Corkboard contact paper....who knew🤷🏾♀️....thanks for sharing this Mimi!
My pleasure!
You must have read my mind! I LITERALLY was thinking 🤔 about getting a mini ironing board for all these masks I was creating! Thanks!!
Awesome!!!
Wow it's like you knew I was just looking up tabletop ironing boards! Trying this ASAP.
🙌🏽
OMG, me too! I was thinking about it this morning!
I love this!!!!! I am not only a seamstress but also a quilter. This is just perfect for my needs. I am going to a quilt retreat next month and think I need to make one of these for that. Thanks for a great tutorial.........I do have one suggestion. I worked in a picture framing shop years ago and learned how to stretch canvas on frames. You start on one side and put the staple in the center, Then go to the other side and pull and put your second staple. Now go to one end and tug in the center and add the 3rd staple and opposite side 4th staple. Now work your way out one staple on each side of these all around.............in the end it will lay very flat and there will be no ripples...............I noticed that when you did the long sides there were a few waves along the end and this will prevent that.
Great project ! This is better then the small ironing boards because these are flat & low not high & raised. So much more comfortable. Thanks a bunch Mimi 😘
Thanks so much for this affordable option. You’re the best. God bless.❤️
This is a really great idea! I hate moving to my big ironing board, but it is so necessary. This is a great option for smaller projects.
Thank you!!
Best DIY for iron boards out there.🌹
I was just about to purchase a tabletop ironing board...I like this idea better and it is soooo much cheaper! You are the best!
I like this idea. I bought a new iron along with material to make masks (my dog chewed through the cord of my old iron). But I didn't buy an ironing board. And I didn't see any mini ironing boards that I liked. So I can just make my own. Thank you for showing how it's done. Btw, your nails are pretty.
Thank you so much!!
Last trip to Home Depot, I saw a bin of plywood "scraps" leftover from cuts made in the store. Think that's where I'll start my search. Thank you for this very informative tutorial 👍!
They're cheap, and you might be able to get them to cut it for you for a small fee.
Mimi g, you are so inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us all. Much love to you.. peace!
I did one similar t oi this, last year. I used felt fabric, and a snack tray table. When I'm done seeing fir the day, I fold it up and put it away in my craft room. I like the idea if using the cutting board. I can use the top to one if my broken tray tables. Then I can pit it in my sewing cart when I "sew and go." Thanks for your tip.
Just what I needed! I’m creating an ironing board out of a cabinet I have next to my cutting table and was trying to figure out how to create a part that folded down that I could still use to expand the board for larger pieces. Perfect timing
Hi Mimi g I have my material and I am ready to make my board. I will show you via video once it's done :-) thank you so much. You are an inspiration to me. Much love! :-)
Love the ironing boards.Thank you from Trinidad.
This is such a good idea! I’ve been using a broken tabletop board but I love that I could just throw this one behind me if it’s in the way 😆
This is such a neat idea. It is right at your disposal and you do no have to move away from the sewing machine. Thank you, Mimi! Happy New Year to you and your family!
I love the top you have on
Merci beaucoup pour cette super idée. Merci
Brilliant idea! I got up to iron many times to iron my project today and it was quite annoying after awhile.
Absolutely loved the mini ironing board!!!🤗
Very good, nice and clean. Thanks
Just what I was looking for, thank you!
I love the neat, clean back of the board! ❤️😍

Thanks Mimi!

Great tutorial... thanks for sharing
Hi! I know this isn’t relevant to this particular video but I was wondering if you could do is sew along for Vogue 8333? It’s an advance couture pattern and you’re such an amazing teacher. 💕
Your videos are very nice and cool. I have been watching some of your videos and some of the other youtubers and have decided to start my own channel, so i would like to thank you. EWS
You are AMAZING
Great idea, I never press my seams until the end due to the inconvenience you mentioned. Thank you.
Great idea 💡! I think 🤔 I will buy me a little iron. Where do yo bu y yours?
LOVE this idea!!
Thank you!!
That is super awesome! Thank you!
My pleasure!
Cool! 😎
Awesome! Thank you.
LOve you for all you do...Thanks so much. Peace! :-)
I used to have one next to sewing machine on the sewing table but then my mother sent me her is Bernina that is taking up that space. With 3 machines I decided to convert an Ikea raskog cart. With an the small Ikea ironing board I already had. But instead of screwing down the board to the top upside basket as others did per Instagram i choose to add a hinge under the board so that I wouldn't lose the basket space. I love it cause it's on wheels, and depending on which machine I may be using I can just grab and drag it over. There are times I'm using multiple machines in the same project.
I have something similar but I like the board and cork!
Awesome! Thanks for watching
I made one today thank you for this video
Mimi G, please post the device you’re using for overhead shots.
Perfect
What’s the name of the little mini iron that you’re using
Very Nice!!!
Nice
Probably a dumb question, but when you say “give it a press” about the cork board backing, do you mean with an iron or just literally press it down??
Iron
"Pressing" is slightly different from "ironing" in that you aren't trying to get out the wrinkles, you are pushing down and concentrating on the seams to make them nice and crisp.
I love this Mimi. Thank you so much
My pleasure!
GENIUS!!!!!
Thanks!
Thank you for this.
Sounds good but it’s best for me to get up and walk need some type of exercise
Hello, I made a board last year and I can’t understand why it took me so long before I made one.
Can you share with us the information about the iron you used in the video. Thank you for sharing your talents.
It's by Oliso.. (I think) I just actually looked it up...hahaha (after I ran her video back 2 times) You probably figured that out by now :)
Thank you! 🤣😂👩🏾🦲😍😘
Please share the name or some such thing for the stapler so I can find the right one please!! Thank you!
Ok here you go: www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B087P6M6GK?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
What size is the board ?
I have the same little iron.
Hi Julia, can you tell us where you purchase the little iron please.
I bought it from the company that makes them through a promotional that Mr.Domestic was having on his channel
Hi, what is the lengh and width of the board?
I don’t know lol. Just cut whatever size you want that suits your needs 😊
Great idea! Did you have your baby and was it a boy or a girl?
She actually lost her baby at five months. I believe it was a boy. You wouldn't really know unless you followed her on Instagram.
Genius!
😍
When I had to get a new iron, I got Rowenta with 1800 watts for steam and the steam went thru everything ironed on. Well not today. Thank you
Why aren’t you using the industrial sewing machine? Take it from an old lady, don’t sit too long!
