Nice to see you managing to get a day back on the river. Typical Ayrshire weather, never know what you’re going to get. Having the same problems down here, Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire with the amount of stuff on the water due to the wind. Getting harder on the still waters due to the water temperature going up. Keeps it interesting though.😊
It's been a difficult season so far Davie. I went up the Tay for a change of scenery today, i think i took the low water and dreadful downstream gusts of wind with me.

What stretch of the Doon is this ? I'm having a go in all the famous rivers- dee esks spey tay doon stinchar etc etc, day tickets, has to obviously be stretches I can access easily as I'll have no local knowledge unless I have a ghillie. Thanks in advance for any info

Hi @user-qi7vw5xc3z , I have though it's been a few years since I did as I used to be in a club that fished it every year but I'm no longer a member..I've had a few blanks but my best day was 25 fish though half of them were rainbows which were amazing just like the brown trout...
