Given how the maps are designed in splatoon 3, bubble blower would be so good for this game, it would allow for people to actually get in on some maps and could easily turn some games around especially in zones
A diffent approach to the insta-pop-combo would be a wind up time between reaching the dmg threshold and the explosion. It could start shaking, glowing and make a sound like a splat bomb before detonating.
I really hope bubble blower comes back. It’s a big hope and really healthy for Splatoon 3, the nerfs you decided for it were really good and make sense. All in all, makes me more excited if it does make it back somehow

Bubble blower would be overpowered in some stages, in splatfests like if the ultra signal right near two walls, and use the bubble blower to stick on the two walls to block, opponents shots, and you grab the ultra signal. It can be a automatic ultra signal grab
This is a game with Tri-Strike though; strike signals only land on terrain, and the strike can pierce the bubbles and hit the user. Kraken and Reefslider (and maaaaaybe Zipcaster?) could also charge through the bubbles to get a splat, too. And if you really wanna be that "no bubbles allowed" guy, bring Explosher to pierce from afar or kamikaze them with a charged, point-blank Splatana.
Doesn't seem like much of an issue, shooting at the bubbles can still do damage to them and if you want to keep the bubbles up you'd struggle not popping them with object shredder if you're running it WITH a special that's good for object shredder. Reef slider is definitely one of the better options for this as kraken can be a good distraction since if the bubbles get popped its knock back will be insane.

I'm for Bubble Blower coming back as long as you couldn't throw a sub during it, set it up or having your teammates assist and throw their bomb in is all I would do, but the other changes you listed were great and I really like them, we already have a good selection of specials that are strictly for the user, so making this one more team based in comparison to it's original to me feels better

Bubble Blower was my favourite part of the Kroller. It can be used as a shield, which can let you just rush in headfirst, while also maintaining your mobility and main weapon. Its hitbox is TALL. I loved popping them from above and surprising enemies or capping zones, you feel so smart. It can also be a distraction, which was great on maps with places to sit in or flank in 2.
I think that blower would give extra cover to hel with the push and it could work as a shield for pushes that would be struggle with crab or chargers otherways. I think that the sticking part of the rework it's fine but it being able to stickers stickers the floor reminds me to chump. Really good video anyways

Holding the ZR button for longer durations makes a bigger bubble, the bigger bubbles move slower and they put you mobile. If this happened the non-charged bubbles would be tiny and a special power-up would do something different. The bigger bubbles would also take less ink to pop for the person using the special.
I like the idea of a big swig kit with bubble blower. Kensa roller was my favourite kit in Splatoon 2 and I think it would be fun to have a combo like that in Splatoon 3.

I think this rewroekd Bubble Blower with a splat charger would be neat, slap bubbles near you and use them as a super splash wall, and use your ability to pierce to take shots while also damaging bubbles.

Stamp might be my favorite special of all time but this special was SOMETHING ELSE. I want it back so badly just because of the crazy plays I made with it on Custom E-Liter in comp, nothing felt cooler than being able to find a place on TC where I can lock them between the Tower and a Wall to get through an entire Checkpoint on my own with fucking E-Liter! Really hope it comes back in a less broken way like you suggested so I can go back to pulling off my bullshit!
I really want them to add a wind-up animation to the bubble before it explodes, maybe 1 or 2 seconds. The issue isn’t only the insta pop imo, it’s the fact that a bubble primed to explode makes the area around it completely inaccessible because, well, what if it suddenly explodes? You get no time to react. Giving you a second or two to get out of the way before it blows up would actually give you counter options.
I’ve had this idea for a special that serves a similar role to bubble blower for a while now. Marina’s Hyperbomb! You choose a location to place it, and after a set duration, it explodes. The interesting part is that shooting it powers it up, making the resulting explosion bigger. However, the enemy team can also shoot it to weaken it. The specifics of damage and radius can be tweaked to make it balanced, but that’s the core design. I think it would be interesting, as it would pressure the enemy to either give up space, or focus on subduing the bomb. I’m unsure if the bomb should be able to be destroyed or simply make it so weak it isn’t a threat.
As someone who never played Splatoon 2, Bubble Blower absolutely is something I'd love to have come back. It looks like a really fun, versatile, and skillful special. And if we got the Foil Squeezer that would very quickly become one of my favorite weapons.

