Screen will automatically dim when you turn on the headlights if brightness mode is set to ‘auto’. It will even stay at 100% but still be dimmer. Very clever actually. Just set it to ‘light’ and your screen will stay bright and shine
I've had one of these since March. And I've had no issues either. I would recomend it. Since I got one and posted on the focus mk2 page on Facebook everyone seems so have one now haha. Love the channel btw 👍
Nice review. The screen dimming is probably auto-brightness. Go on display in settings and set it manually instead. I think you need to pull your heater dials off and put round knobs on, would look much more up -to-date.
Far cheaper from AliExpress. Ordered the 2g-32g version for 84 quid with free shipping. I got the rear view reversing camera too. Apparently that links up nicely. But I will say that if you have never used AliExpress before you might be waiting anything from a week up to a month for things to arrive. Its a bit hit and miss.
I also have this stereo, seems decent for what it cost. Also use UA-cam for all my music works fine only irritation is when u turn car off then start up again it goes to radio not where u left it. Other than that is decent.
Couple of questions: - What's the CPU on your model? - What version of Android? - 2 years after posting this is it still going well? Is it still fast enough? - Did it come with the Carbon fibre look or did you add that yourself? P.S. not all your viewers are blokes btw 😂😘
I had one of these, they chugged alot even for a 6gb model and the side buttons stopped working, it then developed a habit of cycling through the menus, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and stuck the old one back in to see if the cycling issue happened for the old one and it was fine, got another replacement one that looks like the original unit but with a bigger screen (has the same functionalities as this unit) and the issues went away. I opened the unit and the massive heat sync in the back does pretty much nothing, its why there are updated versions now with 2 cooling fans
Did you have any issues fitting the facia. I have the same stereo and and same car but I'm finding it extremely tight and it won't sit in correctly. Once the stereo is on I'm finding it very laggy opening apps. Where did u put the GPS antenna did u move it from on top of the stereo. Can you use Google maps and music at the same time.

Did you have issues with the hazard lights? Annoyingly the two clips you mentioned came off in the stereo unit itself which is annoying and can’t work out how to get them out. I have now noticed the hazard “hole” seems to be too small and the hazards stay on and can’t get them off
Did you managed to enter advanced setup? What is the MCU version firmware (and MCU type, not CPU, MCU) also do you know what is the audio chipset Type? I am guessing that for that price is does not have an DSP?
Can you please describe, how long does it take to power up, when you turn the car on. Is it always on? I'm trying to understand how this radios operate turning on and off

Hi mate, I would however I don't have any experience with any others so it is difficult to recommend a certain one, I would suggest going for a branded unit or one which you have heard good things about.

How do you find the big screen with reflections ? Interested in one off these but not sure if having the bigger screen is wasted by constant light replections when your looking at it for google maps ect. Cheers
Tbf ive had no issues with glare at all really. Although I have tinted windows and a sun strip so I don’t know whether that’s helped or not but yeah no problems mate
Hi mate, yes you can set the radio to save to 1,2,3,4,5, or 6. I dont think it says on the screen the name of the radio station immediately, just says the frequency

Check your cables or there might not be alot of power going through it when you turn your lights on or even if just triggers it.

I don’t remember exactly but it’s like SW controls. It allows you to program the steering wheel controls so that each button works as it should

It comes with a GPS anthenna...you can use whatever app you like..Google maps etc

Couple seconds to power up and it turns on and off as you would expect it to. You can turn it on while the car is off also like normal

There is an app on the unit called SW controls and you just program it to how you want
