I think because many Americans don't live near Civil War battlefields that war becomes an abstraction rather than a reality. It's important, for many reasons, we never forget how and why the people alive back then came to a point where they could no longer compromise and tolerate each other politically. We are in grave danger of coming to that same point today.
Military miniatures painted 54 mm can run between $35-90 per figure, mounted cavalry from $90 to $170 depending on the company manufacturing them. If you are buying them unassembled and painting them from kits, then usually from $30 to $50 each. Do the math on this and this is worth in the thousands of dollars. He must really make great money in his IT position to put together that kind of an historical diorama. Lots of money, time , planning , passion and effort.
i think ppl who do this cant let the past go...then afterwards....camping there @ the battlefield @ nite drinking beers thinkin bout what nvr will happen....
