I think the Mercedes is freaking cool! It'd be nice to see Slick on the channel to help with the body filled panels and dents. I always like it when he's around and doing sheetmetal work since it's an artform!
i agree there, would love to see you do a german car for us european followers. there is probably even more rust under the paint than you see, so def need Slicks help, which makes for a great recipe for a series. or keep it ruff with some brown patina
I also agree with the above comments. That car would be awesome LS or small block V8 swapped.
I think we’re all in agreement, I know when Puddin’ first mentioned the filler I thought yeah that can be a bit of a task to tackle and maybe he should head towards a different direction and then I remembered Slick’s a body man and it’s been a minute or three since Puddin and Slick worked together on a project. Thought that would be a great opportunity to watch the two of them putting together a nifty little ride. And when it’s all put back together Puddin can lay down one of his patina paint jobs like he did on the Datsun and it’ll look like one of the family.
You guys are nutz! That old dawg wouldn't easily accommodate a LS. My son and I put one along with a Tremec 6 speed in his W114 (280) and that required a complete rebuild of the engine compartment. Had to remove the steering and put in a rack and pinion plus different tie rod ends etc.
I love the Mercedes but that body work will need some Slick50 help. Go for it!
100% yes on the Merc. Get slick on the bodywork but keep it satin black, slammer and original wheels and hubcaps
Yes, do the Mercedes!! Upgraded shop, upgraded cars! Bring in a whole new crowd of followers.
Yes the Mercedes is different and a very cold car, I think how well built it is and how well it has survived out weighs the body problems! I would love to see what you could do with it puddling style 😁👍🏾
That Mercedes is too cool. I would love to see that on the channel!
I think it would be a interesting build!! Slick can help with body work 😊
I like the way people are volunteering ol' Slick for all this work like he ain't got nothin' else to do, or money to make.
That's almost like your wife volunteering you to go help the neighbor with her car when that's what you do for a living.
@@tetedur377if you were Slick, given the opportunity, would you rather work with Puddin, or keep going to work everyday?
@@Ellington_Industrial_ArtsI always help out when someone needs it n I always lose out whether it be money or my time needed elsewhere. Gotta start looking out 4 urself
@@tetedur377 Puddin pays Slick for the work he does and subscribers sent him $15k after the storm damage.
@@Ellington_Industrial_Arts Which one pays Slick's bills? I've never heard either of them say Slick is an employee or co-owner of Puddin's Fab.
Slick 50 could help you with the sheet metal. Love to see you do the mercedes with an l s and a cam
Let slick get the body work
Fairly common over here in the UK but after 50 years they have either been restored or have fallen apart. Your huge advantage is your climate has been way kinder (we salt our road in winter). Mercs are over engineered and built like tanks. I agree with your statement... it need to go from class to obnoxious. It will always stand out from the herd. I would love to see how you tackle the bodywork as a brilliant fabricator and metal work artist. Forget any attempt at perfect restoration... go for some customisation. I like function to determine style... build it to work for you... better still graft in some classic pieces from other cars of the era... maybe a continental kit, frenched in lights, a roof scoop/vent and drop it way down.
we salt our roads as well in the US where ever snow is at the least yearly pretty much any state northern of oklahoma. i'm from kansas so we salt the hell out of everything for whatever reason.
@@mccall9770because calcium chloride is much more expensive, and Kansas is cheap
😂
That Mercedes is a really cool car. You absolutely need that! I want to see that rebuild. Love this and the main channel.
I think the mercedes would be a cool addition to the channel
I think I'd really like to see how you approach repairing the Mercedes, and since you are THE sheet metal guy I think we could all learn together. And besides I could be entertained by watching you do just about anything, I'm here for it all and look forward to Mondays and Thursdays, to see what you're up to next. Come On!!!
Shout out puddins body shop he’s my favorite sheet metal guy on YT
Oh get the Mercedes. It's something you've wanted and you and Slick should be able to work out the body filler issues because outside of that it looked to have pretty solid bones to work off of.
