Great video and it brings back so many memories of the city at that time. I was towards the end of high school in 91' and used to get the train to the city often to hang around and meet friends etc. Interesting view from the hotel room of the western side of the city - no Bolte Bridge, no Docklands Stadium, and well, no Docklands :) Just the docks
I loved the green and gold livery when I visited from Adelaide. I was a kid and I miss those days. We would stay in a back packers hostel, and I remember the sound of the news or law and order with the sounds of trams and cars in the background.
Very Nice. This is definitely a place to visit some day. The trams remind me of those that run in Boston, Mass. near where I live. The only difference is ours have pantographs instead of poles.
You would be very disappointed if you came to Melbourne now expecting to see this because just about all of it has been changed or replaced. Hardly any of our history ever got preserved, and that's a real shame. These videos are the only way in which you can re-live it.
There basically the same as they were back in the 90's, expect the Comeng trains have been refurbished and the last of the Hitachi trains were retired in 2014.
I was born in the mid 90s, I enjoy looking at Melbourne’s history.

boy a big difference between Spencer St station 2022 & back in 1991
The area around Spencer Street has changed quite a bit in 20 years.
Love the old teardrop bells at the Royal Park crossing
Nice video mate. A great contrast.
Were you a tourist during these films?

Not trains but spotted two W126 Mercedes-Benz sedans. Very nice!
Many people watch my films of buses (and trams, where they exist) to see the cars and other road traffic - not the buses!
ooh so thats what the old trains looked like i thuogth it was connex
