    The worst part would be running into people from California lol
    Jokes aside, never lived in Utah but visited for quite some time. I found it to be somewhat of a mix of Midwest/slightly southern in feeling of the locals. There was a certain honesty and 'what you see is what you get' from folks, typical of the midwest, but there was this slowness in time, atmosphere, etc that's typically southern US. I didn't even mind at all and thought it was fantastic, especially how the vast majority of people were decent hearted and friendly. I think the only thing that really caught me off guard was going to a Walmart's and seeing 'traditional' mormon clothing for men and women on sale. Can't say I've ever seen anything remotely close to that anywhere else in the US with traditional clothing of any time. Great video and thanks for sharing it all with us!

      Thank you for sharing your experience with us! I think most of it is spot on.
      When you say traditional Mormon clothing, do you mean like 18th century dresses? That is what FLDS folks wear, I have never seen it on sale at Walmart before that’s interesting.

    I am always amazed at people who move here, knowing what the culture is like, or should know, and then complain about it and want it to change (because more people drinking and driving is a good thing?)

    • @stgeorge
      @stgeorge  4 місяці тому

      Right? I never understood the concept of moving some place to try to change it.

    I will say the restaurant selection is not great, but I came from Dallas and thats not a fair comparison. I miss TexMex food. My biggest annoyance is every other vehicle has the loudest exhaust only to be outdone by the next vehicle or motorcycle. No regrets though. Southern Utah is an amazing place.

    • @stgeorge
      @stgeorge  4 місяці тому

      I couldn’t agree with you more. Southern Utah needs more good food. It seems like the food scene is growing, but it won’t compete with Dallas, Chicago or Denver any time soon.
      Loud pipes save lives… unless they are on a Honda civic… then there are better options

      @@stgeorge This is the only reason I'm 100% on board with the EV movement. They are silent.

      @@UtahNick71 Well the EV batteries catch on Fire. Just in the news here in Florida a kids battery in her/his reading book caught on fire in the hot car. EV do not work in cold areas either when fully charged you go out in the cold and the charge is reduced 50%. In the news a EV has caught on fire with no one around the car but the battery needs installation or some do catch on fire. You will Never get any of this in a gas engine so good luck with the EV cars. Many like Ford and Toyota are rethinking these EV's.

    I moved from Saint George to Texas the end of last year. Since I moved to UT when I was 9 from Hawaii with my family I can’t really say I regret anything due to not having any control of the decision to move 😂 but the summer heat is unbearable. I also wish there were more affordable grocery stores in the area/variety of food cuisines. But I’m sure they will come with time

    • @stgeorge

      I totally agree, we need more good food! Where in Hawaii? It seems like there’s a connection between St George and Oahu, we have a lot of friends that moved here from Oahu.

    My wife and I bought property and built a house in Cedar City because I can’t take the heat in St. George. The only negative about Cedar City is the wind but if I need anything special that Cedar City doesn’t offer it’s only a 40 minute drive down to St. George.. George

      I couldn’t agree more. I think it’s always ironic how much more likely people are to share their negative experiences or general dislikes vs praising something that was great or went as planned. So it’s totally natural
