• Here I am showing my Husqvarna 535LS trimmer in action. I've had it for about a year and a half now using it commercially. It is heavy but you get used to it. It's got plenty of power.

I had a model older than this one that I love. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.

Very nice video, good use of that Husqvarna trimmer.

You keep putting out high quality vids and I appreciate it. I see you're running the 535. I just purchased the 525ls this week and I can't be happier with my purchase. These huskies have a very high power-to-weight ratio. My Stihl FS94R is my backup trimmer now since I got this new Husky.

+Altamahacat Cool. Yea I like Husqvarna. I'm still waiting for Brian at Top Notch to review his new Echo because I'm eyeballin' that one.

I looked at that same Echo 266T trimmer at the same time when I bought the 525ls. For a 25cc trimmer its as heavy as the Husky 535 with much less HP. It also has a hard to adjust carb with limiter caps that have to be pulled. The Huskies only need a splined screwdriver to make adjustments.
You can make a little more HP and have a cooler trimmer if you remove your muffler and drill some small holes in the baffle, bypassing the catalytic converter.

• @Something2LookAt
@Something2LookAt  8 років тому

Altamahacat Oooo, I like that idea of opening up the exhaust more and let it breath! That will make it louder but it's already loud. I didn't realize there was a catalytic converter in there? And if you say the 266 is as heavy as the 535, it's already a no go for me. I already have a big heavy trimmer. Thanks!

• @Altamahacat
@Altamahacat 8 років тому

The Cat bypass doesn't make it louder it just changes the tone of the muffler. When I did the muffler on the 525 it sounded more like the exhaust on my Husky 580BTS blower but not as loud. Here is a photo of the cat in my 327LDX. It should be very similar to the one in your 535. Also if you haven't done it, ditch the spark arresting screen since it causes power robbing back pressure especially when it gets clogged.

• @Something2LookAt
@Something2LookAt  8 років тому

Altamahacat Oh yea, I took the screen out when I assembled it. The pictures won't load but I think I get the idea.

Lovely trimmer mate but i think that you need to have the guard installed on the shaft as it help to deflect grass where it's not needed

What kind of string are you using? Is it wire cable? If so is there a head made for it?

• @Something2LookAt
@Something2LookAt  6 років тому

LOL! Well, it is officially Lo Noiz .130 spiral wrapped line. It is just shy of being cable. And actually, I remember years ago seeing some little cable length attachments that went on a special head for brush clearing. I think they even had little weights on the ends. Downright lethal if it get's ya.

I ordered a 535LS today from a local Husqvarna dealer. It was a pain finding a dealer and getting him to order it. I don't understand why it was so difficult. Husqvarna should sell directly from their website or through Amazon or something.

• @Something2LookAt
@Something2LookAt  7 років тому +2

I ordered mine from Amazon. Anyway, it will be worth the trouble. It's a very good machine. I eventually broke the clutch spring but it was easy to order the part and it was cheap. Not so easy to do the repair. Surprised me, it's a thick spring. But the machine is very strong and I push it to the max so I understand.

Bear legs? No shield down at the string head? WTH? How do you bump to extend the string and cut it off to length? I'm perplexed!

• @Something2LookAt
@Something2LookAt  6 років тому +2

When you bump it, it ratchets out a specific distance then stops until you bump it again. And it's about the right length without needing to be cut by the guard mounted cutter.

Pro gears and 4 stroke dngine csn handle big forestry saws, so long thin line wont be asbad then those with the home model cutters

Is that a 4 cycle? I'm looking at the 525 to have as my main squeeze so I can use the 128 as an edger + backup.

• @Something2LookAt
@Something2LookAt  8 років тому +1

It is 2 cycle. But seriously, you don't want a 535 to be your main trimmer. It's a handful. At 13 lbs, you'll find you'll only use it for the tough jobs. I use a 223 for most light stuff. Very light.

What I don't understand is how the LD128 is 28cc at $200 while the 225 is 25cc at $400. Why would it be more expensive? More metal, less plastic? Better built? Also, the 128 is rated at 1hp while the 252 is 1.3hp. I thought cc was the new rating for power, but now I'm confused about which would be more powerful.

• @Something2LookAt
@Something2LookAt  8 років тому +1

Ryan Whitfield cc is just the displacement. Cubic centimeters. Easier to get more horsepower from more cc but not necessarily better. I have had 2 of the 128's and I blew them up fast. While my 1st 223 lasted years. Got another one and I've got 3 years on it. They just really are better. Less powerful, but more reliable.