You will have to stock up on the Grey Poupon as you're starting to class up the joint with that ride.
I’ve got a lowered 74 Mercedes 280 that I’ve had for 15 years and I love it. I’m so excited for this build!
Fun fact, you can actually poke a hole in the bottom of the oil filter to make changing the filter cleaner!
Also, you should 100% get that Merc, like others have said Slick could come around to help with the sheetmetal that needs fixing on it.
Buy the Benz it was probably in a bad hail storm, plus it'd give slick something to do for a few shows. Praying for continued success, the world is a better place because of puddin! Thanks for all the smiles!
Let’s rock the Mercedes !! Be some cool new content !! Get slick involved on the body work stuff. You two are good together!! Throw wild bill in the mix and then it’s just straight money.
The Merc is a great idea. Show us how you think it looks cool. Always down to see what you come up with
'like he said originally 307 turbo 350, real low an slow.. Steelies an caps.. 😊
Go for it on the Mercedes, have slick help you out. Love when you and slick work together!
That Mercedes Benz is very nice. Would love to see it back on the road all original.
Pass on the Mercedes!!! Be cool, as you always are, a good one will come along 🎼
Something different doesn't bother me at all Puddin. Maybe go down that LS swap and slam it to the ground it could be epic or not but you'll never know unless you try. Be careful and stay safe my friend. God love ya brother
Go for it, brother it needs some loving and I think your the one who can save her if ya do can't wait to see what comes from it 😮
Would love to see you do this one! Matte black like that, white wheels with the caps & white walls. Little lower to the ground & a nice little cammed LS motor or cammed small block. Keep the stickshift & make a SWEET cruiser!
Congrats on your channel’s success and new shop! Starting watching you during pandemic, great content. Mercedes is wicked cool!
You have not watched enough
That old bus it showed at around 29:30 was pretty cool. A bus would make a fun build. you can do some crazy stuff with it.
An old farmer taught me the key to using gasket punches is using the end grain of the wood to bang on. Love your show
Dude, you made the coolest looking working shop. I'm sure you will add to it over the years. Props to you, man
It's probably the butt of a valve stem in that tire.
On the Mercedes, depending on the price you agreed to, I'd like to see you do an LS swap.
I like the Merc. Would be cool to see the body repair on it. Small block chev swap, lowered with black stealies and white walls like you said. That'd be dope
Leave the Mercedes as is as far as the motor... those have some of the best engine platform and can be modified ...

Puddinafied...
Listen to an old guy and the Mercedes... When an artist sees something that makes him smile because he sees what he can create, don't stop the creative juices from flowing. I saw you smile looking at that old Mercedes.
Get the Mercedes!!! You're a sheet metal man now!!
Such good taste Puddin! Its great that you get stuck into a variety of interesting and different stuff. Those old Mercs look badass!
I can already see what you are going to do with it 👍🏼
Definitely a +1 for the Benz. That thing is sweet!
Hey puddin, make sure you buy some pole jacks for your lift. Keep up the good work!
Mercedes Fintail awesomeness!!! Black with the red perforated interior makes it awesome cubed!!! Get Slick50 to help with the exterior, it would be a cool collaboration to get it back on the road. Keep it 👍👍👍☺️👍👍👍
Hopefully you'll read this! My dad worked at Delphi truck and bus in Kettering Ohio and I remember he worked over one weekend because they shipped a load of chevy trucks to a dealership that was suppose to be GMC trucks. Well they worked the weekend switching chevy badging to GMC badging! Back in the 70s anyway that was the only difference was the badging!
Puddin Time y’all. Sit down and shut up and enjoy it y’all. 😂 😂😂. Can’t wait to see more updates and projects and many more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld on. Keep Making. God bless.
