Great comment! :) My pleasure!!! We had an incredibly wonderful time exploring the fort and being treated so well by those who serve there. Grateful for your warm hospitality. Inspiring, adventurous, fun and informational! Keep up the dedicated work!
It's really nice that they got your son involved in the Canon demonstration. I hard to imagine being a soldier in those days giving your life for a new found freedom. Awesome job brother!
So true, Eric! Thankful for the brave then and now that fight for our freedom. They were hanging on for their lives and I view the place as a tourist attraction! :)
Thanks for showing this significant place in US history. It is really interesting to see how they lived there. I like they let your son have a hands-on experience, this is pretty cool. I am sure my kids would love that! Thanks for a nice video and have a great week, Randy!
Randy, Aha - here is the excellent volunteer guide you saw later at the battlefield park near New Orleans. This is a very interesting National Monument, and looks like Shane had a great day with Mom and Dad. Great demonstration on the cannon. THANK YOU FOR THE HISTORIC TOUR, . . . Mike
hahah "Sir, Yes, Sir" What a fort, incredible to see how they reinforced and created their base. I would have been pumped to mess with a canon at that age!! haha
Yeah, definitely a highlight for Shane to have that personal demonstration from the man. I was never a big history guy in school, but came to appreciate it more with age. Now I'm fascinated to visit these places and stand on the actual ground that I only heard about in a textbook. Take care!
The architecture was the first thing I noticed- very cool, intricate and intriguing! Shane must have had fun learning hands on how to set off a cannon (just what you need, right?) 😂
Wow, the fort is even cooler than I thought! Fun activity for your son to pretend to shoot a canon :D It is amazing the amount of gun powder needed to shoot this canon ball! Awesome historic place and great video Randy!
Always good to see a new clip. Enjoyed both of them. Was this just a week end getaway for the 3 of you or part of a bigger trek? I'm still looking forward to seeing the rest of your California trip. This looks like a pretty cool stop. I'm driving thru central New York next year if all goes as planned from Buffalo to Maine( Acadia)
Cool, you will go right past this place if you want to make a stop. A half day should be enough to get a feel of this strategic fort. Yeah, a lot of video edits to catch-up on - just added 6 more from the Montana trip! We did this trip after Julie finished church VBS and needed a break - 3 days/2 nights. Hit 4 stops, the 2 videos posted and VanBuren and Cooperstown (Baseball Hall of Fame). Beautiful area in upstate NY. Have a great week!
It is a a lot of fun when the Fort Stanwix fired real gun powder in the large cannons. When I was a child for a the 4th of July the Fort fired the cannons off and they are very loud compared to any fireworks. That is over 30 years ago so it might be done any more, due to the loud noise.
Yes, not sure if I'll get up there again, but it was worth driving up from NJ. Saratoga and VanBuren are kind of in the area too. We went to Valley Forge about 2 years ago. Love it there! Thankfully that one is only about an hour from our house.
Did you go to the Oriskany Battlefield right next door? I am told more men were killed at Oriskany than all of the other Revolutionary battlefields combined!
Fort Stanwix and the Oriskany battle field played a very important role in the colonies fight for independence if Stanwix would of fell the colonies may have very well lost the fight for independence
Thank you for making us look so COOL!!! 😎 😎 😎

That fort is well preserved. Hope to visit one day. Thanks for the history lesson.
Hope you can make it out, neat place of American history. Not far from the Cooperstown Hall of Fame if you are into baseball nostalgia.
It's not well preserved. It's completely new construction. The fort was never there in reality. Look up the construction photos.
3:57 an unenthusiastic "Bippity-Boppity-Doo" was perfect. I was his age when I was last here and am 26 now! Never forgot it. Thanks for posting this

Yes, Shane will always remember that. The guy was so nice to come out and give Shane a personal demonstration!
That looked like a really large fort. Glad Shane was able to get involved so much! Looks like you all had a good time!
Cool place with a lot of neat history. Special to visit these places that most only read about in a history book.
I am from saudi Arabia
Thank you for this video

What a great piece of history! 👍😎 ~Maverick
Thanks, it was an interesting place!
Great place, the kid really like to fire up the canon, like the old costumes
Thanks, my friend! Great memories!

I will use this in my classroom this year. Great job!
Just shared your kind words with my wife and son! We are encouraged and happy to hear that! Have a great week!

Yeah, let's hope he doesn't try to recreate that one in the home. After the 3 girls, the uniqueness of raising a son!
What a beautiful video dear friend!!
Appreciate the kind words!

Appreciate that! :) Love seeing all these historical sites up close in person! Have a great week!

Wow, what a story! I sure do miss those days growing up with less regulations and complainers! Thanks for the comment!
Nice fort, I need to add this to my list to check out. If you ever have time you should check out Valley Forge near Philly PA.

Was that Mitch Jerbert at 4:20?? ;) Fun spot!
Haha! Have you guys been there?
Nope, furthest we've been is Sleepy Hollow!
Did you go to the Oriskany Battlefield right next door? I am told more men were killed at Oriskany than all of the other Revolutionary battlefields combined!
Hi Michael, yes they spoke about that very unique battle. Wish we would have had the time to visit that tragic location.

Thanks for the insightful comment Neil! Love US history.
Remember me and my friend asked for your youtube channel card
Totally! So cool to meet you guys in NY and thanks for checking out our channel/video! Have a great week, Stacia!
What was your favorite part
Probably have to say the cannon demonstration. Your favorite?
United States OF AMERICA, no AMERICA
Thanks for watching!
