Ryan, strong work..I live in an area where we get the blues every year. The Thunderbirds every 5 years or so. When they come they are 2 weeks apart. I have always looked at the teams more as a competition. Who flies closer, the better line abreast etc. This interview changed that. Please include as many Thunderbirds as you can. It's so interesting when you compare the cultures of the Air Force and Navy. As he said "we are all pilots".
50yrs old and still haven't seen the T-Birds. What a class act!! Got to go watch them for sure. Probably one of your best Inspiring videos Ryan! Must be nice to hang out with fighter pilots. Some of the best people on the planet!!
I've tried to see Thunderbirds three times over the last couple years, but the shows were canceled due to weather and COVID. However, I was lucky to see them fly over downtown Austin. Hoping to see the team fly in 2021. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the kinds words.
@@BlueAngelPhantoms June 5th and 6th. Smyrna TN. I'm there. We have a Service center nxt to the airport. The Blue's used one of our 53ft trailers for center point last year. It will also give us a chance to check out Cpt. Kuss's memorial.
What a beautiful interview thank you so much for your service it is so greatly appreciated God bless you and your family and God bless the Thunderbirds and the Blue Angels and God bless America
Thanks, David. Always appreciate your feedback and support. No doubt that Mr. Byrd is an incredible ambassador for our Armed Forces and all those currently serving overseas.
Great video, very inspiring!! I had the privilege of being a Parachute Rigger at Nellis 88-92. I hate that I just missed ya during your Thunderbirds days. I can remember as a new Airman the first time some T-Birds came into the shop to get that awesome patch sewn on a Flight Jacket, I was in awe. :) Great memories!!
Awesome falls so short of how great this testimony was.Amazing interviewee, stunning story- teller, so greatful for the emotions poured into his every word!!!!. I'm a huge admirer of your portrayals of the past, present and future of these elite flight demonstration teams but amongst all great past interviews this very one ranks for me one of the very best ever. Thanks Ryan for your work and please keep it up. I have literally no adjectives to qualify how great this interview was. God bless the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds and damn sure YOU for getting out these amazing testimonials!!!.
Victor, thanks for your kind words. I can't agree more that Mr. Byrd is not only an amazing interviewee, but a true American hero who has dedicated his life to serving his country. It was an honor to share his story on this channel.
This video should be compulsory viewing by all high school aged males. After enlisting in the Navy I followed my dream and learned to fly while studying at Embry-Riddle Daytona. Wouldn't have had it any other way! Great video!
Superbly summarized the mission, privilege, and joy of being a member of the USAF Demonstration Team (Thunderbirds). It was a honor to serve with you as a member of the ground team. 94-97 DCC #2, Jet Engine Tech. Thanks for sharing, hope you’re doing well.
I donated my time to draw and paint with the sick kids at the Barbara Bush children's hospital in Maine in my career. I was solo this time, a gift from me to them, the families and the nurses. One in a lifetime for sure and emotional still to this day. I commend you and all who give back to community and our country. Much Love, H.L.
Why do you have USAF Tbirds material on a page dedicated to the Blue Angels? Not to take away from the Tbirds who are fabulous, but it just doesn't make sense. If you post Tbird stuff too, why not make a channel called "Thunderbirds Phantoms" and post tbird stuff there.
This was a great video. One thing is common with all of these guys, they are extremely proud and thankful for being given the chance to represent our country in this fashion.
His humility is something to appreciate. I love the competitive spirit in these guys.
Matt's a great guy...being a part of the Thunderbirds was the highlight of my Air Force career.
I absolutely loved this! He lived one of my greatest dreams.

Great comment. Here he is 25+ years removed from the team and he still gets emotional thinking about the kids. Excellent interview.
l can relate to that....Thanks
Another great one, Ryan.
Having seen both teams many times, starting with the F-4, I enjoy the videos of both teams pilots.
Thanks again.
Great to hear, Jeff. Glad you enjoyed it. I have a couple Blue Angel interviews filmed. Just need to start editing Thanks for the support.

I really appreciate that he says "double our effort" instead of using the word "redouble".
Really? _That's_ what I got out of this video??
American pilots are true heroes! This story is so much needed, especially these days. 🇺🇸 🇺🇸🇺🇸
I saw the " Byrdman" in a documentary the Thunderbirds did called Thunder Over the Pacific. Best doc ive seen about the Thunderbirds.
I have it too and was watching some of it today
Man i like him. 💪
🌠💙💚💚🌠SALUTE!🌠💙💚🤗
Great video. When will women be able to join the Thunderbirds?
Glad you enjoyed the video. To answer your question, multiple women have served on the Thunderbirds, including the current lead solo, Michelle Curran.
@@BlueAngelPhantoms , Oh Wow and thanks for answering my question. Great to know and I'm from South Africa, so not that familiar with the procedures.

Because most people who love aviation can appreciate what the Thunderbirds do and don't mind the occasional nod Ryan gives to the team.
@@RagdollOC by comment was directed to Ryan.... I have no problem with what you said. Just have a page dedicated to the Tbirds.
