Yes, once you change the category from curtain panel to windows, it will be picked up by the window schedule, but you may consider adding some shared parameter for the windows family so you can manually type in the dimension of the real windows and curtain panel windows, because that the automatic width and height will come from the single panel instead of the whole "window".
I recently started to only use windows (either from Revit library of from manufacturer) and stopped using any curtain walls as windows, because this way I do not need to check the dimensions all the time.

Am i right in saying that this will only schedule the window panel and not the entire assembly? I want to be able to schedule my fixed panel aluminium frames which are constructed as curtain walls in my D&W schedule.

BIN HE so for example you can’t have one schedule showing all the aluminium items which include windows doors and curtain walls?
Because from the supplier and contractors point of view it will be confusing to see this information split into 3 different schedules