I remember a while back before splatoon 3 came out you posted a poll asking of all the splatoon 2 specials you'd want to see return which one would u want the most and I said bubble blower. In fact I think bubble blower was my favorite special in the entire series and I know last time I did make a crazy prediction of Kraken returning so I'm gonna do the same for this special. It makes sense too because it allowed you to throw 3 and well, its the third splatoon and it actually wasn't initially in splatoon 2; it was an add on just like booyah and stamp. We got 3 new specials for splatoon 2 and right now we've only gotten two and again, its splatoon 3 so adding on 3 more specials later in the games lifespan would make sense and tie in with the "3" theme
to fix the insta pop combo that bubble had i would make that when the bubble has full hp i doesnt pop, it just deviates attacks, but it pops when the duration ends or when it reaches 0 hp, if the explosion connects with a player it deals about 100 damage (could be something more if needed), but if it doesnt it deals 40 or so damage, the bubbles can also be exploded by enemys, meaning that if an enemy succeffully breaks a bubble it will explode dealing to you the damage, potentially killing you, this means that you will use bubble blower to get a shield that explodes, but if you're not careful enemys can pop it forcing it to end prematurely and get a potential kill
Just imagine bubble being like a reverse ink vac. A Damage sponge that isn't virtually invincible. Can absorb player ink and get bigger before violently popping, spacing the OVER HERE emote to make it bigger and it's ink storage bigger. Pretty much allowing you to Blow the Bubble

The special even thematically matches the game as the special blows out *three* bubbles. As we’re mostly aware, Splatoon 3 *really* likes to stick to the theme of the number 3
Another option for changing the way the combo works is to add 'white' frames to the bubble blower- maybe 10 frames? Where, after it's hit max damage from friendlies, the bubble glows and shows size changes similar to a splat bomb before exploding. that way there's a slight visual cue too
As somone who actually likes Reef-lux as a main weapon, your proposed kit sounds awesome to me. I really want that weapon to be seen for more then just missile spamming.

I actually think the bubbles sticking when hitting a surface can be a good thing. Basically, they could become huge suction bombs. My thought is they get one bounce, and the second time they touch a surface, they stick until either popped or the duration ends.

I think bubbles on a splatana would be really interesting since object damage is really good and you could hide in the bubbles to get you into one shot range for the main weapon. The bubbles sticking to walls would also pair great with their ability to hit over ledge to make dropping terrifying. Perhaps a more defensive stamper kit with autobomb for low cost scouting with the bubble blower would give stamper a new and dangerous playstyle.
Honestly I agree. Bubble Blower should come back but needs changes. The special was constantly called a splatoon 3 special in splatoon 2 after all. Now it's about time it gets added into 3. Just nerf it's ability to bomb combo the bubbles instantly and i find it better to fight
My main was the Jr with this glorious thing. I don't think I ever used the insta pop, at least on purpose, since I more used the bubble to get in and apply pressure to my enemies, the shear number of chargers who were annoyed by two torpedos and three bubbles covering my approach was glorious.
I've been discussing with a friend some special reworks that I'd like to share : 1 : Tacticooler. I think the main problem is although it's strong for stuff like rainmaker and clam blitz, speed is not always what you need. Whichis why I think it would be interesting to have different buff options on it to customize before the match starts. I think the three big families of buffs should be ink efficiency, sub efficiency and defense, as well as speed which we already have. As nerf the effects wouldn't be nearly as strong and quick respawn would go from 1 to 2 seconds, to decrease the suicidal tendencies and encourage a more team focused use. 2 : Splashdown . We all know why this special was horrible : it was weak, used as a panic button and its effect was basically that of an instantaneous booyah bomb. So what I suggest is that it gets 100 points of armor as soon as it's launched, so it still dies from pierce damage if it was used as a panic button but to still make it more difficult to cancel. Most important rework though would be that it can now hit walls instead of the ground if the player is close enough and the joystick is pointing toward the wall. This is to prevent things on certain maps such as Wahoo and Inkblot where you rose up in the air and were killed by a fast reacting roller/charger. 3 : Bomb rush . I've got two rework ideas here. 1 It now can only throw a certain number of bombs in a specific zone of the map, in return it would get a 1 second extra duration and 10% more range. This is to encourage mobility and go further into the enemy lines because in Splatoon 2 it was a very stationary special who's only goal seemed to install bomb barrages, which would be absolutely incompatible with zones and all the maps' choke points. 2 It can only throw 5 bombs that have increased stats such as object damage or delay time, or another way to have "super bombs" this is once again to avoid an extremely long bomb barrage all while keeping the special's power. Anyway if you've had the courage to read all the way until here, thank you and I hope you are inspired by these ideas, even if these changes seem horrible to you Have a great day.

