  • Since my first ride video was primarily in the dirt I thought I should give the bike a road test as well!

    I don't bother using first gear on the street -it pulls fine starting in 2nd
    Cover your lower frame with some tape or something, boot rub wore the paint off the frame in under 200 miles on mine!
    Good review, I totally agree, it's a great bike, fun to ride and a massive upgrade over the 250

    • @TheCoolestCourier
      @TheCoolestCourier  3 роки тому +2

      Good idea. I just wear high-top motorcycle shoes so it doesn't feel like I'm touching the frame but I will definitely check. Thanks for the tip

    I went down to my dealership in 23’ and they had a 300L & 450RL I chose the 300L because it was half the price of the 450 (I wanted the 450)
    Almost 6,000 miles later, I am glad I got the least expensive version. Because it’s for backroads cruising at 55 and fun on dirt roads.
    It’s not good for transportation. It’s scary on the freeway. It’s like running for your life when cars are doing 80.
    So I just consider it as a fun bike and use it accordingly.

    Hard to beat Honda reliability! I love small dispacement thumpers, which is all I've owned since the mid 1970s. I treated myself to a BMW G310GS for my 60th birthday and it's very similar in features to your new CRF300L. I looked at the Rally version after your previous video, and it looks like a larger tank (more better!) and small windshield but an inch less suspension travel and ground clearance (boo!). I mostly commute around town, but I bought my baby GS for old man solo adventure camping with back roads, gravel roads, dirt roads and very mild off road. I love the large rack, which seems to be missing from the CRF300L Rally.

    • @TheCoolestCourier
      @TheCoolestCourier  3 роки тому

      Yeah in person the the Rally looks a little funny. But the extra gas and windshield would be nice.

    I don't know why people complain about the brakes. If you grab a handful you can easily lock up the knobbie tyres on tarseal (or activate the ABS) and there's no point in having more than that. The brake feel is optimised for feel and control in low traction off-road conditions.

    • @TheCoolestCourier

    drop 2 teeth on the rear sprocket=6% more top speed should make it more highway friendly along with a reflashed ECU for 91 octane from 550 performance

    I'll be on the freeway keep it 65-70 so i'll be the only bike in the slow lane. but thats what I bought it for to go explore and the brakes seem fine to me on the street i rarely use the rear brake

    Sore butt and very hot right leg in city rides beyond an hour and shifting from stop light to stop light on city streets gets very tiring. Nevertheless, I find myself enjoying the city sights.

    • @TheCoolestCourier

      It would probably be just fine but you could just get the KLX 300 Supermoto already done from the factory and it makes more power. Or if you really like this Honda engine you could get the cb300r and it will handle much better
