I’m bike messenger in Vancouver and this mix gets me in the zone while I deliver packages. It’s a dope vibe and it always a pleasure listening to this mix.
As a 90's kid, I did not experience the soul-altering, reality-shattering, vibe-morphing magic of Jungle until this past year. IMO the style is the most captivating sub-genre of D&B. You my friend, have done an incredible job capturing the essence of 90s legends LTJBukem, Peshay, Mouly, etc. and put your own beautiful spin on it. The sounds you use are clean and somehow, they make me FEEL as if I am _in_ a jungle moreso than some of the most popular sounds of the 90s. Keep up the fantastic work! YOUR GREATNESS IS NOTICED.
1999 was the last time I was optimistic about the future. This playlist makes me nostalgic for that time. Since 9/11, the 21st century has been down hill
While hope in the world may be an impossible task, I hope you find other beautiful things in life to be optimistic about, even if small. The small things can often bring the greatest hope... even reflecting upon the past can give hope! God bless man.
Been into jungle since 97 and i have to say this is absolutely superb, it tips more towards the video game jungle of the era but is absolutely banging start to finish.
@@neuralfold Hell yeah, videogame jungle is the best! Amazing work man, I'm loving this mix, and all tracks were made like 2~3 years ago? They fooled me into thinking it was jungle made in the 90s, with all the charm of the era. I'm so glad you didn't fall into the temptation of using modern mixing techniques like many do, everything sounds super authentic.
akin to an out of body experience. the moment before the jolt of the falling dream. of weightlessness; pins and needles through my whole body. i am lost in silent hill. i am all the particles in the universe vibrating at the right frequency to take me to a place where no one but me and my skin can hear the blood thrumming in my ears. this is the part where I forget who I am. I come back to this every time I want to feel it all over again. I feel like nothing. I feel like everything. I am small, up too late, past my bedtime. I lay on my livingroom carpet while the adult swim bumpers are playing and I feel the same way as I do now listening to this.
I knew this was going to be special after listening to the first 10 seconds, and without noticing it the playlist was half an hour in. Just how this is made I can hear influences and it takes me so many places musically having been an avid listener and student of dnb since the early 90s, I feel like I took a small vacation inside my brain. This is going to be in my favorites forever.
GREAT to hear this sort of junglism and 90s garage revival... Skank Times Are Back!! 47:00 That same haunted Gzzig Gzzzigg voice stuck between two slammers...
Amazing psiX. You've made the classic sound again, very refreshing, reminding me of the days playing PS1 all Saturday with my jungle CD's from The Wall in my discman. I'm a young 38, still listening to my LTJ Bukem (you are more on the ambient side)
TNice tutorials is by far the best soft soft basic tutorial, I rember when I just started learning, tNice tutorials was so helpful!! I’ve now been releasing edm
New to the genre as of like. This year. Blown away, so good. Speaks volumes to have all these long time listeners in the comments celebrate how connected this is to the old days. Also just recently got Ableton to finally dive into production, thanks for the superb reference tracks 😅
The samples and drums legit have me thinking about the soundtrack from Ape Escape on the Playstation. And that was indeed made in 1999, so you absolutely nailed it. Was my gateway drug into this genre in the first place.
just like other people said here, this captures properly the vibes / sounds of old school intelligent dnb / jungle !!!! i'm definitely digging this!!!!!!!
Shit absolutely bangs. UA-cam kept showing me this until eventually I was caught by autoplay and it was a nice surpise. I was working and next thing I know I was already half way into this. Good stuff
If you did a 12" release of "PSIX Room 99" we would Truly(!!!) appreciate this as a part of our collections! Or, even as a perfect first time vinyl album for somebody lucky enough to across it before it sells out! :) I enjoy your new stuff too!, of course, it's positive stuff, & totally nice to take a vacation from the dark side now and again! bahaha - This deserves a physical release! (I've been periodically visiting back to see if it's happened.. but.. no luck yet) You could do it as a double or a part 1 and part 2, so you can fit all the tracks in the best quality (especially for the low end and thus, sound systems - more record space per tune = better low end translation on to vinyl) or maybe just a single vinyl with a good of mix of tracks chosen, if money is an issue - there's always pre-order, though. But you know a double 12" would only truly do this justice! ;) - as , now I count, there's 17 tracks (4x smaller intermission tracks) = 4 per side(1 side with 5) x 2 12"plates The other options would be a Digipack CD or a Jewel Case Cd (Pizza Hotline did one that was like a PS1 game, with a plastic jewel case and a black-backed CD that looks just like a PS1 game. It's pretty nifty! :) (personally I too prefer the plastic CD "Jewel" cases and proper disks, as the Digipack ones are sort of cheap in terms of the disks being a-like to the CD-rewritable disks but with disk and album artwork which make them pretty nice(..enough). But of course, they are still fine, I do have a few Digipak albums from artists like you on Bandcamp and they are as general high quality as any CD, audio wise (tested on systems, sound great). & then, the other option of a Cassette release - keeping in mind it would have to be mastered again to maximize and balance the quality for the sound/frequency responses of tape (likely 'Type 1' tape) Please Please do consider a physical release of PSIX Room 99. Mad Respect whether you do it or not, we'll be listening. Thanks for reading! From an excited listener since 2020, Ford! Junglist hailing from down under -Spring time '24 New Zealand!
Thanks for your comment! I need to look into this in terms of economics and logistics because I can't justify the investment if I can't be sure I'll have a return, and given that I have a daytime job that takes up a lot of my time and energy, I wouldn't be able to handle orders myself in a timely manner. This is mostly the reason why I never looked into physical releases, as music is just something I do for fun on my free time, and handling the business side of it is something that takes some dedication to do well.
I LOVE jungle mixes and I find myself coming back to this one in particular again and again, it feels like a legitimate album where each song was crafted to fit in! Gives me nostalgia vibes from memories I don't have, tremendous job :)
it reminds me on a mix i had on cassete in like early 2000s ... Excellent stuff here. I missread and thought it was another those of Playstation 1 DnB mixes - turns out somebodys been doing heavy production work on the stuff that influenced generations of djs and producers. Well played sir. :D Came for the console nostalgy, stayed for the music. Job well done i guess. Will bang this for years to come.
Psyck phat beautiful runs. Drop the beat as it goes on and on and on. Whatever that means. Thank you for putting these people on wax. Where ever you are I want you to know these selections are the essence of what drew me back in the late 80's until now to electronic music whether it be badass industrial or a chill session with psix!
Really reat mix of original music.. You really nailed the 90's atmospheric jungle vibes.. Looking forward to checking out the rest of your discography!!
this is so good. really. nailed it. this is awesome man. i thought this was a mix of tracks you selected until i noticed a certain style and saw its your songs. you got the sauce homie

its a freakin movement, it just materialized out of the blue because of the algorithm.

Very crisp

Absolute classic!
I like how the Tranquility track uses the Do The Do Break. Kind of rare to see that break used in various old-school Jungle tracks.
This mix is massive! It deserves to be pressed on vinyl, I'd pick it up in a heartbeat
