Thanks friends! No, I can’t. People I know are thinking they’re going to rebuild but I think they’re going to likely change their mind when they see what all is involved and how much it costs.
Hi I’m also from California and moved to Tennessee, Athens to be with family. I want a garden so bad but not settled in a spot on my sons land. This 69 ye old lady is definitely having a cultural shock. So I need to have a garden. I guess I’ve been subscribed for a bit, so I’m glad a video popped up. Looking forward to watching back videos.
Watch for Spiny Amaranth weeds - they have thorns and are all over. Get them out by hoeing when they are tiny or you will regret that a lot. I gardened on about 1/8 acre of my 6 in Cumberland County, TN for a season and gave it up (we decided to move to another place).
Hello , I have family from Athena, my grandfather and grandmother was from there !! I haven’t been there since I was about 6 yrs old. I’m now 66. Have been wanting to go there .
@ is pretty, small, slow pace. I like that. I know no one yet here, thank God for family or I’d be pretty lonely. Gardening would help with that I think
Good evening Kaye! I know it’s hard to see you’re home in California burnt, there were so many memories there. I am so sorry. Consequently, the skies in Oklahoma are trails and trails. These planes are coming out of Tinker AFB in Del City / Midwest City / Oklahoma City. We have very large windows to our house and at night when I can’t sleep I lay in bed and watch the stars and planes in the sky then I watch them cries cross and cover up the stars then eventually no stars. Makes me livid! Here in Oklahoma several of us are getting the smart meters removed. People are waking up! I am fighting the taxation here first then I will help with the windmills and green energy garbage! Stay safe and have a great week! Wendy🥶❄️🇺🇸🙏🏻
Toilet paper as the tape for seeds. Then small pots made of the insides roll from the toilet paper for the beginner pots. That way, you can bury the plant, paper, and the carboard intact. You can also make starter pots out of folded up newspaper.
Thank you Kaye for your time making videos for us all. It is very sad regarding the loss for those because of the fires. It is so hard to see the pictures of how devastated areas of Calif.
You, just took a break and laid low during the artic blast and that's a good thing. I focused on tending the wood stove fire and putting up some attractive black out curtains across the 5ft archway between the front door/stairs going upstairs and leading into a quaint 1949 cape cod period living room with a beautiful original bead board wall and hearth. Looking at the 30 day forecast for Central VA, there are no sub-zero temps and I'm feeling spring is just around the corner. I hope your temps are trending upward into the 50's for Feb. Thank you for sharing your experiences on the homestead. You have taught me a lot!
Dearest Dearest kaye,im sending you my thought, prsyers, blessings and love, hopefully, hoping thst you and yours, your sweet cats are all safe a nd well,.xxxxwinter is here isn't it,xx sending my love, with big thanks you s.xx hope you are safe and well.xxxxxxxxxall my love xxx
If you used a metal, clip on lamp (you can buy at most hardware stores) and point it at the side of the barrel, you will generate better, more directed, heat.
We have finally thawed from a rare 6 inches of snow in South Ga. I’ve been spending a lot of time under a heated blanket with a dog in my lap (she loves the blanket, too.) Not much getting done! But it’s good to take a break and slow down every now and then. Not much coming in with the garden right now.
Good Morning Kaye - Thanks for the updates and hoping for a better 2025 but will see. Does not surprise me about the continued trails as there are probably contracts for them to be done years out. Hope your water storage does not have a leak and the container is not compromised. So sad about your former home and praying for all those impacted. Look forward to your video on meters as many states will not let you chose analog but a few will. Take care my friend as planting season is just around the corner..
Hello from Johnson City. I'm so happy to have found your channel this morning while looking for info on red clover. I'm learning a lot already. Some warmth is headed our way. Praying for healing for all of our communities and lands💚
Yes, indeed! Sometimes prayer is the only weapon we have. So great you found me! I’ve been in Tennessee for going on my fifth season here but my channel goes back to LA where I started it and lived for eight years and did urban gardenIng. I’ve got 1400 videos so there’s lots to check out, check out my playlists which you can find from my homepage. Welcome!! Also follow my community page. Just posted! If you are subscribed and you click all under the notifications tab you should see my community page posts in your subscription feed. If not I post there frequently so just check back.
Well, a rectangle pyrex baking dish is the same shape of a small plastic tray. You could try sprouting in that. Pinball puts his seeds in toilet paper between the 2 sheets and adds a little water on the sides to seal the paper. Then let it dry on your table. Lastly, on your water container, if there is a lid on top, you could add a submersible fish tank heater. If it is a 300 gallon tank add something for 200 gallons. I have a 350 gallon fish tank outside and the heater i use keeps it at 75 degrees when it is 30 degrees outside. That could be another option...
