    Nice. Pls give us also some more complex flows. Eg. How to automatically switch between beeing at home/ away. Different welcome message for each family member. Turn on light dimmed inthe night, but full brightness during day. Thank you.

      Hey jsevcik, working on it! Complex Flows are a little more complex to fit into a good streamlined video, but that's my challenge ;). I will try to tie in a few more complex Flows into the videos for you and other more advanced users. So stay tuned!

    What should be the advanced settings of the Motion Sensor for this to work? What's happening for me is that once it's triggered, it doesn't register new movements for a while...

    When will it be possible to set custom inactive times for a zone? 1 minute is a bit to short, but 5 minutes is too long in my case

      Hey L H, Thanks for the feedback, will relay this internally. Have seen this comment a few times, and I think the team will definitely take a closer look at this.

    What about the smartthings sensors? Both motionsensor and the multi sensors?

    Hi Alex. Nice flow-example. Only, who wants to turn on their lights during daytime? So, there needs to be a time-window added. My question is; should the time-window be set as "when" card or as "and" card? The reason for asking is, that when the time-window is set as "when-card", does the time-window needs to be longer then the delay-time of the zone-activity? Setting the time-window as "and-card" will have Homey check the zone-activity timer the hole day long, doing nothing with it, until it falls within the "and-time-card". Which is best? Which takes less resources/processor-activity from Homey?

      Hi Paul, when you have the fibaro sensors, you also will be able to detect light (lux), so, make a flow that when there is activity in the room and the lx is lower than for example 5, the light will turn on. This works great for me! And it is even better then setting up a time window. Mark

    • @homey
      @homey  3 роки тому

      Hey Paul, setting a time window under the And section is the way to go. Homey will always trigger the Flow upon a sensor trigger (When card), then check the And conditions, if these are NOT met, the Flow will NOT continue. If these are met, 'time is after sunset' then the Flow will continue and the Then cards are activated. Handy to also know is that there is an 'else' function, this can be added if you want something else to happen during the day when this Flow triggers. E.g. 'Else, open the blinds'. You can access the Else function by holding and dragging a When card.

      @@markblonk1 Thanks for responding Mark. My situation is not turning on lights, but turning off lights. I want to turn off garden-lights, approx 60 minutes after going to bed. So, I need the zone-activity to tell Homey that there is no activity for 1 hour between 23:00 - 01:00 h, so Homey can turn off the garden-lights. The time-window is needed, because there can be no activity for 1 hour during the evening, because we are watching a movi or so. But Alex advised to set the time-windows as "and" card, so I will try this.

    It would be nice to be able to flash lights without to turn on an off in a flow. Flash for x seconds

    Alex I have a big challenge with my Fibaro motion sensor combined with homey. If I optimize it without much delay my battery won’t last more then 2 months. If I add more delay the battery will last longer but the delay is so long that it messes up the detection.

    • @homey
      @homey  3 роки тому

      Hey MrDarkblue, That is indeed a challenge. 2 Months battery live seems very short for the Fibaro Motion sensor, but it does depend on sensor sensitivity and how often this is triggered. There is no real way to help this from Homey's side, perhaps Fibaro have a solution to extend their battery life? What are you using the Motion Sensor for? Is it needed that the motion sensor is triggered so often in a short time span? Let me know, maybe I can help think of a solution on the Flow side of things to help.

    So why is everyone using Countdown timer??

    • @homey
      @homey  3 роки тому

      Hey Ewoud, the Countdown timers are super handy if you are not basing a Flow on Zone Activity. So, say you want to have a timer start based on your bathroom ventilation turning on, this timer can then be reset each time the ventilation is turned on and off, then after it has been turned off for a full 30mins, then the ventilator actually stops running. That is where Countdown timers come in, this can be done upon most triggers in Homey, turning on your lights, or playing some music for example. It's up to you, but they run further than sensor activity, which is what Zone Activity uses.

    Hi Homey,
    Question: When I set times in the "AND" section to have lights on after 19:00 for example. The lights will only turn on when a zone becomes active after 19:00.
    But imagine, the zone becomes active 18:55 and stays active till 22:00. Will the lights then never go on because the "becomes active" card is never triggered again after 19:00 ?

    • @homey
      @homey  3 роки тому

      Hey Wilbert, yes, in essence you are correct. If your WHEN card is triggered, but your AND card stops the Flow because the condition is not met, then the lights will not turn on. Now, if the zone becomes inactive, and then becomes active again, which will very likely happen. Then the Lights will turn on. If, time is after 19:00 of course.

    • @jtryland101
      @jtryland101 2 роки тому

      If you do it the other way around? "WHEN: time is: 19:00 +", "AND: Zone is active", "THEN: Turn on lights". Will this work?

    How does it work with a motion sensor if you have a cat?

    • @homey
      @homey  3 роки тому +3

      Depending on the Motion Sensor, you can change the sensitivity via Devices > Motion Sensor > Settings and changing the sensitivity value. You may need to tweak this to account for a pet. Fibaro' Motion Sensor is a good example of a device with quite detailed settings that can be changed.

      My cat is also my biggest intruder when im not at home. I guess the cat loves disco with all the flashing lights :P. It is a hard problem to tackle as the sensor is right, there is motion.
