the 2nd in Italian (original)…
…and then the blue alien-lady song (movie: "5th Element" with Milla Jojovich and Bruce Willis) …The song that should be unsingable. In the film it is electronically edited. Many singers (male or female) have tried. Nobody sings this song as perfectly as Dimash. He is the only person in the world who sings this song flawlessly. He reaches the highs as well as the lows effortlessly and he delivers all riffs and runs and staccati accurately.
When Dimash fell on his back and lay down at the end of the song, a worried viewer called out: Get an ambulance!
That 2. video is from Dimash's first solo concert called „Bastau/ Begin“. After returning from the Singer competition (2017, China), the Kazakh government of his hometown was so impressed with Dimash's success that they sponsored Dimash's first solo concert entitled "Bastau/ Begin" In preparation for the concert, Dimash worked so hard that he lost a lot of weight. His family was very concerned.... but the concert was great. It blows your mind!

👏👏👏The first song (Confessa) is a very well known and sad Italian love song 💕💕💕 and the second one is Diva Dance from the film The 5th Element 😊😊😊 If you have never seen it, it is an ET opera singer. They used computers for the hardest parts … The film is worth watching, if you haven’t watched it, you should!!!

Cedric, you are absolutely entertaining and uplifting as well as inspiring. I always get a takeaway from you.
A vocal coach that I adore called The Fairy Godmother. She gives an amazing overview of the anatomical structures, how they work and what their positions contribute to a performance and techniques. She’s also hilarious. I’d encourage you to start with her analysis of S.O.S. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

    1) : you did contribute, for me, with noticing and putting in writting on the screen *double-pedal bass drum* : I have watched this performance 100 times, and *never* noticed, so focused I was on his voice 😆 So thank you for that 😊 I`ll enjoy those beats each time I`ll watch the performance again in the future :)
    2) : That was the "impossible" song from the *movie Fifth Element* - Bruce Willis, Mila Jovovich, and the blue alien diva singing this at the opera :) ( that`s why in Bastau there were the women in long blue dresses suspended above the stage ) Dimash is kinda the only guy who can nail this song 😁 Now, I`m on to checking out the movies in your list 😊👍

Great reaction!!! When you listen to Dimash, all the criteria you had about singers, music, vocal technique are reevaluated. Everyone is amazed but few really recognize his unmatched talent. he is the best singer of all time regardless of genre or personal taste because no one, no one has been able to reach his level of vocal histrionics. He is a living legend!! 🎤❤️🔝🌹🌹👏👏👏👏👏👏

Thank you for another great reaction! Also, you always contribute, even just seeing what impresses you is interesting, because you know a lot more about vocal and performance technique than i do. LOL though... just before you said your last words, i was thinking, man, this beer is making me tired, i should sleep more but i can't... And then you say, drink lots of water, sleep, fix your posture (i'm slouching against a wall). Sigh. 😅😅 have a great day, Cedric 😁!

As a completely pointless side note, my 6-year-old heretic daughter does not like Dimash's songs, but oddly enough, if *I* happen to be singing Diva Dance around the house, she asks for more. Like, seriously? Pretty sure Dimash would have hard time not cringing if he heard me. (He is extremely nice but also extremely transparent, it was very funny to watch his facial expressions when he was judging the New Wave singing competition 2 years ago.)

Considering that Diva Dance (5th Element, alien singer) was supposed to actually be impossible for someone to sing.....I feel like Dimash heard it and said, "Challenge accepted."
He does a duet with Li Yugong called "The Drunken Concubine," wherein they initially take turns singing the aforementioned song, but also mix Diva Dance into the middle of it, ending back with original song. I encourage you to watch that performance. You've watched and heard him perform DD twice, yet I think you will find my suggestion just as jaw-dropping as these.

I discovered your channel this evening and have watched a few of your Dimash reactions and enjoyed every one of them so far. Please, Cedric, don't be concerned about pausing the video you're reacting to, it is, after all, a reaction video - YOUR reaction - and just like Dimash has his style, you do too. If people want to watch uninterrupted, they can easily do so. But really, people coming to your channel want to watch your reaction to a song they have probably already heard a thousand times. I do understand that some viewers feel frustration when a video is paused just before something significant is about to happen, because they feel that you're missing out on the impact. As a reactor hearing a song for the first time, you don't know what's coming and that's just part and parcel of the reaction game. Don't be intimidated, stick to the style you're comfortable with, and if sometimes you get it wrong, don't be apologetic. Instead just celebrate the fact that you're human!

@@CedricGegel1 Dimash often gives visual clues of an imminent significant moment, the most obvious being removing an in-ear monitor (Confessa is a very obvious example). Another move is when he pushes - almost throws - the microphone away then draws it back for the next magnificent display of his talent. Over time, one can learn to read this body language and as you're an actor, singer and filmmaker I'm sure it's something you are already aware of. I'm looking forward to "Hello" and perhaps the 2019 Idol Hits version of "Screaming". Warning - if you do this version of Screaming, avoid pausing between 2:20 and 2:57 LOL. Love your work!

Hey, Cedric! Been a while. Hope you're doing well. It's been a rough Monday morning in my rainy world. One of my close coworkers got fired this morning. It came out of the blue too. But I'm looking on the bright side and trying to keep a cheerful spirit. I knew I needed some Dimash on my lunch break and watching you go through 17 different existential crises just over Diva Dance would make my day. I was so right. 😂 The first time I heard Dimash sing Diva Dance I had to rewatch it a few dozen times ... in a row ... I am not ashamed, and my jaw still drops anytime I listen to it. The masterful control is out of this world, and it brings me so much adrenaline and joy to watch someone so proficient at their craft pop the heck off.
