About Gold Shaw Farm: Gold Shaw Farm is more of a farm-in-progress than an honest-to-goodness farm. We dream that someday we can transform our 150+ acre parcel of land into a regenerative and productive homestead and farm.

Next time you need to set poles, instead of using concrete use gravel and sand so in case you need to move them you could use the footing and post. Same results and better use of what you have.

Morgan - it’s amazing to me how you can be a dude alone tinkering on a plot of grass (animal friends aside) while simultaneously hanging out with tens of thousands of people. It’s astounding really. The humor of your unique brain translated into witty verbal essays and editing only gets sharper as you grow.

I noticed that when things were getting so hard and pushing through the hard wasn't working, you gave yourself a break. What's to be congratulated, is that you came back to the project after building skills and efficiency and finished it. It's so easy to get derailed and fail to return to what we started. But I suspect what allowed you to re-engage was giving yourself grace and understanding for the struggle instead of shame and blame. Good job!

@@sjbock I'm chronic with Babesiosis, which is another tick disease, and likely the worst because it's not bacterial; it is a protozoa, similar to Malaria.
Frequent tick checks throughout the day/time exposed. Two methods of belief are: 1) completely cover your body with clothing and tuck all seams; 2) wear as little clothing as possible and check often. I prefer the latter, when weather permits, and I keep a garden hose exposed to sun to wash frequently. I also suggest removing all outdoor clothes before entering your house, and then placing them in the washer. Ticks are bad here in southern VT this year, and my/our negligence to follow this protocol has resulted with ticks crawling around indoors.
Ticks need time to latch on and borough before transmission occurs; thinly skinned parts of our bodies, such as the back of a knee or at the base of the skull, are more susceptible.
      Hope this helps!

Since you're also a fan of Greg Judy, any chance you'll start unrolling large bails of hay on the pasture in fall before you bring all the cattle to the barn for winter? It can help fertilize the upper pasture, and keep the area around the barn from concentrating nitrogen. I understand water is the issue, but as the mild winter showed, the quick connects can allow for you to fill a tank 1x a day, and extend the season out away from the confined area.

You can push fence in the ground with your tractor bucket on the front. Just put the fence post in a pipe and push it in the ground. I felt that frustration with fencing, we have giant Montana boulders are under the grass and you'll be going along everything fine then clunk...rock for several feet. It can be really frustrating sometimes.
You did an amazing job with your fence, it's great to recognize and celebrate your growth ❤

That new barn is really coming along well. Fence building is an important part of your farm. Making fence decisions for your farm like the post you chose to use is vital to your farm.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, and say 🎶 "Boogie Boogie Boogie" 🎵 has never before been used in the context of electric fences on a farm. 🤔

You are looking very lean especially compared to last summer. I do hope it was intentional and you are as healthy as you look.

I should mention that Alison is so awesome…to see her every once I in a while…it’s a little mysterious…I am not judging…I totally agree…I wouldn’t want to be in the spotlight…I’ve always been behind the curtain myself….but you have peeked my curiosity…Alison I totally think if you get over the shyness…you could have your ownutube channel…you are both pretty much so down to earth and enthusiastic…thank you both