Such a sad and surreal, image with all the destruction.. nothing left, but the planters and the chimney. Great to see the red table on intro. thank you for sharing ! Unfortunately, they’ve been spraying in Southern IL lately as well
Hello Kaye, it is good to see you. Thank you for the video! The skies here in Maine have the haze after the trails. Very cold up here in the minus temps with the wind chill. Hoping spring will be here soon. Praying for all who have been devastated by the waters and fires. Yah bless you🙏🙏❤
Thanks for your update. Just to let you know VP Vance has secured apartments for some in North Carolina who were still suffering from the flood. Looking forward to your video on smart meters and the radiation overload affecting our health.
I can remember when I was a child seeing a plane go over the farm was rare. Right after the bill was signed into law there seemed to be a decrease in plane trails but I've noticed an increase.
Yes, I rigged up a heat lamp for my well house and decided to leave it rigged up until first week of March. I have a switch close to the house so on days above 32 I can Turn it off. I don’t mind the traffic as you speak. It’s good to see you are ok.
Im back again kaye, and yes i did see about the devastation from the fires, your video and from your old home, oh dear i was and still feel speechless 🙊, with such sadness for all.but so grateful you are here in your homestead late bloomer home.?kaye you have been through a lot,and you have worked extremely hard. Still you take time to share and help usbwith your learning. Im grateful for that..agh yes, geraniums, delightful, and wh a t a sweet story of your long going geraniums.hmmm!.very satisfying, geraniums, spider plants, aloe vera s.i can keep those going okay .the poor sweet dear family, my god have them safe in his everlasting care nowxxxxlove you kaye and cats xxxxfrom me and my garden girls xxxx
Looking forward to your talk on "smart meters". I made sure to refuse the meter when they were pushing them on everyone here in Florida and I"m so glad I did.
I heart you, Kaye 🎉 💓 making onion & sweet potato soup, roasted beets, tea and yesterday's great pumpkin cookies to get me through! I'm glad you appreciated California.. she's my home 👣
Just planted 4 varieties of onion seeds myself... in the seemingly inescapeable plastic tray. Last year, I grew carrot seeds in paper fiber egg cartons. It worked great to germinate, but operator error caused a failure to thrive... I missed a day of misting them and they just never recovered. I wonder about finding a larger, deeper container made of that same cardboard/paper fiber for my fall onion seeds. Cross your fingers for me.😄
Thank you for the confirmation pictures of your CA 1.0. I am so glad to see you working through it all. Here in NW Florida, we just had the SNOW-POCOLYPSE. I wonder if chemtrails had anything to do with it??
I'm so sorry, there's been too much devastation. I live in the mountains of CA and had to evacuate several years ago. It's scary to wonder if your home will still be there when the fire is put out. Luckily the whole town was saved. It's very hard to keep fire insurance here and that's scary too. I'm paying triple now and if I ever couldn't get insurance I'd have to sell my home because I still have a mortgage.
You could avoid using plastic seed trays by crafting shallow trays from hard shell gourds. They would certainly last a year or maybe two or three. I'll bet you that's what they did in the good old days.
We may or may not get snow tomorrow but a dusting and won't stick. Our area last got snow 2 years back. NW AZ is not too snowy in our area but we got very cold recently down to 19 one night which is not anything compared with your temps in TN. Garden alive but sad looking. I think all will survive. Sorry about your former house in the Palisades. So far Mon. afternoon here and no snow - just light rain but chilly mid-40s here in NW AZ.
Hi Kay, I am in Northern IL I have a 40 gallon tank if water in my small 6x6 greenhouse I bought a fish tank heater with a thermostat control and a digital read out. Even in the extremely low temps this heater kept the water in the 50's . I have it set to heat to 76 it couldn't maintain that temp. Hope this might help you or others.
Soul blocks on wood trays, then put on a plastic tray minimizes the roots of the plant in touch with plastic. I’m using soil blocks this year and I love them! Although, mine didn’t work so well with onions, but all the greens are doing awesome!
I've seen Rachel from that 1870's homestead do that as an experiment last year, but she used brown paper, but it was quite messy and she said it didn't work out that well. I just started my onion seeds yesterday, I'm in zone 5b/6a. We'll see I have a hard time with growing onions. I'm gonna do more fertilizer this year, hopeful.
