This song to me is about someone trying to find themselves and taking that epic road trip to do so. The meeting of the girl is about another lost soul who realized that her place is her home whereas Bob hasn’t found his place yet.
Seger is NOT underrated or unappreciated! They made it into the Rand R hall of Fame in 2004 ! Seger himself got into the RandR song writers Hall of Fame a few years Later! DUH !
Bob Seger is a legend. You can't go wrong with his music, whether ballads or bangers. His career started in the 60s, he broke through in the 70s, hit it big in the 80s and kept playing concerts until the 2010s. The man is deservedly in the Rock and Roll hall of fame, but never got the nationwide acclaim as, say, Bruce Springsteen. He deserves it.
He is one of Detroit's greatest musician/singers. He writes songs, plays guitar and piano and sings like crazy. Listen to Turn the Page, We've Got Tonight and Old Time Rock and Roll. Fantastic songs.
I've often been surprised that there is so much good music out there that you and so many others your age has never heard. But just now I realize I envy you. Because with this channel you are now experiencing these songs for the first time. Two of my favorite Segers are "Against the Wind" and "Turn the Page." I wonder if you've eve heard Jackson Browne, how about Dan Fogelberg. I would love to spend a day with you just saying, "Now listen to this."
He really is amazing; have seen him many times over the years and he never disappoints. One of my favorites was at The World Series of Rock and Roll, at the stadium in Cleveland 1979. Last time I saw him, he was in his 70’s- wearing a T-shirt and bandana headband, and looked like he enjoyed performing as much as he did years ago. Unlike some of the older bands still performing, he sounded incredible. Will never forget it.
You made a valiant attempt to not smile for five minutes while listening. Happy to see you fail wonderfully! ‘The Fire Inside’ would be an excellent listen.
His reference to the "Great Divide" is his reflection of the continental divide high up in the Rockies running from Canada to Mexico and determines separation of the watersheds of the Pacific Ocean from those of the Atlantic Ocean. You will enjoy this man's songs and voice. Here is a play on words to describe some of them. Bob Seger is 2 + 2 to Night Moves known as the Detroit Boy that was always Running Against the Wind. Like a Rock he was Shamed by the Moon so Turn the page to find more hits. Just Roll With it and You'll Accompany Me all the way down Main Street.
BobSeger was A long distance track runner in Gym class at ANN ARBOR MICHIGAN HIGH SCHOOL! ,Hence Against the Wind, that's how he Derived the Title for the SONG! .
@@spikebeans9563 Glad you enjoyed. I have never been to Alaska and I know it is beautiful. Been to the rockies once a year fir the last 30 years fishing.
I love Bob Seger’s music and this is one of my faves! He has so many great songs though. Here are some I suggest: Like A Rock Hollywood Nights You’ll Accompany Me Night Moves Main Street Against The Wind Turn The Page Sun Spot Baby Her Strut Still The Same In Your Time I don’t think you can choose a bad Bob Seger song. As far as I know there aren’t any.
The Great Divide is in the Rocky Mountains. Bog Seger is one of the great story tellers that gave us great music in the late 70s and 80s, along with Bruce Springsteen and too few others.
the continental great divide runs from alaska to the gulf of mexico. this divide is what seperates the watersheds that go to the pacific ocean from watersheds going to the atlantic ocean.
Great reaction as usual. I'd love to see you react to more bob. He's a legend. You should check out feel like a number. It still hits today for all us working class stiffs.
Great song and great reaction, thanks! Bob Seger has a long song list worth listening to. Go way back, and check out “Rambling Gambling Man”, then some others like Hollywood Nights, Sunspot Baby, Fire Lake, and you just Have to check out Night Moves! Thanks, again!
You may have missed he was already rolling away. She, like everyone at times, wanted the same thing but had no dedication. You have to have actually "rolled away" to really get this song.
Your face said it all! You got rolled away. Because that's what Bob Segar gifts us with.... every song. Soulful Rock & Roll. Bob Seger never fails to take us on a journey to find ourselves.
he is my favorite the best
Bob Seger is as real as it gets. This is a perfect example, a bikers anthem if there ever was one. Thanks for this one for sure.
Bob Seger is a very deep rabbit hole full of rock and roll and amazing lyrics.

Right about that.

We have some lyrics of this song on my Dads motorcycle Urn. Glad you found this song, its a great tune.
Going to be in my funeral procession of 3 as they spread my ashes.
I'm a huge Bob Seger fan! In this song, his big 2 wheeler is his motorcycle and the great divide is the Continental Divide 😊
I love this song!
A voice that hits deep in the soul, this is one of my favourite songs to play full blast when I am driving.
Though as famous and well respected as he and his band are they are yet woefully underrated (IMO) and unappreciated. Seger is an American treasure.
💯

The Famous Final Scene one of segers best
Listen to more Bob seger, he tells you the story of his life through his songs. That's what makes him great.
Actually most of Segers songs are not Autobiographical! , an Interviewer asked him that his Reply was not Really! .
Seen him live 3 times, nothing short of spiritual 😎
Saw him twice, One with long hair, next with short. He's so amazing live
You are both blessed.

80’s vibe? This is timeless.
the continental great divide runs from alaska to the gulf of mexico. this divide is what seperates the watersheds that go to the pacific ocean from watersheds going to the atlantic ocean.
I have been a Bob Seger fan since the early 70’s. When listening to him, it’s hard to believe he is a gray haired, glasses wearing grandpa today.
No auto-tune, no turn
Tables....just pure talent and soul.
Turn the Page is a great song for you to explore of his, especially if you like the story telling.
Sitting in Mackinaw City listening to this at 4am
Love Seger 🔥🔥
This is about his trip from Mackinaw City to Jackson Hole (the divide). Another travel song is Turn the Page.
Great reaction as usual. I'd love to see you react to more bob. He's a legend. You should check out feel like a number. It still hits today for all us working class stiffs.
80's vibe was your 1st mistake ! Seger is and will be a future & timeless classic always. Right up there with The Doors etc. He never gets old.
More Bob Seger pick a song you can’t go wrong. Katmandu will fill your tank up.👍🏼
A National Treasure
Thanks for the reaction! I really enjoy your detailed viewpoints on the full reaction videos, that's the thing that the shorts don't allow us to get.
was the closing song from the movie "Reckless" (1984) starring Darryl Hannah and Aidan Quinn
THE BEST
“Next time we’ll get it right “. That line moves the song from just music to a prayer.

80s vibe.....?????? I don't get an 80's vibe...get a rock n roll amazing uplifting get up and dance vibe. Seger...endless timeless classic.
Midwest much ?
Ramblin gambling man. Traveling man beautiful loser.
Why do you pontificate about things the lyrics make perfectly clear? Do you NOT know what the "Great Devide" is?
There's only one kind of song Bob can't write..........a bad one.
