Always been a fan of the shiny Mega Gengar, such a cool surprise. Hisuian Zorua is also amazing, continues to allude me despite my attempts. This was a good idea for some shiny scares this Halloween season.
My favorite Ghost type shinies are Cofagrigus, Runerigus, Dragapult, Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark, and Gengar. I know Gengar doesn't have the best shiny, when not Mega Evolved or Gigantamaxed, but Gengar has always been one of my personal favorite Ghost types and it's shiny has really grown on me.

Fun fact: you cant actually obtain shines in gen 1, even if you trade them to gen 2. The psuedorandom stat generation for normal encounters for some reason dodges the DV combinations that result in shines, but special encounters like the legendaries, Snorlax, disguised Voltorb and Electrode, and gift Pokémon like your starter or Eevee CAN be shiny.
11:39 funny story regarding this shimy I was doing the masuda method for solosis (as shiny reuniclus is mwah chefs kiss) and decided to hunt on the side on my other 2ds 12 fucking encounters and i encouner a shiny phantump. I didnt even see it sparkle, i was about to press run until i had the piss scared out of me! I traded it to my other game and then back, so now I have a ridicilously under odds shiny tree that I nearly failed. For anyone curious I got the solosis on my 90th egg
You don't need to beat the League in Platinum to hunt Rotom, its available right when you get Cut, its only in Diamond, Pearl, and BDSP that you need to beat the league
Are you johntron's lost brother? also I remember there being a run down area in x and y on the route after the fairy gym but I can't remember if you can catch pokemon
you can technically get shinies in RBY but they only appear shiny if you trade em to gen 2 or transfer to bank because gen 1 & 2 shiny was more based on stats then random

He uses the exact same cadence as old JT videos when talking, has similar jokes, and using Banjo Kazooie music in the background of unrelated games was something Jon did a lot back in the day. I like these videos, but it seems like he's really trying to emulate the old Jontron character to be more popular. Also, while I haven't watched it yet, doing a play through of Clock Tower while people are constantly comparing him to Jon definitely doesn't help.
I feel like you kinda missed the point of the gen 2 lavender town. The jokes you made were the original intent. It was very much a "nothing is sacred when it comes to big business, even life and death" kinda statement. Listening to interviews with Satoshi Tajiri or even blue's rant on cinnabar makes this pretty obvious.
