That sucks they don't play nice with the stock tires. I do like the planetary covers and they are good looking. I would snip the inner bead ring off of the wheel and run em but I am sure it aint that easy! I hope you figure out a good way of running them! They look really cool!
Hi Addam, I'm gonna just go for some JConcepts rubber for the wheels (more of a difference than I thought). When I get the tires, the video will explain everything. Thanks for the view & comment man!!!
Hi there Bob, a great detailed overview of the JConcepts tribute wheels. They are really large bad boys, will need big boots! 😊best wishes to you and the family 😊
Awesome.. I'm gonna wait and see what answers I get, I need to know for sure (again, I got nothing against JConcepts tires tho). But I did want to use Imex Baja Tires..
Hi Bob, very interesting, dude and a great looking set of wheels especially with those insets! Too bad about the rim dimensions, bad on JConcepts for forcing you to use their tyres. Not sure what I'd do really, bit of a conundrum there! Good luck with whatever you try my friend! ATB, cheers 🍻
Hi Mark, I think I'm going to get JConcepts tires for those wheels (I'll explain in the video when I get the tires). I do like the JConcepts tires (a few to choose from too) as they give better traction & handling over stock Clod tires. ATB back at ya my friend!!
Hey Bob! Interesting video fella. That looks like a cool kit, bet they would look awesome on the Grey edition clod. Interesting regarding the molding marks in the grey plastic.....it least they will match the shell! 🤣 Bet the wider wheel base would make the rig more stable with the hub extensions? Just a shame about the standard clod tires not fitting eh? Be interesting to see if you can find a way round it! 👍 👍 👍 👍
HELLO THERE UNCLE BOB CAN YOU PUT J CONCEPTS WHEEL ON CLOD BUSTER TIRES I WAS TOLD THAT CAN BUT YOU HAVE TO CUT 1'16 OF THE BEAD ON CLOD BUSTER TIRES ?????
I never tried and I forget what tire has the wider bead.. If the JConcepts tire has the wider bead, yes, you need to cut them to use on stock Clod wheels.. However, that said, just get the wheels & tires from JConcepts as you can change the off set and do look much better & more scale...
About 10 bucks more a pair for the JConcepts BUT, with 3 different widths, might be a reason, HOWEVER, if you have to use JConcepts tires (@ $36 bucks a pair) it adds up. Hell, it all adds up anyway.
What a bummer Bob, trying to force you to use their own brand tyres. Honestly if it were me I would cut the inner rim off and try the other wheels. If it doesn't work then chalk it up to a bad experience but I wouldn't be ordering anything from them again for a very long time if ever. ATB mate and stay safe my friend.
It's not all that bad Rob, I mean, you can't put Toyota parts on a Honda either, right? I don't have an issue with JConcepts tires cause they do look more scale (and offer better traction) over stock kit tires. Plus you get 3 widths to choose from (vs say Thunder Tech Racing or UK Monsters, & other wheel wideners). The wider the truck, the more steering you get (aside from steering throw). That said, I really wanted to use Imex Baja tires (look them up) for a brushless Clod build I have in mind (yes, I'm buying another Clod but don't tell Jennifer!!! LOL), I have 2 Grays, 1 Super, 1 Race Clod & OG. I was telling Mark they people still sell a 6x6 chassis for Clod builds and with a Tamiya Bullhead body set and some body work, You can have a 10th scale Konghead!! Can you picture that in your hands? Tamiya Clod Buster, the "Lego" of RC!!!!

Hiya John, Yes, they are a good size that's for sure.. Best wishes to you & yours as well mate!!!
I do like the planetary detail
On the radio shack buggies I can use Tamiya tires but have to cut the lips off and glue the tires on. That may work on here

OMG..... I just seen I missed this!!!!! So sorry mates... Wider is always better than longer man, LMAO!!!!
My gray Dyson plastic vacuums all have that swirl thing on too. Weird
Sure is weird that gray/silver plastic does that...

How are they in price to the Tamiya version??