Like the Mercedes. Old Slick can fix it. Also be awesome to get a few tips on the body work. 🎉
I think you should do the old Merc!!!! The way you described the "opposite" of old and classy would be old and sassy. SBC 350 and slammed on bags with steelies and wide whites would be sick!!! Its a nice sort of contrast from the truck content. always look forward to the videos and you never fail to impress with your ingenuity and creativity.
That Mercedes is a cool ass car!! I'd love to see content on this one! Plus you can always fix the bad spots on the body and spray paint over it!
Please yes get the Mercedes, I actually have ones of these! mine is a 1960 220 S a survivor and all I need is the dash wrapped, ceiling reupholstered, and the hood ornament that you held in the trunk.
The LS idea sounds awesome...would love to see that billed
That will be a really cool build! You should definitely do it.
that mercedes is a true classic. its hard to find one that isn't in horrible shape. I'd love to see you bring that one back to life.
I own a 1977 Mercedes 240D. love that car. best thing is, parts are still available. there are also adapters available for the trans to a different engine. lookup doomsday diesel
On the merc w/ body filler, get the body acid dipped or wire wheel the whole thing. Then let it rust or raw w/clear coat.
Man oh man Mercedes here we go....well not again but still LETS GO! That thing could be absolutely stunning when youre done with her
Puddin tang , you are the man buddy. Your being humble is what keeps me coming back day after day. Thank you for the entertainment and schooling god bless you and your family. 🫵✌️👍🏻👍🏻
You should buy that old bus and do Pott county junkyard tours lol. As far as the car it looks like it was used in the film "Driving it to Ms. Daisy".
A merc build would be awesome on the channel 👌🏾 would love to see the straight 6 run, maybe a better shifter or even gearbox? 😂
It totally looks gold to me
Sure would be great if the merch sales could be expanded enough so Slick50 could be around a lot more. It is always fun to see y’all working together.
Slick 50 has his own shop.. Oklahoma speed an custom...
I just want it to expand to the UK! 🙏
I mean check and see how many views Mercedes builds are getting compared to GM vehicles. don't listen to everybody that is blowing smoke up your rear-end they are all Yes Men and will flee the ship when it comes the time to watch I will keep it real with u
Anytime Wild Bill and Slick show up you know it's gonna be good! Thanks for Another Great video AND whether to Benz or not to Benz, i'm sure the next one will be an interesting build to say the least
It will be interesting to see what you do to it and see how it turns out
Zündfolge stands for firing order. Also the Zenith Inat 35/40 carburetors are good and dependable. You got a good motor right there.
good ole Hamburger King. love that little hole in the wall place
Metal and body you can fix. Interior parts hard to get or fabricate. Cool idea. If you find nicer by luck might need both. Lucky’s garage just picked one up too.
Would be interesting to see you take on a German road machine. You'll sort out the body issues, you always do, and if not there's always slick 50...
Body issues. He'll fix'em or he won't. lol
Love to see you put the pot country magic on that classic Mercedes. Small block or an LS heck yes !!
LS is so overdone.
The Merc is in better condition than some of the cars you have bought before. I think it would be worth it and something different for the channel.
exactly like he just did a whole bedside and shorten on the c10 and its a mercedes it probably do really well in the views department
Man that Mercedes is awesome. Fix the tin, match patina the rest of your plan is spot on. Will be a cool cruiser
Yes yes yes on the Merc! So cool and will be completely original.
Twin turbo LS1 or LS2 swapped Bens would definitely something different for the shop!!
It just might put you in the 1 million subs category! You never know🙏🏻❤️💪🏼🔥🔥🔥👍🏻
The short bed conversion who be so cool just clear coated .Remember in school mathematics the teacher would say show your work.
Looking forward to seeing you work on the Mercedes.
Yes, please, and make it chop and slide brother.
Would love to see the Mercedes be a cool little project !
Buy it! Rat rod it. Truck LS and tub the rear...big rear wheels...skinny front...barrel of fun...also make sure to always carry Grey Poupon with you at all times.
