A better method would be to use a Shape Layer stroke, add Trim Paths and set it as an alpha matte on top of your type instead. 8-bit effects do wonky things on 3D layers and inside continuously rasterizing compositions.

How do I make the key frame??

Unfortunately it doesn't work for me when I click on set original image after the stroke layer. The original text doesn't appear but only the mask line that I have made. :-( can someone help me?

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.. when I add my key frame and adjust the end percentage back to 100 and press play the effect doesnt work.. The title just sits there..Can anyone help?
