    So few teachers are capable of this level of teaching, but every student should receive this level of teaching. Thank you, Sifu!

    I remember when you talked about this in class. Unfortunately, not many were actually listening back then. Maybe we were more interested in who could fajin harder! 🤣 But here, with the contextual elements, it makes a whole lot of sense. Thank you for this lecture!

      Hello Juan. Thank you for your input. Back to that time, I was not ready to write down these information and make them in a video format. I think it is the right time for it:)

    I appreciate your didactic method, taking the time to introduce the logic of the term of emptines and fullness in martial arts from the cognitive perspective of meaning and analysis.

    Thank you laoshi, I practiced immersing my attention in dantian according to your recommendation in another video about xiu dao, and over time I began to feel something similar to what you call the substance power. There was a feeling of strength and stability in the lower back and legs.

    While I practice a very different style of baguazhang (jiulong baguazhang of Li Family Daoqiquan), these principles are really helping me to analyze my practice in the absence of my Shifu. Thank you.

      Just a little personal point on what bagua has done for me over 4 years. I had a wrecked my knee, neck, hands, and shoulder from a motorcycle accident I had at 15. I self taught from a wide range of online videos and haven't needed physiotherapy for over 2 years now. It has transformed and healed my body noticeably. I am 61. When I started circle walking I thought I was going to die, but I stuck with it.....lol. You are helping people you wouldn't even know about Hai....thanks!

    I generally agree with you that Confucianism is the major philosophy in Chinese society, I'm still convinced with the expression "儒表法里“ to describe the government system since the time of the Han Dynasty.

    • @HaiYangChannel
      @HaiYangChannel  3 роки тому +1

      Hello, 儒表法里 has nothing to do with Confucianism is the major philosophy in Chinese society. We are talking about two different topics.

    • @bredmond812
      @bredmond812 3 роки тому +1

      @@HaiYangChannel Ok. I understood 儒表法里 to mean that the government outwardly embraces Confucianism and encourages people to adopt those tenants, but in terms of planning policy, and executing laws, it uses a Legalist approach.
      While I have your attention, I wanted to mention how glad I am that you discuss Chinese philosophy so thoroughly in your videos as I have an interest in them, and have spent a very considerable time learning these ways, but there is no forum in my life to sustain my focus beyond my inherent fascination with Chinese philosophy, Daoist meditation, and Chinese martial arts. I have hoped to find a guide, and maybe I will gain much insight from your guidance. Perhaps after my long training process at my job is over, I will start learning again, and hopefully you can provide some tips and occasional assistance with that process?

      @HaiYangChannel  3 роки тому +1

      @@bredmond812 Interesting to know that you even know this term "儒表法里". It is not that a prevalent topic at all...OF course, we can talk about different topics about Chinese philosophy and culture in the future.

    Thank You. My thoughts; Yin and Yang are binary, but they are static entities, Xu and Shi are also binary, but they are more dynamic in their interchange, sorta like a video image of taijitu that keeps subtly alternating the amount of light-grey and dark gray components. Sorry about the rambling, I will try to apply this concept to Beng Quan.

    can you help me understand difference in terminology why xu shi is used sometimes, kai he sometimes, yin yang sometimes. Why are the different terms used? They all seem very similar concepts. Which situations would one choose each term rather than another?

    • @HaiYangChannel
      @HaiYangChannel  3 роки тому +1

      They are different terms in deed even though sometimes people use them interchangeably. I may make a new video about it in the future.

    can shi and xu also be called the seperation of yin and yang in taiji?

  • @onedirection3510

    Would it be correct to say that xu and shi fall inside the endless “mother concept “ of yin/yang?

    Thank you again for great video!
    How what does Xu Shi (insubstantial/substancial) adds on top of yin/yang to which yin may be insubtantial and yang substancial? I understand it in TCM where you can have either xu or shi of yin or yang; but I don’t see it in term of martial art which I understand xu shi as already cocered by yin yang...

    • @poodlefilmstrailer
      @poodlefilmstrailer 3 роки тому

      Could xu shi be considered as the gradient of yin yang? Like in trigrams with weak and strong yin and yang?

    • @HaiYangChannel
      @HaiYangChannel  3 роки тому +2

      There are different ways to express the same meaning. of course whatever can make it clear is correct, in my opinion.
