Absolutely love it! Thanks for sharing. Such an old-school, classic rod. Park her next to any Ferrari or $200K car and she'll be the one everyone loves.
Nice throw-back to the 50's when things were slower, people nicer and a "Sunday drive" was the family thing to do.... Joni Mitchell another great Canadian sang it best...you don't know what you've got till it's gone...
Sweet! My older brother had a 51 Chevy Deluxe. He sold it for $125.00, near as I can figure, around 1960. I truly enjoy your videos. Your tips have helped me tremendously. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I'll never fathom the guys who dump tons of money into a "show quality" car, only to trailer it everywhere it goes. Point me to the guys and gals who build them up to do what they were made to do....jump in, fire up, and enjoy every mile making memories. Glad to see the Deluxe out of its seasonal slumber and being enjoyed. She's a beautiful cruiser.
Now if that don't make me miss my old '51 hard top with the 235 and the powerglide , 30.4 h.p. at the rear end lolololol. It cruised around nice though , overwound the dash clock and never got it working again , sold it in 1980. 😥
Thanks for the great video Fitzee! My mom won a 1950 Chevy Bel Air and it was Green with a white roof. She was just married and buying store bought cigarettes. She won a toaster in a pack of Belvedere and my Dad gave her hell for buying store bought smokes. Being my Mom she continued on doing it and won a new car. My parents were saving for a better car so my Dad suggested they use the money to take a trip to Cape Breton Island and visit my Mom's family. The trip from Brantford, Ontario took 3 whole days!!!
Hi Fitzee, I'm watching through your back catalogue and whilst looking at this I saw that rusting boat and it had me thinking I bet Tony could restore that with a bit of the butt and cut method👍.
Now you have pulled her out, could you widen your storage bay by another foot? I'm working on my 57 chevy half tone step side at the moment. Your welding tips are very helpful for me, especially but welding repair panels. Cheers.
Wow 20K subscribers, she is taking off like a rocket now congrats! Love the car. Looking forward to see what you do with the Bronco, I'm working on a '78 right now!
This is a great vlog. Thanks for posting and sharing this vlog with us. My only observation with comment, you do need a bigger shop/garage! Got some great builds, but your Chevy needs some TLC. I sure wished that old I6 was in there with its great sound, just my preference.
I just bought a 51 also. The guy I bought it from yanked the engine and transmission out to put into a period correct 1930 Chevy hot rod truck. I have a 77 Buick Skylark that has a 307 and 3 speed auto trans in it that was rear ended a couple years ago so I'm going to cut it up and put the entire front suspension and drive train in the 51 and make it a daily driver/cruise-in car.
Love the old Chevy Deluxe I've got a Tacoma Trd 4x4 Sport in the driveway. Although I do love the truck and its never given me a problem not once. Somedays, I feel like trading her in for an old Jalopy, I don't know what it is but I've always have been very fond of those old cars.
I've only ever owned 1 new car in my life and halfway through the payment book I thought "This is fu(king crazy, why Am I paying this much for a car". Right before I paid it off I bought a running driving project car and after I got the new car paid off I sold it and put the money in the project car. I will NEVER own a car newer than 1985 because once they went to all the computers and electric everything it ruined the experience of actually driving and they are nothing more than throw-aways bland blobs of plastic, they have no soul.
That’s a beautiful car definitely my favorite and you’re gonna laugh at me for this my second favorite is an AMC 1976 gremlin but I would rather have the Chevy but yet again such a beautiful ride I hope one day I can have one As nice as yours
It is what it is. Walls in shop are not painted as if they were it look a mess. Every few weeks I gutt the shop and blow off thr walls and everything. I learned a long time ago that if you want a pretty shop you better not do any work in it. Specially bodywork and grinding.
When can I come pick up my cruiser? 😄 When I was 5 years old my parents bought a used 50 deluxe tan lower brown top. That was in the year 1955. Thanks for sharing this and stirring my memories. 👍🤙😃
That brings back memories I had one of those back in 1970 on Vancouver island. Paid a whole 50 dollars it had a flathead six and 3 on the tree.it was a great ole car and fun to drive as long as you weren’t in a hurry🤠👍
This guy makes things seem so simple and is the calmest person working on these vehicles I have ever seen more patience than anybody I know but he's right no reason to get all mad and upset so I'm taking a lesson from him now instead of getting all mad I just step back a minute think it through and calm down thanks for everything fitzees and I love this car looking forward to more videos
S10 frames in these chevy are trouble. The rad support won't work with the steering box. If it was me I do a mustang II front end or a later model ranger. It dont have a steering box. The stock frames are best kind and any frame swap is going take alot of floor hacking.
It has a reliable v8 in it now with power steering and brakes. I'm a hot rodder. Stock is nice for Sunday cruz. I like the long hall with some comforts
My first car was a 1952 chevy Belair 2 Dr hardtop it was red with a white top. It had a sunvisor and a continental kit on the back. Beautiful leather upholstery with little red and white balls all around the roof on the inside it also had blue lights on top of the dash in the corners of the windshield and red lights under the dash. It had a wind-up clock and an AM radio. I bought it when I was sixteen for $75.00 ( 1966) and it only had 32000 miles and was in mint condition. I left home to enter the army at eighteen and asked my Dad to keep it for me. A few years later he sold it to somebody, and I have never forgiven him to this day. I do like your car it reminds a lot of my 52.
That’s the whaler in Conception Hr. at the end of the video isn’t it... and the plane is in Hr Grace... you took her on quite the cruise.... The old girl looks good.... Seeing that whaler really hit home... That’s where i grew up
Absolutely love it! Thanks for sharing.
Such an old-school, classic rod. Park her next to any Ferrari or $200K car and she'll be the one everyone loves.
I love how you made it more "modern" and more drivable with the upgraded drivetrain, but it still looks factory. Great job!
Nice throw-back to the 50's when things were slower, people nicer and a "Sunday drive" was the family thing to do.... Joni Mitchell another great Canadian sang it best...you don't know what you've got till it's gone...

Everything has its place, some cars deserve a 6 digit restoration, some cars deserve someone to do as you describe.
I build and repair hotrods for a living and a life.
Day triping.👍
If ya dont drive em, what good are they?
@@TheRoadhammer379 But all cars desereve to be driven, that's why they were built.
Ahh, the Golden Age of American cars, and your's is sweet... even in Canada... You need to "fabricate" her own shed. She shouldn't be in a cage.

Glad I discovered your channel! Great stuff! Hello from Prince Edward Island!
Such a cool car. I love the bare bones simple cars like that.
A great contrast with the loads of LS powered cars out there today.
She looks like she was super solid rig you got there. Also jealous you must have some awesome fishing out there!
Thanks. Lots of restrictions on fishing. But we do all right when the seasons are open. Car is far from mint. It has it share of patch work
I'm jealous.... my '61 Impala convertible is 140 miles from me, ready to go except for the virus lockdown.
Now that's living life got your car and your girl and cruising
She needs her own home lots of room around back of the garage for it lol
So glad I stumbled upon your channel. Great looking Chevy and awesome cruiser. Not over the top just sweet and simple. I look forward to more.

She's a beauty! Nothing wrong with power steering, brakes and suspension and engine swap, rest is stock. Basic no no sense paint.

Sorry I love the stock look but not the running gear.
Beautiful car. Love the flat black paint. And the chrome trim by the gas door. Dont make them like that anymore.