omg finnally someone who want the bubble blower back , a LOT of people kept saying me "no this one SUCK"
and the maps are perfect for this , bubble blower was my favorite power up but since thye decided to not put it in sploon 3 i was rly sad about it

God yes, that special was so fun to use and had a lot of uses
with the fact that the foil sqeezer was my main . I would love this new bubble blower.
I actually think the bubbles sticking when hitting a surface can be a good thing. Basically, they could become huge suction bombs. My thought is they get one bounce, and the second time they touch a surface, they stick until either popped or the duration ends.
I hope this video ages as well as the first one, this is my first splatoon game and Kraken Royale is one of my favorite specials, Bubble blower seems just as fun!😄

I think bubbles on a splatana would be really interesting since object damage is really good and you could hide in the bubbles to get you into one shot range for the main weapon. The bubbles sticking to walls would also pair great with their ability to hit over ledge to make dropping terrifying.
Perhaps a more defensive stamper kit with autobomb for low cost scouting with the bubble blower would give stamper a new and dangerous playstyle.
I totally agree with you, honestly these reworks for bubble blower would make this one of the most balanced specials in splatoon 3

Honestly I agree. Bubble Blower should come back but needs changes. The special was constantly called a splatoon 3 special in splatoon 2 after all. Now it's about time it gets added into 3. Just nerf it's ability to bomb combo the bubbles instantly and i find it better to fight
My main was the Jr with this glorious thing. I don't think I ever used the insta pop, at least on purpose, since I more used the bubble to get in and apply pressure to my enemies, the shear number of chargers who were annoyed by two torpedos and three bubbles covering my approach was glorious.

I've been discussing with a friend some special reworks that I'd like to share :
1 : Tacticooler. I think the main problem is although it's strong for stuff like rainmaker and clam blitz, speed is not always what you need. Whichis why I think it would be interesting to have different buff options on it to customize before the match starts. I think the three big families of buffs should be ink efficiency, sub efficiency and defense, as well as speed which we already have. As nerf the effects wouldn't be nearly as strong and quick respawn would go from 1 to 2 seconds, to decrease the suicidal tendencies and encourage a more team focused use.
2 : Splashdown . We all know why this special was horrible : it was weak, used as a panic button and its effect was basically that of an instantaneous booyah bomb. So what I suggest is that it gets 100 points of armor as soon as it's launched, so it still dies from pierce damage if it was used as a panic button but to still make it more difficult to cancel. Most important rework though would be that it can now hit walls instead of the ground if the player is close enough and the joystick is pointing toward the wall. This is to prevent things on certain maps such as Wahoo and Inkblot where you rose up in the air and were killed by a fast reacting roller/charger.
3 : Bomb rush . I've got two rework ideas here. 1 It now can only throw a certain number of bombs in a specific zone of the map, in return it would get a 1 second extra duration and 10% more range. This is to encourage mobility and go further into the enemy lines because in Splatoon 2 it was a very stationary special who's only goal seemed to install bomb barrages, which would be absolutely incompatible with zones and all the maps' choke points. 2 It can only throw 5 bombs that have increased stats such as object damage or delay time, or another way to have "super bombs" this is once again to avoid an extremely long bomb barrage all while keeping the special's power.