Seeing your video reminded me of when I lived in Cedar Hill, Tn in a rural area. I always joked about needing to wear an orange vest during hunting season when I went outside. I am not a huge fan of all the Spacex, chem trails extra, drilling etc it dirties our environment. ♥️🙏♥️
LOL! I also have been glued to the news. I did finally get outside and did some cleanup work. We just had our house sided and new gutters put on the house. I asked them to put a gutter on a shed we call the "smoke house" and it empties into this type of container. They used the old gutter they took off of the house (recycle!). I figured I'd just drain it come fall as I won't be needing it as I mainly had it done for helping to water the flower beds. In SW MO we got down to 0 - not "feels like" temp. Started taking apart some old raised beds (cedar) and couldn't budge the ones on the north side and the ground was frozen in them. I'm so happy you got out of California when you did! Glad you're back - missed your "chat sessions"! I can't wait to start "gardening" again. Decided to try some seed tapes this year to see how they work. Old "Arthur" is letting me know he's around in my life, so I'm trying to make things a little easier - we'll see. Looking forward to the next "video". Stay safe and warm. I also have a little "Bistro" set on my front porch where I USED to have my morning coffee. Now, the cats have taken it over as their feeding station! They like the new cushions I bought for the chairs. The "possums like it also, LOL!
Rachel from That 1870's Homestead did a video last year using the snail roll method. The title was Small Roll Garden Hack. I believe she used some type of paper.
Glad your doing will my friend ❤ it's been a heart breaking yr. for so many destructions Chemtrails I've taken pics for yrs. it's not good what humanity is breathing in including nature, my daughter in law and I have been having issues growing several veg. do to toxics layered apon the land, think its time to start growing in green houses or maybe it's to late 😢 ? Remember in the 80s farmers were forced to obey Monsanto and gov. to destroy their seed crop they saved for the next yrs crop (heathy seeds organic) Gov. & Monsanto came up with toxics for the plant's and destroying the microbes on all farmers lands, now every persons land is being done to Chemtrails, to windmills, to solar power grids, don't forget smart meters are included. We are all being sicked down Be safe y'all grow and share info of truth & help those who need a extra hand
About a month ago i planted about 20 garlic, 2 pineapples, 2 celery, blue, black and raspberries, figs, Thai Chili 🌶️, and more. We had pouring rain all night and i knew it was coming so i moved as much as i could under the porch because i didnt want what was in the sky to go into my organic soil 😩. I drove from SFV into Simi and Moorpark during the day and as i went over the mountain the sky was a really weird color and smelled awful.
Since my fall on November 4th and the drastic slow down that caused me in the flesh, I’ve decided to start my seed under some frost clothes I set up last fall, before the fall🤣🤣🙄🤪🙌.ive asked as little as necessary while recovering , from Mr. Blair ;he has been a great nurse/ house keeper but doesn’t garden.weve been eating my preps so jars are sitting where I need to set trays🙄. I am sooooo much better but still using my comfrey ect and being very careful. I think I can get a few seed in the ground for my cabbage and broc atleast outside , I’m gonna try it anyway. I watch for your vids to go up!💋✝️🕊️❤️
I live in Myrtle Beach SC. Love your videos. I heard an incognito patriot say that the chemicals in the sky slow missiles from other countries slow down just by seconds which is long enough to help the US detect and destroy. I do think clean skies are more important. I noticed this past year that my garden didn't grow as well and I think it's the chemicals.
Just curious about your plans to get chickens. I'm thinking about getting my own chickens too. I have a lot of people around me that have chickens and I know I could get some from them if I can't order them. Still need to get my chicken house and run set up before I even think about it.
I would if I had a helper. If you have any help, go for it! I got very excited the other day, posted on my community page about heritage chickens, wanting some so bad, but with no family close, just can't take it on.
@@Latebloomershow a small flock of two (three is better in case one dies) is very managable for a single person. I have been taking care of a small flock for the past five years. I started out with 3, and now I only have one left. Thinking about getting a couple more this spring. They aren't nearly as much work as you think they are, if you keep your flock small.
I looked at the transcript, trying to understand your comment about starting seeds in rolls. Couldn’t determine how that was being used, but when you said rolls, I thought about toilet paper cardboard rolls. You could put soil in them and the seeds and put these rolls in some kind of a tray. When the seeds germinate and you want to plant them in the ground, you pick up the toilet paper roll with its soil and seeds and plant the whole thing into the ground. Is this your intent with the rolls you are talking about?
Sorry, she is using what looks like 1/4" foam packing material cut into 8" wide (height) and 5' long. She spreads out potting soil along the strip and rolls it up and tapes it. When standing, she presses in or sprinkles the seeds on top. Shoots grow down the space and ever so often, she unrolls and spreads on another layer of potting soil as if peanut butter on sandwich bread. Rolls stand up (in a tray) and she waters from the bottom. I hoep that helps! Yes, I've tried the tp cardboard rolls. I've used all mine lighting my fires this winter.
