Thx for Review, But i want to Point out . The Price Difference to Z8 2-16x50 is 1600.-€ ! The Field of view of the Steiner is Smaller yes, But the Long Distance clarity , Parallax Adjustment works flawless , in the Swaro It doesnt really Work That Sharp, and in the Low Light the Steiner gets the Edge. Have a Look at it …

I would like to point out some interesting facts after doing some research.
In regards of night vision usage, there is not many other 8x zoom scopes with 50mm objective on the market with a parallax control down to 20m. At least none I know off.
All premium scopes start at 50m which is sad for using devices like the Pard007.
Furthermore, it weighs less than 660g and is only 635mm long and has a field of view of 18.9m.
This makes it a perfect good choice for front clip ons (thermal or tubed or digital).
It is short enough to reach to the front and you see most of the screen.
Tell me anyone which scope on the market is capable of handling both, front and rear clip ons, like this one here.
I mean, in view of night vision usage, this scope stands alone in the market.
    Best regards.

Steiner also has the Predator 8. Why do they have two 8x lines and how do these compare to each other?

    • @OpticsTradeEU
      @OpticsTradeEU  11 місяців тому +4

Predator 8 Series of riflescopes are esentially the same as the Ranger 8. Predator series is more focused on the American market and Ranger 8 for the European market. Europeans prefere a bigger objective lens diameter, also the reticles differ - the reticles on the European market are a more simple 4-A hunting reticle and the Predator has SCR-MOA and E3 Reticles, which are not available in the Ranger 8 series. Thanks for watching!

Very interesting review. Thanks! There is not much Information out there about this scope and I was already looking forward to getting your review 👍🏻
Now, can you say how it compares in terms of optical quality to the Blaser B2 2.5-15x56 ?
They are about in the same price range.
By the way, a review of the Blaser B2 would be awesome!
    Thanks!

Blaser is more suitable for low light hunting, but Steiner has a bigger field of view for close range hunting. Unfortunately we haven't had the opportunity to compare them side by side. The review of the Blaser B2 2.5-15x56 will come soon so stay tuned!

    Thank you for the review.
As a starting hunter I was thinking about this scope and the mentioned Leica Fortis 6 2-12x50.
Since I don’t particularly would need the extra zoom, does the Leica give better low light optical quality or are there better buys in the max €2400,- price range?

I have no experience with the Steiner but I do own a Leica Fortis 2.5-15x56 and I can confirm that the low light optical performance of the Leica is impressive. Value for money wise, I consider it to be one of the best scopes in the market pushing well above its price range. Anyways I have to admit that Leica has always suited my eyes much better than Zeiss or Swarovski. I find the colours warmer and I find the image more balanced.

@@raulsanchezlanzas Wondering why you use the 2.5-15x56 instead of 2-12x50? Do you combine it with a red dot for a driven hunt? (If you do that)

@@Jonsoh811 I do not practice driven hunts anymore, just pure stalking. In my opinion, the 2.5-15x56 is the most verstile configuration one can possibly have keeping at the same time things sensible weight wise. I hunt chamois in the mountains of the north of Spain and I really appreciate the extra magnification for longer shots. I used to hunt with 3-12 riflescopes and I ended up changing all of them for 4-16, 3-18 or 2.5-15 configurations. Furthermore, I decided to go with a 56 mm objective lens since it is ideal for hunting in low light conditions (required for hunting red stags during the rutting season). To sum up, for my particular needs, a 2.5-15x56 rifle scope is without a doubt the best compromise: high field of view at low magnification, the capability of shooting small animals (like chamois and roe deer) at longer distances and excellent low light performance at dawn and dusk.