I just use a hole punch when I am making gaskets. You know, the kind you use on notebook paper. They work great.
Get her build pud. Be good to see the Merc on the channel 😊
Hey Puddin!!! Since there are 1991 comments now you probably won't see this, but!!! Those fuel filter locks, Insert the tool then push the line towards the filter housing to take the tension off of the lock springs and it will pop loose easier. Also, they make pliers for them that work awesome.
That spare tire is ORIGINAL!! To that vehicular!! I just about guarantee it!!
Definately 60’s. Cool car. Can’t wait.
The Mercedes would be both a rewarding but awesome first build in the new shop. Naturally, you would have to take it completely down. A complete end-to-end sheet metal fix and frame clean. Yeah, the sheet metal work is a pain, and for paint, primer will do. Dump in whatever you want at or over 500hp at the wheels. Fab the daylights out of it and both show and race it. I am sure there are a few tracks near you down there... Just my opinion but I will forever be a gearhead. BTW I do believe that year they were still hand-built?
I would definitely watch you and even ol Slick 50 working on that Mercedes. Then again i watch all the videos. 🤷♂️
Also im waiting patiently for the Puddins hoodies to come back in stock!
The Mercedes is sweet! I'd love to see it brought back.
nice to see a different type of project, go for it
Get the Mercedes!!! I almost bought one like it from Kelly King in Tennessee about 10 years ago. It has the hydraulic suspension and was mint!! I love those old Mercedes
Man just when i thought the wagon was the coolest build this merc is going to be awesome!
When i saw that Mercedes in the Thumbnail, i was amazed the body looks in mint condition except for the rust and damage
I think you should get it. It would be a good project to fix up.
That Mercedes is killer! Take those twin 2 bbls off, and replace with 3 Weber side draft carbs, you'll be happy you did!!
I'm a merc guy myself and i think u should definetly get it, and i'm sure the build videos are gonna get loads of views😀
Hell yeah brother. That's a perfect project car I would love to see you work on cuz I love your contact you're hilarious. You bring humor to working on trucking and getting it done
i LIKE the mercedes! your vision of blacked out with whitewalls is killer.
Do the MB. Never seen one slammed. Cool ride because it's different. The shortened square body getting better. Good stuff.
Yes on the merc, it oozes class and sophistication. You’ll be mistaken for a surgeon every time you drive it.
That mercedes wagon next to it looked pretty cool for another wagon as well. Another family car.
Buy!!!!!
Love when you walk the yards.
I had an S-10 Blazer that started popping sounds on turns. It wasn't U-joints, It was the rear differential. CV axles are also a possibility.
You will be able to work your magic on the Merc..
I think you really need to bring that Mercedes to the channel! I would love to see what your creativity and talent could bring to this beauty!
I’m late to the party here, but I’ve got an 01 Sierra. The ABS wasn’t working and I took the module apart and re-soldered all the joins on the board. It all started working again.
Do it Puddin,That Mercedes would be the coolest build yet,Slick 50 can handle the body work and put some money in his pocket.....................Fort Worth,Tx
Another good one Puddin! Thanks! That Mercedes might be a cool project for the channel!
Every discerning gentleman auto fiddler needs a classic Merc! Go for it Puddin!
Puddin! I worked in a Benz shop years ago that is 68 or 69 that six with duals can be a sceamer. The guy I worked for had a 70 SEL what a beauty, by the way the wood in that car is real, ain't no fake wood in that one.
That Mercedes would be a great build. I'd like to see the straight 6 fired up before swapping it out.
DO IT ! I'd love to see that build.
100% yes on the Mercedes! That thing is awesome! Can’t wait to see what you do with it.
My buddy had a '72 220 with 4 speed that looked a lot like yours in the early 90s. It was a complete pos, but somehow it got him back and forth between FL and PA. that car had more duct tape and baling wire than anything else I have seen. As long as we were over 40 mph it was fine, drive slower and it would overheat every time. Very fun car to drive and comfortable.