Dear sweet kaye, its certainly so good to see you.xxits so good to know you are okay. We have very high einds and rain again, another storm. Hopefully wont be too much damage for people. Prayers for everyone.?its Sunday morning here now, 12.30.so i guess mid day..kaye i can here the beautiful sound of your chimes.i like that.x.im so pleased czts are doing well. Xjust going to finish watching then i can comment.?i have only just been into my freezer, its an upright one not double just 1.its next to the back door and in its own shed out house sort of..well its been playing up, very understand ably,as i hsve worked out that we have had it for 37 years, its was given to us from my late mother in law,and she had had it several years.😮.my its done well.but now its gone awful naughty, lits of frozen fluff icy, ect.and small amount in front ,.i will not complain, but definitely we need to try and buy a new one,as its so useful. 😊hugs and comment after i have watched properly xxxx😊
Well, you can't take them out entirely. If you did, there would be no trail and no point. At the least, there is silver iodide, a chemical compound commonly used for cloud seeding. But, many fear there is much more being dispersed. First Bobby has to get sworn in. Fingers crossed. Without that, the chemical companies will continue to rule.
Yes, here in NC I went outside last week and I counted over 30 chem trails in the sky above my house!!! The next day was gray and raining. I hate those chem trails! I hope President Trump does stop this! Wouldn’t that be wonderful!❤️🙏🏻😊
I'm so happy for you, and relieved you are safe. The pictures of Late Bloomer Garden 1. 0 was devastating. But looking forward to the gardening, yours and mine. Love you, love the channel. Have a very blessed day my friend. ❤ thanks for sharing.
Trump needs to allow those in WNC to have those homes built by the Amish for them. He came to California and said to cut all the red tape, and allow people to do what they got to do! Wonder why he didnt do that in WNC?
could you imagine if you had stayed in Cali....
happy we helped motivate u
take care
Thanks friends! No, I can’t. People I know are thinking they’re going to rebuild but I think they’re going to likely change their mind when they see what all is involved and how much it costs.
My prayer list keeps getting longer as my gratitude grows. Peace and Blessings Kaye and all who frequent this channel 🏡
Hi I’m also from California and moved to Tennessee, Athens to be with family. I want a garden so bad but not settled in a spot on my sons land. Chemtrails I've taken pics for yrs. it's not good what humanity is breathing in including nature, my daughter in law and I have been having issues growing several veg. do to toxics layered apon the land, think its time to start growing in green houses or maybe it's to late 😢 ?
Remember in the 80s farmers were forced to obey Monsanto and gov. to destroy their seed crop they saved for the next yrs crop (heathy seeds organic)
Gov. & Monsanto came up with toxics for the plant's and destroying the microbes on all farmers lands, now every persons land is being done to Chemtrails, to windmills, to solar power grids, don't forget smart meters are included.
We are all being sicked down
Be safe y'all grow and share info of truth & help those who need a extra hand
I watch for your vids to go up!💋✝️🕊️❤️
We got those same chem trails in our sky in Michigan. 😢
Kaye use butcher paper, craft paper. or burlap.
Watching another video the chemtrails were heavy in January over Arizona!
Our lowest temp last week was -9F.
So glad you left California. It is such a mess. You have a wonderful place in TN. No smart meters...they cause fires!
It's called "snail roll" method.
Sorry you are being troubled by water expansion in your emergency tank and water condensation overhead. Hope things get better for you.
Dear sweet kaye, its certainly so good to see you.xxits so good to know you are okay. We have very high einds and rain again, another storm. Hopefully wont be too much damage for people. Use a toilet roll or paper towel rolls as a growing container
Eggs shells too
Wait...i thought the chemtrails were banned in Tennessee???🤔
That's what I said. SB 2691 signed by Gov. Lee June 1. Yes, no stopping.
🙏🏻RFK fixes chem trails tho he said he’ll take chemicals out of chem trails 😮
Praying always praying. Stay well friend.
Yes please do cover SMART.I chose not to have one.
Excellent! What state? Are you paying a penalty for opting out?
The smart meters here in Michigan are all installed. We can opt out but we do pay a penalty for opting out.
I'm so happy for you, and relieved you are safe. The pictures of Late Bloomer Garden 1. 0 was devastating. But looking forward to the gardening, yours and mine. Love you, love the channel. Have a very blessed day my friend. ❤ thanks for sharing.
My hope is RFK Jr will halt these chem trails
Trump needs to allow those in WNC to have those homes built by the Amish for them. He came to California and said to cut all the red tape, and allow people to do what they got to do! Wonder why he didnt do that in WNC?
He was very generous while in WNC and I'm hearing from those on the ground that the situation started to improve there on Day 2.
Trump did say that when he was in North Carolina.
@batgirl9745 oh good!! 👍
@@Latebloomershow good to know, i dont see too much news about WNC anymore, no updates other than they are still living in tents 😩
That’s awful they have to live that way.
Give him a chance,4 year of Biden/Obama will not happen overnight.he has to get his cabinet people in place. Thank God for trump.
Amen!!!
